Go to Settings - Data Usage and scroll through the list of apps till you find "Google Play Store" and make sure "Restrict Background Data" is not check and then scroll to "Media" in the app list and make sure "Restrict Background Data" is not checked. See if that helps. If not come back and let me know what happens and well try a few other things.

no if i search for youtube it doenst find it
Me too!the youtube had disappeared.
mee too
solution is find it with titanium backup, uninstall it, and now you can download it from market
dissapear too google earth, google books, voice and some more and this don't apears on market before uninstalling it, but appears in titanium backup
I tried it for.other apps. Like books and voice recorder but it only worked with youtube?
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA Premium App
I only tried with youtube, these other apps I dont will use and dont try with these. and I uninstalled it, these apps appears like youtube app in titanium backup
edit: I tried install google voice and google earth and no problem for me
I had a same problem on my Nexus S, what I did was, I navigated to /system/app/ folder on my phone with ES File Explorer, found the YouTube.apk and reinstalled it from there!
PS. Android Market and my phone showed the application as installed, and all options were greyed out (Open, Install, Uninstall)!
I fixed it with ep file explorer. Fix the youtube app
But still have problems with voice recorder thinkfree office and others that wont install and show up in my menu.

Try downloading an uninstaller app from the market.

What is that? Can you give me a name of one?

I cannot uninstall it with a free app. Google vpice or thinkfree are not even visible.
I can only see these apk files with ep file.explorer

My odd solution:
-Download GApps from Rom Manager...or wherever
-Flash GApps via recovery
-Reboot (Still no YouTube...)
-Go to Market
-Re-install Youtube from Market
When my YouTube "disappeared", it "appeared" in the Market as installed but the Open and Unistall buttons were greyed out. The icon in the drawer and the widget option were both gone.
I don't have that Think Free Office icon either in the apps drawer, but the TFO is installed in my phone. I was little bit confused about that thing, but now I see it's a common issue...?
I find it in xoom forum, thought it might help
If you have had a problem with the missing YouTube and/or Google Books applications, we have a workaround you can try.
Connect to WiFi network. (So far it looks like only WiFi Xooms have had this issue. Let me know if you have this on a Verizon Xoom.)
Go into Settings > Applications > Manage Applications
Go to the "All" tab and then scroll down and select "Google Partner Setup."
Clear Data.
Reboot your Xoom. (That is, turn it off and on.)
If this doesn't work, perform a factory reset (Settings > Privacy > Factory data reset) and try the sequence above again.
Please let me know how if this works for you.

[Q] "The item cannot be installed in your country" - Marketplace error

i can't seem to install most apps from marketplace, eg angry birds. It prompts me that it cannot be installed in my country (Malaysia) but i was able to download it on my Galaxy S before and i can even download angry birds and other apps on my Samsung Galaxy tab without any issues. What's the issue with Iconia A500? Anyone with similar issues?

same issue with me in indonesia.
it is like the market is very limited to our region
same in Saudi Arabia for some apps. also somehow, I couldn't find a lot of essential apps like flash player
Also in Jordan
i bought the ACER A500 yesterday & i don't have full download access either on many of the apps any solution!? it does not make sense google has just opened the paid applications segment to many countries including Jordan last week!
Could someone here help us please...
P.S. my phone has no problem in downloading any of the apps free & paid!
To access the market in unsupported countries you will have to set up a vpn to connect through. If you connect through an american vpn you will have full market access

hey everybody, major props to all the devs and everyone helping out on xda in general. So the whole "country" issue when it comes to installing apps is the same in dubai. I rooted my a500, installed tor n orbot and got them working with firefox... also installed marketenabler, not exactly sure about how its supposed to work... I long press any of the fake networks and choose the "run now" option. What's the right thing to do next? Total android noobie here and any help would be most appreciated. Thanks guys
If you can compile a small list of apps that you would like to download that are free (or not free if I happen to have them) that you would like to obtain, let me know and i'll place them in my Dropbox for download on here. Since i'll be doing this from my own account, though, try to keep the list to a minimum. So discuss the list amongst yourselves and try to narrow it to no more than 5-10 apps and i'll see what I can do!

Edit:
Something else you can try is www.4shared.com. If you search for apk files you may have pretty decent results too.
I have noticed that the Google Market on Android 3.0 is much more aggressive in enforcing the location limitation :-(
I was able to overcome the limitation and download some US-specific apps by following these steps on an rooted device:
1. run Market Enabler and choose a US carrier
2. make your tab location-blind by going to settings / location & security / uncheck all of the following: "use wireless network", "use GPS" and "use location for Google search"
3. go to Settings / Applications / Manage Applications / All / Market. Click "Force stop" and click "clear data" (AFAIK, no important data will be lost, Market will retrieve the list of installed Apps automatically)
4. Activate US VPN account
5. run Market.
I now can download all types of goodies. Your mileage may vary. HTH.

That's one heck of a generous offer and finally a solution... for some. Btw I think this is the first time this country/appmarket problem has been resolved. No other sound sources for a solution on the internet. You gentlemen r rockstars.
Which makes the persistence of my problem all the more frustrating. How would u suggest I use a U.S. vpn? I tried bestfreevpn since it obviously worked for the last post-er. Nothing happened, app market wouldn't stop 'loading' and internet browsing also stopped working (the telecom big brother in dubai is hitler on steroids, I'm sure they've got every thing to do with this and every other global tragedy). Anything I can do with orbot, tornetwork? Coz I tried accessing the app market thru firefox and it thought my IP was based in germany. I've also created a U.S. based gmail account but that didn't make any diff either.
Again, sorry for the noobieness and thanks.

[guide] how to enable us market and enjoy all support of books/magzine on your nexus

Hello There
I have read about people asking about how to install google books, magzines, movies. music or how to use those features which are restricted due to their country. Well, this is a guide by which you can change your country as default and then you can enjoy all the applications from a particular region you choose.
The best part is that
NO ROOT REQUIRED OR ANY OTHER KIND OF MODIFICATION.
INSTRUCTIONS :
1. Download TunnelBear version free from Google Play or any other VPN service which allows you to select a specific country.
2. Sign up and then log in to Tunnel Bear.
3. Once logged in, enable TunnelBear and then choose a region. Suppose you choose US.
4. Wait until your phone has been connected to TunnelBear VPN.
5.Go back to your home screen. Do not close it or use task managers that might kill it automatically.
6. Force stop Google Play in Application Manager from Settings.
7. Clear data and cache
8. Open Google Play Store. Accept the Terms & Conditions of Google Play Store.
9. Once you are connected to US Google Play, you may disconnect Tunnel Bear as I think it has a limit.
10. Enjoy reading magzines, books and other applications
11. To revert back, simply clear cache and data again after force closing Google Play.
12. Use WIFI and disable your 3g/4g connection. I am not sure if location causes any problem but if doesnot work for you, just go into airplane mode and use WIFI till you get US market.
This works without root but fast internet, latest google play firmware, root is recommended in order. (It should work without root but if it doesnot, make sure your internet speed is good and/or upgrage your Google Play. Also, if you are unable to connect to US market, try doing the 6-8 steps again.
GOOD LUCK AND ENJOY
I read this somewhere online and I can not remember it. I only wrote down the steps in my own words. Credit goes to the author and who found this trick!
I would not be responsible for any harm caused by this if you can not follow the instructions properly
I did see this concept in many different places do don't worry about the author cause there are tons, I tried it a while ago with a different VPN app but I will try the one u mentioned but my WiFi wasn't fast enough and the store wouldn't load

Are you rooted ? If yes, open titanium backup (search market) and you will see the apps frozen. Just unfreeze them. Open proxy while opening the Movies. Once inside, turn off proxy. Tell me if that works for you!

Stopping Maps from updating. no auto updates option.

Hi guys, I downgraded google maps to the last non sucky version.
However, in Google Play there is no option to to un-check "automatic updates"
I need the rest of my apps to update automatically as i alpha/beta test other apps.
Anyone know a way to manually exclude a certain app from updating?
thanks!

If you're rooted and have titanium, you can break the market link with titanium backup.
Just selecting "Update over Wifi only" solved most of my auto-update troubles.

Download apps only on WIFI

My data plan is limited and I prefer using my PC web browser to find new apps in playstore to install.
Is there a setting, an app or mod to use so that my note 3 will only download apps when it's on wifi?
i think you have that option in playstore it self.
under setting, auto update apps

I think this is something you can decide before installing new app. Except for updates were done automatically. Unless you are saying new apps are installing by itself.

No, what I mean is I'm using my PC browse playstore and clicked install on the apps I want to use it on my note 3. In current situation, my note 3 will then automatically download and install the apps on the 3g network which is using up my limited data plan.
Is there anyway to make it such that my note 3 will only download and install the apps only when my note 3 wifi is connected.

Maybe you can add them into wish list then install manually from Note 3 when its connected to wireless.
When you click install mean, you are telling your phone to download regardless wifi / data
Either both way from mobile device / PC

On the phone Playstore settings set update app over wifi only. Then on the PC browser login with the same google account on your phone playstore. Then on PC browser playstore go to any app you would like to install, click install, the particular app will be installed in your phone instantly.
This way if your phone is on 3G still it wont download the app. If you’re not connected to any data network, next time when you will be connected, the app will download right then.
I’ve been doing this for long as phone playstore is hard to read app details and user reviews. Hope this will help.

Currently my apps update only download when I've enable WIFI and I want my apps install (triggered by PC browser) to behave the same way.
I don't understand what you mean in bold as my current experience is my phone on 3G will download the app almost immediately upon clicking the install button in playstore via my PC browser.

In the playstore app on my phone, the Auto-update apps is already set to Auto-update apps over Wi-Fi only. On my PC browser, I'm logon with the same account as in my phone. When I click on the install button of an app, my phone on 3G download the app almost immediately. My setup are the same as you but I'm getting a different result as you've mentioned.
Would like to highlight again, apps that have been installed on my phone only download updates when my phone wifi turn on, I would like to have this behavior to apply when I clicked install new apps on my PC browser.
I can't test it right now because providers do not appear to be aware of thw existence of reinforced concrete houses. (G, 1 bar... If I'm lucky.)
But try this:
Turn on Restrict Background data for Google Play Store, Google Play Services and Media under settings > Data Usags > the app in the list > restrict background data (all the way at the bottom).
