How is your camera opening speed with double pressing the home button? Mine is 2-3 sec. Long story short I got first s7edge with defected home button or screen it was making an insanely loud click sound when pressed, got it exchanged with close to ok home button and now camera opening speed drives me nuts... My GF got a gold s7edge with perfect home button and the camera opening speed is usually 1 sec. I checked both phones with AIDA64 and camera sensors are the same everything is the same but I have that stupid delay... Tried clearing data of the camera app, also wiped cache in stock recovery, tried to remove the SD card from the phone still same problem... When I lounch camera app with a shortcut all is OK it opens in 1 sec, when I use double home button it's 2-3 sec, first screen lights up the the camera app loads. Rly don't know what to do but this makes me mad... OCD at its finest I guess. Could it be home button problem? The only thing I didn't try is factory reset or trying the nougat beta... Or maybe it could be some app that makes my camera slower? I know some apps ask for permission of a camera app...

When I use the camera and press the shutter button, I found that it is unable to focus when I press half shutter. The screen is flashing between focusing and the normal camera UI. But there is no problem when I press the shutter firmly to take photos. Any people have the same problem?
Camera button - Not working at all!
Having a different problem... My camera button will fire up the camera fine, but it becomes inactive after that. In other words it can't be used to focus or take the shot. I have to use the fiddly D-Pad to take a picture.
It seems this might be a button mapping issue, I am using AEButton Plus, but even disabling that hasn't solved the problem. I am sure this could be fixed by a registry setting.
I really can't take the hard-reset option as I have spent a long time getting everything how I want it and restoring a backup afterwards will cause the problem to come back.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

Umm....its hard trying to understand what u typed. but I think you're having a problem with getting your camera to start with the side camera button right? well I had the same problem at first, but then I figured out that you have to press the camera button further down to get it to work. doing a soft press on the button is used for focusing the camera, thats why you have to press it down hard
Hold the camera button down until the screen changes to a gray logo of a camera. Should load from anywhere on the phone
In camera, go to settings icon and choose thee shooting mode (button will have different behaviour depending on which shooting setting you choose)

Sony Ericssons have camera buttons to be pressed at almost very hard for it to turn the camera on. (well unless if the cellphone have lens cover.)
Then taking a picture takes a couple of seconds late that is, pressing soft for focusing, then press hard for taking a shot. You can also take a shot right away by pressing hard but it might still take a couple of split seconds to shoot.
I wonder why they say " Never miss a shot" hehehe hope this helps but if your phone still doesn't respond maybe there is a problem with your camera button.
Try opening your camera by goinf to pics and vids then activate your camer NOW, try to take a picture by pressing the button. if it responds and takes shots. then you've probably need a master reset, or reflash.

First of all, the button works fine for taking screenshots/starting video recording while already in the camera app
thing is, when I'm on homescreen, and hold the camera button to turn camera app on, it doesn't do that
Try to press it as you take a picture, half way down to focus and then full down to shoot just try it and it works that way

Is there anyway that I can fast open the camera when the cellphone screen is off? Sometimes it takes valuable seconds to go through the lock screen and unlock using the camera icon.
I was thinking if there's a way to configure phone to do this.. for example, double fast pressing the ON/OFF button to fast open in camera... and triple pressing it to make a picture

My power button gets stuck and as you know when you long press it it reboots the phone. So basically my phone is just constantly rebooting and rebooting, its practically unusable. I need help if anyone knows a way to disable the function of power button, I mean so the power button wont do any function anymore, or swap it with another button.
I had the same problem. Got the button replaced, it worked for a month or so and I started getting the random reboots again. A search on the internet reveals that this is a common problem with the S3, and I doubt they fixed the issue for the S3 neo.
1.5 years of use and my power button is broken, my volume buttons are mushy and my camera doesn't focus at all. The build quality on this phone is a joke.
You'll probably have to have your power key replaced as well. Or do what I did and remove it from the motherboard. You won't believe how flimsy the solder is. I now use the accessibility shortcut button to lock / unlock my phone. It's a hassle and it takes up screen real estate, but at least it works.

Mine stopped doing it now but I'm sure it will start again. You are right, build quality of this phone is really lame. That part on the sides that looks like metal is mostly worned off from my phone. Camera focus is crap and volume is lower than before, I can barely hear notifications. Maybe I'll remove the button too, but I'm concerned about how to boot the phone if it turns off.
You can turn on the phone by connecting the charger, immediately booting into download mode (before the battery icon comes up) and restarting from there. It's not the best solution, but at least I have a functional phone until my oneplus x arrives sometime this week

That's actually a fantastic idea. I thought about flashing cm that has no offline charging and booting that way, but this is better solution lol.

You can try nova launcher since it has a gesture for double tap to lock screen, or maybe a 3rd party app.
use soft lock to lock screen without pressing power button
