Hey, hopefully I am in a right place to ask help about rooting and data recovery.
Firstly, I tried to recover FB Messenger chats with GT-Recovery app on my phone. I rooted phone with KingoRoot successfully, but when I start recovery app, it says that phone needs to be rooted.. any guesses, why it says so?
Another problem is recovering deleted data (contacts, messages) with recovery software. Tried wondershare dr. Fone and Jihosoft recovery. It scans my phone, but it still shows only current data, doesnt recover deleter stuff.
Hopefully someone can give me some advice, Im newb in this kind of things.

You need diskdigger pro. This is the best android recovery software I know.

Hello,
New to this forum and was wondering if anyone can help me out. Here's my back story. For some unknown reason my G2 did a factory restore while it was charging. So of course all of my photos, contacts, etc. that had not been backed up were lost. Now this is a company phone so I started the process of setting up my email, security, etc when I came across this forum and others that explained how to possibly restore lost data. Here is where I am running into issues.
I tried following some of the examples using various apps to restore, but since I can not use USB transfer, only MTP or PTP this caused issues. Before rooting I did some checks explained on this forum. One was using the 3845#*803# to check for root. Funny enough it showed my phone had been rooted, stating that su and busybox were installed. This was interesting since I had never actually installed these programs and never tried to root my phone before. I looked at my apps and did find su, I am guessing one of the restore programs loaded this. Anyway when I run root checker it states the device does not have root access. So after several factory resets thx to Homero2 "HOW TO MAKE A PERFECT UNROOTED" thread. I am back to were my phone now shows unrooted.
Now I am trying to root my phone to try and recover data. I am running into an issue here with binaries. I tried installing SuperSu and I am getting the following error "There is no SU binary installed". I also tried using Superuser and ran into the same issue. Any help resolving this would be much appreciated.
Here is my phone info:
LG G2
Android v. 4.4.2
Kernel v. 3.4.0
Build # KOT491.D803R20f
Software v. D803R20f
Search for stumproot. That will get you rooted.
+1 for stumproot
Strange.... Company phone.... Rooted but not by me.... Mysterious reset....
Are you sure that no one is stealing your data or spying you? Programs like cerberus can be invisible if rooted and they can remote erase your data... And much more... I advise you to deep analize the situation..

I was thinking the same thing that there was likely some kind of phishing, virus, etc.. program on my phone, likely downloaded through an app. Corporate espionage, probably not likely, my company, maybe, but more than likely they would just fire me if they didn't like what I had on my phone.. Most likely someone trying to steal personal info. I am not sure what I can do at this point to analyse what and how was on my phone. I am still dealing with how to recover lost data.
Also I tried the StumpRoot. Wasn't too successful. First run through it said my phone was rooted. I rebooted and loaded su, removed stump and ran a couple different apps to try and recover data unsuccessfully. When I checked su and root checker it said my phone wasn't rooted. So I ran Stumproot multiple times unsuccessfully. It kept saying my device wasn't supported, or something along those lines, I kind of was nearing the end of my frustration line by that point. So I am back to Factory Stock and pretty much at a cross roads as to whether to continue down this road of data recovery. Being a company phone I am not really interested in leaving my phone rooted. I will definitely take a more proactive approach to syncing my data more often.
This site and forum are fantastic with more information then I could ever know what to do with. It's great having moderators and posters like yourself. TY :good:
Hi Guys!
How to remove a Boot animation of Telecom Company or just disable it?
I bought my G530H from Telecom Company and it has a Logo on notification panel, boot animation and even the home page of stock browser...
I Rooted this phone using root method by Mohan and after that, if I reboot the phone and it will open directly at recovery mode...
I read some solutions in this forum but it didn't work on me... does anyone know who how to remove that without deleting process?
I read the last method that I haven't tried before here http://forum.xda-developers.com/grand-prime/help/q-t3094542 . But he restored the original system and it sounds like there's a format process. I don't know how use Titanium to back up all my files, messages, etc. because I don't want to lose that...
Thanks in Advance

If you don't want to use titanium backup, just copy your important data (pics and videos etc) to computer or sd card and then restore the original system. You will have to re-install any missing apps from the Play store, and that should not be a big issue I think.
Best of luck :good:
Hello everyone,
yesterday I wanted to try out encrypting my Note 4 (N910F). The process took over 10 hours without anything happening. I then decided the encryption failed and restartet the phone. It then asked my to reset it to factory settings, which I didn't do (yet). Unfortunatly I didn't make a backup before trying to encrypt it, and I would really like to keep the data, especially pictures, some messages, settings etc. Now is there any way I can still get the data? Or even the slightest possibility? The phone is running Android 5.0.1, is rooted and USB Debugging is enabled. Sadly, Samsung Kies, Samsung Smart Switch and Windows Explorer can't access the device (Windows Explorer doesn'T even recognize it). Now is there any way to still get atleast some data? Via ADB or so?
Any help will be greatly appreciated!
Have a nice weekend,

Anything? This happened to me to and would like to know how to save data.

There is no way, afaik. Sorry.
I reformatted and ran recovery utilities. I got a few hits, but I couldn't recover everything. I'm followed the tutorial found in the following link. I was able to extract the entire userdata image and am getting ready to perform file recovery on it. Good luck.

What I Have: Samsung Note 4
Rooted
Model SM-910C
Android Version 6.0.1
Baseband Version N910CXXU1DPE4
Kernel Version3.10.9-7633655, [email protected] #1
Build Number MMB29K.N910CXXU2DPF4
I have Titanium Backup Pro with backups done twice a week
Disabled Knox
using Nova Launcher
My Issues: The following process errors are constantly flashing on screen, android Process acore, contacts stopped, tui service, unified damon, wi-fi direct share.
I have cleared cache partition. When I go into recovery mode the green android man comes up with updating message then it displays recovery mode options. At the bottom of the screen it says
"Supported API: 3
dm-verify verification failed..."
I have tried restoring backup from Titanium Backup Pro with no change in errors. I cannot get to contacts, messages and calander. I can get into settings to clear Apps Cache. I am at my wits end in trying to figure out what
is going on. This all started last Tuesday when I had several MMS with images fail. Please help me figure out what I'm doing wrong. Like everyone else, I don't want to loose anything. I don't want to do a Hard Reset. Many thanks will be given for assistance in bringing my Galaxy Note 4 back to life. Without it I am a lost pupply.
Marie.
I'd recommend reinstalling the stock firmware back onto your device but don't root it this time. I think something went wrong durinh the rooting process and that is the source of your problem.
un root

Nope, you can't unroot using Titanium backup.
If you have linked your contact data to your Google Account then you should be able to restore as soon as you sign in again.
Hello guys,
I need some help with my Lenovo K4 Note Vibe (3GB RAM version). The thing is it started popping up random "Unfortunately xxxx stopped working" a couple of weeks ago. That specific app would just crash and restart itself. It can be a system app or game or any random thing (GUI, Contacts, Messaging, Angry Bird and other games etc.). It would usually gets solved on by restarting the phone or stopping the app from setting or on it's own.
Now the problem I have is, I gave it a restart and now it just shows "Unfortunately Notification Center Has Stopped". I have two option "Okay" and "Try To Resolve" none of them does anything except the error goes away for a second or two and pops back up. I can not even see the usual "Enter you PIN" screen. Yes I was using Fingerprint so I had to enter the PIN every time I restart the phone. So now basically I'm stuck at startup screen without any options. The phone is alive I can tell, I can feel it vibrate when I call, hear messaging tones (whatsapp/text). If connect it with PC when turned on, I can see a Lenovo Folder option to browse but its empty since it requires the phone to be unlocked first with pin.
The mobile belongs to my sister and she is dentist by profession and have lots of important data including some research she did (photos) for journal she publishes in national magazines.
How do I get past this error ? I do not have root, I tried the recovery but it is a Chinese recovery and does not have an option to wipe catch partition. The phone was on latest version (Marshmallow) and there is nothing I can do to start it up. Tried booting in safe mode but still the same error.
There is an option to see basic details in Chinese recovery, it shows
Model No. A7010a48
Build Time : 2016 12 27 14:35:36 CST
Kernel Ver. 3.18.19+
Android Ver.: 6.0
along with various other details.
How do I save my data ? Can I recover it anyhow ?
1. Try wipe data and factory reset
if not solve
2. Use SP Flash tools to flash stock rom.
If you have unlocked bootloader, then you can try to flash/hotboot into twrp recovery as it shows all files and folders in pc while connected in recovery mode.
Even if the bootloader is locked, there is no harm in trying.

Bootloader is locked. And there was no custom recovery flashed, every recovery flashing method I searched required for data to be wiped and bootloader unlocked so I`m stuck on that front.

Like I mentioned in post, the data is important, I could throw away the hardware I just need data.
I`m looking for a method to wipe catch partition without getting my data erased or to extract data any other way. Please do let me know if anyone have any solution at all, this is really really important.
Enable usb debugging
Use adb pull command to get the data.
Edit: nevermind, saw you can't unlock the phone.
Pretty sure if you flash twrp it will wipe data data partition as soon as you reboot. So I wouldn't do that.
Other option is do a full nandroid backup using adb but the only way you are gonna get that working is if you flash twrp and like I mentioned it's probably not a good idea but I'm not certain.
Another option is mtktools/spflashtool and do a full firmware backup from that, reset the phone and then restore from the backup, but I have no experience in that but it should work in theory.
Do you see the error even when there is incoming call? If not try from InCallUi i.e. when you answer the phone, try to navigate from that such as opening contacts, if there is a chance pull down notification bar and enter into settings. If any of these happen, it will ask to enter your pin and then you can unlock your phone. Now connect your phone to your pc and backup the data you need
If the data you seek are images, google photos should already backup your images to your google photos cloud account. Check this by signing in from your pc.
If they are media from whatsapp, don't worry, it will be backedup daily to your google drive account and all your messages along with your media will be restored after you install whatsapp again.
If they are Docs, then probably they are in gmail account (PROBABLY) you can always search for required ones in gmail.
Any other files from these cannot be restored if they are inaccessiblefrom your phone.
Suggestion: Maintain a cloud account which you feel safe and backup to that account so that you have no need to worry about the important files. **** like these happen every now and then.
Edit : These are gonna work if you checked the online backup or sync in respective app.
