Hi V20 owners.
When you plug into your headphone jack, do you get any kind of message on the V20's screen like the LG G5 with the Hi-Fi Plus would give? See screenshot below...

I ask because I have the G5 now and am considering going for the V20. I use my phone for playing music in the car a LOT and I use Poweramp to do so. Poweramp has a cool feature that auto pauses music playback upon UNPLUGGING, and vice versa, it can auto resume playback upon PLUGGING IN. But with the Hi-Fi Plus module in use on the G5, this message comes up and essentially kills the auto resume feature. So I'm just curious if anything like this happens on the V20 too...
No it doesn't

Awesome, thanks.
Can someone do me a small favour and install Poweramp's trial version and tell if the auto resume feature works? By default it's disabled, but the setting is in Settings > Headset/Bluetooth > Resume on Wired Headset.

Auto resume does work on Poweramp on the V20, at least on the Poweramp beta it does cause when I first got the phone and set it up, O didn't realize that auto resume was enabled zo when I plugged the auxiliary cable from my car stereo into my V20, it scared the hell out of me cause I wasn't expecting it and the stereo volume was turned up.
As is usual with LG and Samsung devices, the max volume is turned down some upon plugging headphones or an auxiliary cord into the headphone jack.

Haha, awesome!

Firstly, I would like to stress what an excellent piece of kit the Jabra "Dog Tag" BT3030 is. The music sounds awesome and to say I was pleasantly surprised is an understatement.
However, the issue I have is that whenever I change song via the Dog Tag, the Touch HD "wakes up". You can imagine that this kind of defeats the purpose though, as I don't want the phone to be active when it's in my pocket and I'm running around.
Is there any way to stop it waking up?
Bump for help
uh, i wanted to know that too, but anyway i'm getting used to it...
my solution now is use S2U2, which it wakes up at its "Slide to Unlock" screen and won't do any harm..
I see the same behavior with mine when I press pause or play but I don't use that set daily anymore.
I now use a set of Phillips SHB7100 which is brilliant. The wires are integrated into the lanyard which was my bigges issue with the Jabras.

One strange thing tho is that the Phillips do not automatically connect A2DP when the autopair. They only connect as a headset for phone calls the I have to manually connect the A2DP. Annoying but worth it.

What do you mean by this?
One of the main reasons I wanted the Jabra BT set was because I could use my own headphones. I'll be changing the chain though when I go back to Bahrain!
In terms of solving the original issue, I've enabled "Device Lock" on my phone. Not an ideal solution but it's OK temporarily
The headphones can be released from the receiver and the layard can be separated.
These pictures should clear that up.
It's the same for the Jabra Dog Tag
I have another issue now - using the device lock, when the phone wakes up, no buttons are pressed. However, because the screen stays on for at least a minute, the battery drains rapidly. I need a proper solution to the initial problem, if any charitable soul can help me
Unless my dogtags are weird, the headphones on them are separate loose and kinda free to roam so they get annoying for me.

Oh THAT's what you mean! Fair enough then but I'm sure I could find a custom lanyard if it bothered me that much
What's the best bluetooth stereo headset for the gym/working out...? I want something that is a very minimal design, nothing that's is padded, etc..
Thanks
S9 HD
I have Motorola S9 HD and I love the sound quality.

i'm interested in these, i've read they're supposed to be very good for gym/working out (stand up against sweat) but i've been trying to find an unbiased review on them without shelling out 130$
nexus one being newer also, its not showing on the compatibility list, but i assume it would have no problem with these or vice versa
I have a sony-ericsson hbh-ds220 which has served me well for a number of years - I liked it coz it has a 3.5mm socket so you can use your own headphones.
the power button just started playing up, probably got too much sweat in there and its corroded now so I am on the lookout for something else with a socket and suitable for the gym.
Best Bluetooth headphones for music and the gym
The best solution to listen to music wirelessly but stay connected to your phone is here: mi-sport.net
You can put 4gb worth of music directly onto the headphones, get voice cues to guide you through playlists and albums, but still stay linked to your phone for calls. It`s also fully waterproof for the gym - or swimming. For me, this is far better.
I have the LG HBS-250 headphone. It does the job in the gym. Good clarity music and good for taking calls occasionally. One thing I hate is mute function. It keeps on beeping when on mute. But for 35 bucks I can't ask for more.

It's compact and it comes with an FM radio. And it has a 3.5mm jack so you can use any of headphones you like. Battery life is excellent and the OLED screen tells you the caller ID (phone numbers only though). It can be paired with 2 devices simultaneously. So if you pair with it with a gaming device, say a PSP, and there is an incoming phone call, it automatically switches to the phone so you can answer the call with one click of a button.

Is there any audio fidelity lost when using this bluetooth adapter? I mean compared to having the headphones connected directly to the phone.
I'm not an audiophile but I know that all bluetooth headsets lose audio fidelity more or less. IMO and also according to the reviews, the MW600 loses very little and the loss is very unnoticeable.
hey
just got an x10 from rogers
i have a pair of dre beats solo, they have the mic on the wire as u can see there. it has hte up/down volume and a silver button in the middle to answer calls.

anyways when i plug them in to listen to music everything sounds really echo-ey and distorted, however when i press down on the middle button on the wire of the dre beats it sounds like regular headphones.
note this only happens with my dre headphones. tested it with regular headphones with no mic on the wire and it sounds fine
wondering if theres any way around this without having to swap out the wire on my dre's..
---- also on a side note does anyone know how to get the dre headphones working as a headset becuase i cant take calls using it, it wont work for some reason.
bump anyone?
Have you tried your head phones on a different phone? Sounds like it might be a problem with the head phones rather than your handset..??
It's a problem with the phone. similar problem has also been reported with iPhone earphone. solution: use another cable or don't use it
Solder the answer button pins straight, without the button.
Its a problem with the phone, because I have the Dr Dre bets studio headphones and they work fine when I used them on my Blackberry but on the Xperia they sound horrible. I think the phone just doesn't know how to register them if that makes sense because even on my BB I had to manually switch to headset mood in the music player to make them work. Well it doesn't really bother me because the difference between the solos and the studios is that the studios come with a extra wire without a mic and the headphones work GREAT with those.
yeha its a problem with the x10 and not my headphones, which i use for my laptop and touch pro 2/5800 etc.
i'll have to buy another wire which doesnt have the mic built in. another solution ive found is using a headphone jack splitter (wire which plugs into the headphone jack and allows 2 pairs of headphones to be connected to it) allows it to work fine as well.
thanks for the help
Is there a bluetooth headset w/ mic and 3.5mm jack?
I have an Ipod shuffle and a defy and I want to use both, I don't want to use my defy as a music player and having 2 headset is a no no neither
Does this combination exist or are there any way for it to be done?

Bluetrek Musicall
I picked up a Bluetrek Musicall at Frys for just under $50. I use it at work paired with both my deskphone and my computer, if I'm listening to music on the computer and the phone rings it breaks in. The little dent at the top is the mic, and the headphone plugs in on the top left. The back is a metal clip and it recharges via USB plugged in to the headphone jack. Battery life is only about 6-7 hours so by the end of the day I'm switching to a cable, and this sounds like typical for these devices. I'd get another one if I need it, works fine.

I saw another design that looks like a dog tag that seemed cool too.
revive?
Does anyone know of a bluetooth device with both Microphone and Headphone jacks? Or a jack that does both (which I could then split out?)?
This one is cheap and customers seems to be satisfied.

I am trying to figure out a way to still adjust the non-BT media volume slider (music note symbol in volume panel) while actively connected to bluetooth. The only media setting I have access to is the BT-volume slider (BT logo in volume panel).
I understand in general that when connected to BT all media playback goes to BT and therefore I shouldn't need access to the non-BT media slider but when I use Waze in my car I intentionally keep it set to use the phone speakers for Waze audio while Bluetooth handles phone calls for me. The issue comes in when my non-BT media volume was set low (maybe I was playing a game on my phone at work...) and I jump in the car after. I forget to turn my non-BT volume up before starting my car and now if I need to use Waze the volume is stuck on a low volume since I can only adjust the BT volume once in the car.
I know I can disable bluetooth, fix the volume and reconnect to the car but that's a pain in the a** to deal with (I do it now).
Bottom line, is there any way to make BOTH media sliders accessible at the same time? I was browsing thru the xposed module database and couldn't find anything useful so I thought I'd ask here. I'm using a stock/rooted Nexus 6P currently on MM but will want a solution for Nougat as well, eventually.
Thank you in advance for any help!
I believe with nougat you can change them individually when I have my headphones on I get all of the sliders but not every time
I can hit the arrow on the right though to bring it down.

That is how it always works. The problem only occurs with Bluetooth. When a bluetooth connection is made the bluetooth volume slider REPLACES the normal media slider. Their are still only three sliders (using your picture as an example). The middle one (music note) changes to the bluetooth one. I want to be able to access all four when there is a bluetooth connection.
It's a little nightmare of mine when trying to automate stuff through Tasker. I searched a little bit and didn't find anything.
