After some experiment, here is the guide how to backup .KDZ firmware of your LG Phone and save it for later.
1. open LG Bride
2. Go to Tab Software Update
3. Click on link update error Recovery
4. make sure that u can see hidden files from windows, actually u can unhide at folder option
5. go to C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Local\LG Electronics\LG Bridge\SWUpgrade\Image
here is mine :

as you can see, there is .KDZ files which being download and unfinish , here is the full .KDZ image when download is finished.

How would I use LG bridge to take the copied KDZ file?? Every time I go to download it deletes it and redownload it from the beginning.

You can't make lg bridge to use the downloaded kdz. You can use the copied kdz in Lg UP

I did, I tried a different LG Phone (same type) and it still didn't work
I cant found that folders SWUpgrade\Image,all its unhidden.

I want to post the stock KDZ for the carrier unlocked LG V30 and can't get it.
In LG Bridge, went to Software Update, and clicked on "error recovery". It worked for a minute, then said there were no errors to recover.
It "restores" fine from my backup files, but never downloads anything from LG. The only item in the SWUpgrade folder is a log folder, no image whatsoever.

Yes, it finally did let me download the KDZ. Which I posted here on XDA. But most of the others I downloaded from LG-firmware.com.
Check there.

You mean when initially downloading through LG Bridge?
Post #1 mentions your can copy and paste the kdz somewhere else before it gets deleted.
Also you can find the download url while it's downloading, copy that, and use it to re-download again through browser to another location on your computer.

Before anyone accuses me of not doing a search, I have scoured the internet for a solution but I cannot find it.
So I used TWRP to backup my phone and then installed an Android L preview ROM (Fair enough, right?). Obviously the backup size is massive so I moved it to my computer (Also pretty standard).
I wanted to use my original backup again so I moved the file into TWRP\BACKUP and booted up TWRP. Nothing showed up in the restore menu and when I tried to manually install the .zip it said "Cannot open zip". I've rezipped it, I've tried cwm, I've disabled the md5 thing and disabled the zip signing thing.
What do?
Are you sure you put the zip in the right folder? It should be
TWRP/BACKUPS/yourserialnumber/

I assume the Android L preview is still bootable? If so go into Settings > About phone > Status > Serial number
If not, I would reflash the Android L ROM just to get into the setting menu and retrieve the serial number to try what was suggested above.

Still nothing in restore, still not doing zip install. During zip install I get "unable to open zip file" and for another i get "error flashing zip"

make a new backup. then, go to your new backup, delete it out of the folder it creates, then put your old backup into that new folder.

Also, I just thought. Shouldn't TWRP backups have the .win extension not .zip? You mentioned you tried rezipping the backup?
I remember changing the .win backup extension to .tar to extract and view contents. Check the extension of your backup and use one you have not 'rezipped' if you have that copy.
Please note you cannot flash a raw backup as a zip. You have to restore it with TWRP.

Turns out it was "backups" not "backup". So now it's saying "no partitions selected for restore." So you've solved my issue but now I've got another for you.

when you go to restore it, does it give you a list of things to restore? like system, cache, boot, etc? and is your file extension correct?

No I don't get that list. And for the second question, it is a folder with data.ext4.win(.md5,001,002,002.md5) so I guess so.

If you have the tot file then follow instructions from here and extract following files below..

Files will be extracted as .mbn but rename it to .img
modem.img, sbl1.img, tz.img, aboot.img, rpm.img, boot.img, recovery.img, laf.img
then copy all files to same folder as to where the exe's are

Also copy this to where your files are.
Connect your phone then run D800.bat, select D800 then wait for it to finish. Unplug and connect phone to download mode, then try to reflash your phone.

itried every thing but its giving me error with partitions file cant erase them!!!!

When flashing my smartphone I get an error (S_DA_EMMC_FLASH_NOT_FOUND)
Can I copy the scatter.txt from RC5 to whichever ROM i want as long as it is for the same phone? Basically I have the RC5 but I experienced that the battery is horrible so I wanted to try a different newer OS. Somehow there is an error installing via TWRP the other roms I have in zip but flashtool works fine. These files do not have a scatter-file though.

I will thank for the instruction, because I breaked my phone while trying to flash madOS 8.1.0 (update from april). Before my Jiayu S3 basic (16 GB, 2 GB) worked fine with madOS 8.1 from 2017-12-30. I surely made a big mistake, therefore the phone was dead - no reaction any more.
I found this solution to flash back the stock rom 5.1.1 with twrp. Phone is alive and works.
I think, I have done a big mistake, because all trials to flash madOS 8.1 from april ended with boot into TWRP. I tried flashing to madOS for a long time, isn`t possible any more. Maybe also my old phone has a failure.

I'm trying to flash my S3Adv. (3GB RAM, Kitkat, TWRP 2.8.4.0) with madOS_8.1.0_s3_h560_20180422.zip, but, the "Zip signature verification failed". Before, the MD5 sum is checked and matches. I also checked the file with "zip -T" on my Linux machine and it reports "OK". When the "Zip file signature verification" is turned off, TWRP reports "error executing updater binary in zip ..." What's going wrong? Anybody here who can help?

Nearby: I wiped system, dalvik, cache and data.
Solution:
- Install Flash Tool
- Flash Android 5.1.1 (RC5_S3_16GB.zip)
- Start 5.1.1 to do a basic configuration
- Boot into TWRP recovery which was included in RC5
- Install twrp_20180417.img
- Boot into TWRP recovery
- Install madOS_8.1.0_s3_h560_20180422.zip
(a full wipe is, may be, necessary, but, I don't know, when the full wipe should be done within my procedure - I did it earlier)
- Phone of your ver h90120j you flash rom 20e then phone hardbrick . Connect phone to pc detect driver qualcomm 9008.
- Need microsdcard samsung or scandisk

Download all required files, then unzip.
install drivers, if device not showingin spflash tool(put your pc advanced startup with driver signature enforcement then install drivers)
Stock rom Installation process:
1.Open sp Flash tool.
goto options(located on top left corner)
then select download, in DA DL ALL checksum options tick on both>> USB checksum and Storage checksum(close this window)
2. select scatter-Loading-File from firmware folder.
3. select Download only. (if u select format all+download your imei numbers will be gone)
4. Then click on download button.
5. switch off your mobile, then remove battery and re insert it, then connect
Big right mark will appear after success.
Follow all instructions carefully,
Don't blame me if anything went wrong.

use latest spFlashTool.

I know there are few ways how to change it, but none seems to work for me so far. I have the right drivers (v 1.1.13), but not any program is able to connect to my phone except to SP flash tool.
So my question is. Is there any way how to root this version of andriod?
I have already tried Kingroot, RomasteruSU, framaroot and not even MTK Engineering mode was not able to help me change IMEI.

So my question is. Is there any way how to root this version of andriod?
I have already tried Kingroot, RomasteruSU, framaroot and not even MTK Engineering mode was not able to help me change IMEI.

Hi,
tried to do exactly what is there, but still no luck. I had only APDB before, so I hoped to be successfull this time with MD1_DB.
But what happened. I already had drives and SN writer (2.1504), but downloaded older version (1.1728) anyway. Got into point where phone was connected and in meta mode. The newer version of SN Writer gave me error message pretty fast and calceled meta mode. See SN writers error message img. below.
I have also tried older version, it took bit more time, then it asked me to fill my IMEI for a second time, but ended up with error message again after that. The only thing different was that phone stayed in meta mode. Put second print screen error as well.
Any suggestions?

press and hold volume- and insert usb cable..
