After pIaying games on my xperia for years it no longer plays the top games of today ie FIFA 12 NFS etc (but still a awesome device) i shopped around on a budget of £200 and after reviewing all tabs this comes out on top by. A clear mile with it quad core processor (4x) more than inferior and some superior tabs i bought the 16gb version and Its the best purchase I did it plays any game you throw at it without any glitches! Its easy to root and unlock the boot loader and loads of ROMs out there already! A must buy in my opinion!!!
If you plan on playing games I would recommend the 16gb version as the nexus 7 Has a tegra nvidia GPU the games are visually breathtaking and as a result the data pack that come with games are close to 1gb but if you plan on music then don't buy a nexus 7 because it would waste the raw awesome graphical power of the device (-:
If you buy anything else you will be disappointed

Its my second tablet and first 7 inch tablet. I love it. Its definitely worth getting but go for the 32gb if you can afford it especially if you want to play games on it and video. Easy to root too. The good thing is that it also fits in my jacket pocket so it comes with me everywhere and has been great as a sat nav device too.
I love this thing. I had the iPad before and this is much more fun

Hello all
I will be getting a Nexus tablet this Xmas, it will either be 32gb N7 or 16gb N10.
I'm very torn to which I should go for.
I currently have an iPad and I'm happy to be leaving IOS but I'm not sure how I'd 7" display on the N7.
My gut feeling is N7 due to the size but I'm not sure due to the size!!!
I know indecisive but that why I'm asking for your opinions.
Thank you in advance.
Do what i'm doing. Go to Sams club buy yourself a 32 gb nexus 7 use it for up to 90 days, return it and try the nexus 10 same way.
Only you can answer this really it completely depends on tour usage. I don't think it will be superior its just different. They are both nexus and both very high end devicea

Cool idea but I'm in the UK and not sure if any of the stores over here do that.

Nexus 10 will probably be the "better" tablet but it really depends on what you want. If you want to carry your tablet around everywhere then the Nexus 7 is probably a better choice. If it's going to stay at home most of the time then Nexus 10. If you're going to be watching a lot of movies then Nexus 10 is better. For reading books Nexus 7.
Nexus 7
-Small form factor (easy to carry around, very portable)
-Smaller form factor also makes it great for gaming
-Good for reading eBooks
Nexus 10
-Beautiful screen (great for videos and games)
-Better hardware
I'm waiting for a truck load of reviews.. One review I read already puts me in the `not buying' category.. I don't trust Samsumg with tablets.. They have a good track record with throwing awesome hardware into a tablet and having it perform like a Celeron trying to run Windows Vista with 512MB of RAM. I already have one 10 inch paperweight of theirs.. I'm not looking for another.

Thanks for the info, I travel quite a lot and take my iPad everywhere, browse and watch TV/films when in hotels.
I'm very tempted with N7 as I've noticed I've been using the iPad less and phone more due to size.

The N7 is a show stopper considering the price.. The N10 has (imo) A LOT to live up to considering it's twice as much as the N7.. For double the price I sure as hell better be getting more than 3inches of screen, 400mhz and Antutu scores that ring in 4000 points lower than my N7 along with other benchmarks that are worse than my N7.. I'm 35 and well beyond buying junk for material reasons and it's looking like the N10 is going to be just that.

While I cannot speak for the Nexus 10, I do own the Nexus 7 and believe the light weight and form factor to be its greatest strengths. I used to own an iPad 3, but sold it after getting the Nexus 7. The iPad always felt a little too big and heavy for use at home. In many instances I simply used my laptop/PC instead. The 7" form factor is perfect for browsing the web, reading eBooks, watching 720p movies, etc. while on the go or moving around the house.
Also, the one concern I would have in regards to the Nexus 10 are the applications themselves. From my experience with the N7, many apps on the Play market are not tablet optimized. There are basically many apps that are essentially made for phones that are blown up to fit the Nexus 7. It does not look too bad on a 7" screen, but I can only imagine phone apps being a complete waste of space on a 10" tablet. I think in time Android will get more tablet specific apps though.
Well you already have a 10 inch tablet so why not add a 7 incher to your stable? The portability and light weight of the nexus 7 really adds to its usefulness and ease of use. Reading a few reviews of the n10 is a good idea though before making your decision.
Not to encourage greed, but if this is going to be a gift then you might want to opt for the more valuable n10.
I would suggest asking this in the Nexus 10 forums too, just to get their point of view. Overall , you're going to get a bias opinion in the Nexus 7 forums and the Nexus 10 forums, just spread it out a bit.
I would suggest the N7 for its price, HD screen and form factor. It handles anything (that's optimised, **** you gameloft) you throw at it and doubles as an eReader and gaming device. The N10 is undoubtedly better for watching moves with its retina crushing 2560 x 1600 resolution screen and browsing the web, however for £130 less the N7 does that just as well. The N7 has served me well for the last 4 months or so, it lasts me a full days usage and I use it heavily as I travel a lot. My usages contains reading, albeit I a small amount, gaming, browsing, music, IRC, Text based games and watching videos. It'll survive about 6 hours screen time with full brightness and wifi.
Thank you all for your advice, I am fairly certain it will be the N7. It will be a gift and also a replacement for the iPad. I look forward to coming back to this forum when start flashing those ROM's.

I love the 7...sticking with it
Impulse purchase. I have an amazing ereader, a galaxy s2, a laptop and pc.
I've been playing around with the nexus 7 now for almost a week. I have another week before I can return it with no questions asked. What else can this nexus 7 offer me? Should I keep it or return it?
What is everyone doing with their nexus 7 when you have an amazing phone handy?
I'm currently streaming videos online, browse a bit and play some games. I could do this all on my phone.... Right? What makes this more superior? (other than the obvious "bigger screen") why not get the nexus 10? An even bigger screen!
I'm open to ideas and I would love to hear them. I would love to keep this tablet if there's a very solid reason.
I find the 10 inch tabs too big to be truly portable. My tab 10.1 usually stays at home while I take my Nexus 7 out more. I have an s2 but find I'm using the 7 more so the S2 battery is lasting way longer. That in itself is enough reason for me to keep it

I have the nexus 7 2013 now, but have looked at the 10 for awhile. Is it now long in the tooth or still very capable for speed and games?
Is this still a good tablet to pick up? I'm wanting a tablet or a smartwatch, and I like the Nexus 9, but the 7 inch screen and great price are still pretty good. Even if it is discontinued, I still like it, and I would buy it new off eBay or Amazon. I know it has Lollipop too which is a plus and it's a developer Nexus device, so long after Lollipop it will have custom ROMs. Also I've also wanted a Nexus 7, but chose to buy a Nexus 5 over it. I love my Nexus 5, and plan on keeping it at least another year. The battery only concerns me about my phone, 3 hours SOT usually but I think the N7 has better battery? I'll be mostly gaming, reading, and videos on my tablet. A media device.
Do you still think it's worth picking one up?

I would Look at the N-Vidia Tablet. Much better for gaming and not Super Expensive.. or The nexus 7 2013 version. But with that said I still use my nexus 7 . I keep it on my purse for using for email GPS and Google plus while out and about. I wish it had a rear camera thou. I use it at home for xbmc remote. Ohh and i use it at home and away to view my home security cameras while traveling. For my Real work I use my Note 10.1 (2012 version).
Nobody can decide other then you. I Can tell you its either a bit slow on android 5. or there is bugs still in the os..
It's still a great device and I don't see any reason to buy a new tablet. But if I had to, I would probably pick something with more RAM since the N7 feels a bit laggy when I open large PDFs or many apps at once. And more memory would be nice, too. (I have the 16gb version)
EDIT: It's much faster with F2FS now.
If you're interested, I would be willing to sell my Nexus 7 (2012) 32 GB WiFi for $80 + shipping (US only). I bought it brand new in Dec. 2012, and have only used it at home, so it's in very good condition. I even have the original box it came in (plus the cable and charger).
I'm currently running KitKat 4.4.4, but I can upgrade it to Android 5 Lollipop before sending it out if you like.
