If I understood your question correctly, I was wondering exactly what you are asking.
I would also like to know if the SM-S820l ROM's are compatible with other SM models.

You've got it a bit backwards. I'm wondering if ROMs for, say, the S-G360T would be compatible.

Yup, I meant it both ways actually. We will see if this stock Lollipop ROM for the SM-G360T will work on my SM-S820L using ODIN to flash it.
Fingers crossed!!!

[Q] Switching models need help

So tomorrow I will be probably going from the n900a to the n900. One issue I'm having is how the n900 and n9005 are halfway mixed together on here, and I don't know which roms and kernels I can safely use. On top of that I don't know what to expect when running it on AT&T (other than a lack of LTE). I go on sammobile and don't know which stock rom I'll need in case of an emergency.
So if anyone could help with guiding me through all of this, I'd appreciate it. I'm 99.99% sure that LTE is out the window. I just want to know what I can do on here. Usually these forums are cut and dry as far as models getting their own section, but international is so different.

After you get your phone simply go into settings then go to "about",
there you will see the exact model number of your phone.
Once you have that then go to sammobile.com and download
the odin flashable stock official rom for your phone's model.
When looking for a custom rom to flash make sure that it's
compatible with the model number of your phone.
Good luck!

Thanks for the reply, but when I go on sammobile there are so many different stock roms from so many countries. None of which are mine. So I don't know if it matters which one I choose. The n900a just had one.
And it really makes it more difficult, for me anyway, when they make n900 and n9005 share a section. I know that n900 has a separate "android development" section, but everything else is combined, and it only serves to confuse.

Dev-Edition & Roms

Hey all been out of the loop for a little bit and I have a question. With the phone being as locked down as it is I was thinking of getting the Verizon GS5 Dev-Edition. Can I use ROMs and/or Kernels that are in the main GS5 forum?
Thanks for the advice/help in advanced!

If it's the Dev Edition and once rooted, I would think so. I could be wrong.

Appreciate the quick reply! I'd imagine Kernals might be hit or miss but ROMs would be ok but I could be wrong on both accounts and I just wanted to make sure before I bought it.

Either way, the Dev edition is the way to go. There is a custom build in 'Original Android Dev' for the VZW S5 down a couple subforums that is confirmed stable.

Yea I saw the Kernel but there aren't any ROM's in the Verizon forum, the main GS5 forum is hoping though so I wanted to make sure I can actually do what I intend with the device given the money. Especially since I know the Dev-Edition will never get official updates from samsung.

I'm curious myself. I just purchased an M8 but if we can flash ROMs from T-Mobile/AT&T/Int'l/Etc onto the rooted/unlocked S5 DE I'd probably buy that instead.

From what I'm reading it should be ok as long as we use a Verizon kernel because the Intl version seems to also have the Snapdragon 801.
Waiting for someone with experience to confirm though.

No progress yet if any one that have done flashing any rom on this device kindly help us to do so too.
Lets keep it updated here if any thing lollipop happens
No luck
I have this phone since last September and really regret that I bought it. Even though it looks like and feels like a normal 9505 or 9500 model, due to its specifications you can not use any custom rom of more common variants. (No Cyanogen, No Miui, No any other well known custom rom). Do not even try flashing 9505 or 9500 roms, I managed to soft brick my phone already with them.
There is almost zero support for this product in forums or if there is any it is in Korean language. The only custom rom I came across is TeamLeader rom, which is a cleaner stock rom practically, getting rid of Samsung's bloatware, but nothing special, same user experience.
IIRC the SHV-E300 is the Galaxy S4 LTE-A and more or less the same device as the ks01lte. So take a look in the i9506 section, there you will find some custom ROMs for your phone, some already LP-based.
I recommend arters 97's CM12, he is doing a great job on this phone.

I think yours is Korean and it will not get 5.0

there are some reports of bricked devices after installing Firmware of another S4, suppose i bricked my device would i be able to get it working again if i installed the stock ROM again i mean can u flash a bricked device?
NOt get 5.0 :'( words hurt man they really do
First of all, lets get something straight. Most people use the term "bricked" improperly. A bricked phone means one thing: your phone won't turn on in any way, shape or form, and there's nothing you can do to fix it. It is, for all intents and purposes, as useful as a brick. A phone stuck in a boot loop is not bricked, nor is a phone that boots straight into recovery mode. These are things you can usually fix, and they're a lot more common than a truly bricked phone. If your phone is actually bricked, you won't be able to fix it yourself (but there are things you can do
If Your Phone Is Truly Bricked: Take It Into the Store and Play Dumb
If your phone is actually bricked—that is, it won't turn on at all, no matter how hard you try—it's time to give up and move on. The first thing you can do in this situation is try to take it back to your carrier's store and play dumb—just say something like "I don't know what happened, but my phone won't turn on anymore" (don't tell them you rooted it, obviously). Most carriers don't have time to deal with such issues and they'll just give you a new phone. Sure, it's a tad evil, but it should work most of the time

Buying Verizon G2 for use in Europe - flash other ROMS for 4G support?

Hey guys,
is it possible to use one of these in Europe with full 4G support? Can I flash ROMS that are meant to be used on the European model and it will fix the antenna or should I flash specific Verizon ROMS and then flash an european modem, if at all possible? I thank any input because I'm clueless.
Thanks!

[Extremely Confused] Rooting the T-Mobile Galaxy S5 and flashing Cyanogenmod 12.1

Hi I recently got a T-Mobile Galaxy S5 and I despise Touchwiz. It looks ugly and more importantly it makes my phone extremely sluggish (it feels like my Moto G when it would run out of RAM). I want to root and put a ROM that's as near stock as possible (I'm assuming CM12.1 is the best option for that) but I haven't rooted since the Galaxy S2 so all the information I'm reading is super overwhelming. All these stickied posts seem rather outdated coming from like 2014 and such. I'm on 5.1.1 and I honestly just want as lagfree of an experience as possible. Can someone here please help me acheive this? I've been researching for 2 weeks now and I'm horribly confused. I keep reading about custom kernels and all that but all I want is my phone to not suck.
You'll get more answers in the correct forum

Have you tried a different Launcher first though? TouchWiz Launcher is terrible, Nova Launcher is what a lot of people use, myself too, super fast, smooth with 100x more customisation options

I'm not rooted. I'm confused because when I try to figure out how to root and flash my phone all I see is a bunch of different guides and I'm not sure which is the one I should do.
Not sure if the T-Mobile bootloader is locked, I know the Verizon one is, and another US carrier, if it is locked, it's a PITA
If it's not, flash CF Auto Root for the G900F with ODIN

Best do some reading before messing if you don't know how to use ODIN
And no, I don't believe it works with 5.1.1, there is a thread about rooting 5.1.1

Was the same for me when I got mine, I spent 2-3 weeks reading every single thread I could before I decided I knew enough to root and be confident I wasn't going to brick it
And that was after I was already well experienced with Android, just a different device
Don't try taking shortcuts is my advice, asking for help and guides is one thing, but reading absolutely everything you can first is the only sure way to not kill your phone
