After installing MedroM I got this problem and couldn't connect to google account and every google app would crash if I tried to log in, so I flashed b161 and I still have this problem, even after numerous factory resets, has this ever happened to anyone ?
Yes, it is happening to other guys around here...
In fact is happening to all who flash B160/B161 firmware...
Is not possible to flash any firmware previously to B160/B161.
Workaround is to unlock bootloader, flash twrp, root it, reflash oeminfo for your device,
and after that you can flash another firmware again.

i'm in the same situation, i tried to do what you've said, but twrp says that the installation failed. how can I have play store working again? please help, this situation is driving me crazy!
i'm on c900 b161.
I had the same issue. I did a clean flash of the new 161 update and that made my device a C900. I have a Eurpoean model (T-Mobile Germany).
After 2 days of trying different stuff, here's what gave me a functional device with TWRP and Root back:
-Back up any data you want to keep, obviously.
-Reflash stock ROM (put UPDATE.APP on your dload/ folder on the separate SD card, then boot into the update function by turning the phone off and then holding Vol+, Vol-, Power. Just wait until it's finished.
-Unlock Bootloader again
-Download the Toolkit: http://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-p9lite/development/europe-vns-l31-toolkit-bootloader-t3432873
-Flash TWRP through the toolkit
-Boot TWRP and root
-In Android, enable ADB
-In the Toolkit, go to Dual Sim>Individual and select the appropriate custom.bin and oeminfo.img from the thread of the toolkit. For my European one it was L31 SS C432. Press flash and grant Root permissions on your phone.
-Turn off your phone and flash the stock ROM again like in step 1.
-If you want root, you need to unlock the Bootloader again, flash TWRP and then root it from there.
DON'T WIPE ANYTHING IN TWRP OR YOU WILL HAVE TO START ALL OVER AGAIN!
Don't ask me how I know.
Hope this saves someone from wasting their time with this nonsense like I have.
No need to touch the oem stuff, just extract the boot.img and system.img and flash through adb, for dat you need bootloader unlocked and fastboot drivers then you can downgrade firmware and fix your sign problem or just wait for a new firmware

That would be much simpler, I didn't consider that. Would you mind writing up a guide?
I've had the same issue and have resolved it pretty easily,
i did the following steps ;
- download both medrom versions
- do full factory reset
- install medrom v1
- do all settings of google etc
- reboot recovery and install v2
- wipe dalvik and reboot
-- all works now except for the forceclose on facebook
ps : this answer is also in the thread ( not as extended as this but it's there )
Edit : some other apps are Force closing to, my guess is that there's a shared resource of some kind that's corrupted or something..

Force closing is caused by the oeminfo in my experience. Can you check in the "About Phone" section which build number your phone currently has? Should be something along the lines of "VNS-L31C432B161" where C432 indicates the region code.
since I am Running MEDROM v2 it shows just that. However , I do know it is based on b161

I got my P9 Lite from Congstar in Germany. I didn't knew, that the device would be branded by Telekom. I flashed the B161 and couldn't connect to any google account. Thankfully updating the webview apk via apk mirror solved this problem. But this leaves me with 2 questions and maybe you could answer these...?
1) Do you know which stock rom would work the best with my device (VNS-L31 without the possibility to use two sim cards ) and where I could download this stock rom.
2) Is the B161 supposed to work fine after solving this issue or are there other problems with it?
I would be really happy if someone of you could help me. :good:

1) The best stock ROM would either be, well, the stock ROM, or the Revolution ROM.
2) I've had some strange behavior with Relay for Reddit and frequent crashes of WhatsApp when sending messages. Right now I'm on Lineage OS 14.1 and it's really great. Camera's a bit slow, but otherwise I love it. I missed stock Android.

Thank you, tomorrow I'll test if Whatsapp working fine or not, that's important for me. Is Lineage 14.1 the most stable Lineage version?
Nougat is still in beta, yes. The full version is expected to come out within the next few weeks.
14.1 refers to the Android version which is 7.1.1. They adopted CyanogenMod's naming scheme. You'll still need to update LineageOS to get bugfixes and such. The dev releases a new update every 2 or 3 days, just check their website periodically.

hey guys i found custom ROM for d858hk version which is here
http://bbs.gfan.com/android-7892224-1-1.html
can be translated through Google but we need someone to explain to us in details.
I might able to help, I can read Chinese
let me know if you want any explanations.
it's based on lollipop 20d
- v1.0 LED not working, and this v2.0 fixed the problem
- rooted, superSU v2.46
- once you flashed the ROM, no need to flash the ROOT again
- busybox is in the system and no app not there
- works on D857 858 and 858HK
- it's a LIGHT version, there are functions that are deleted, like weather widget for example
- including deleted app inside the ROM, and could recover yourself
- app can write data to external SD card
- split view works for 3rd party app
- smart cover function removed, user can download the "deleted app" and put back into the system to get it working
deleted apps
http://pan.baidu.com/s/1mg86X6o
HOW TO FLASH
FOR D858HK
1. ROOT
2. install TWRP 2.8.1.0
3 Reboot to TWRP 2.8.1.0 and upgrade it to 2.8.5.1
4. Flash ROM using this newest TWRP
D857 and D858
1. ROOT
2. download build.prop.zip, extract, using ES explorer to replace the one in "system" folder
3 flash D858HK 's TOT (http://bbs.gfan.com/android-7502599-1-1.html)
4.install TWRP 2.8.1.0
5. Reboot to TWRP 2.8.1.0 and upgrade it to 2.8.5.1
6. Flash ROM using this newest TWRP
Do "double wipe" after flashing the ROM, otherwise might have FC messages
Thanks alot i think this will help ...will try it now
but can we install twrp when in lollipop as i am now on lollipop
any ideas?
maybe these
http://bbs.gfan.com/android-7677473-1-1.html
one click Recovery installation
need to be rooted
1. extract files to computer
2 connect phone
3 turn on usb debugging
4. run Recovery.bat
---------------------------------------
old temp way, didn't say if it works on L or only KK
http://bbs.gfan.com/android-7727191-1-1.html
So...can any of you fluent Chinese speakers/readers help with the actual downloading of the ROM? It seems the rom is available at http://pan.baidu.com/s/1mg86X6o, but I get a little overloaded and can't figure out how to download from there. It seems to want me to log in, but I can't figure out if there's a non-login download ability lurking somewhere?
Do you have some screenshoots ?
Two things. First, I had the wrong link before. Correct one is: http://pan.baidu.com/s/1sjoKe4l. Second, I realized the reason is that the zip file is over 1GB and they force you to a "download butler". So the login thing is related to copying that file into your (QQ, for example) account and then you could download the file from there.
If anyone with a D858HK is interested, I was able to install this custom rom on my phone without any problems. I followed steps elsewhere to root (the one click version) and install TWRP. The rom is basically a slim version of the standard lollipop rom. If you end up deciding to install this, be aware that the Google Contact Sync app is not included within the rom and you'll need to also download the "deleted apps" zip file mentioned in the same post (link in OP). In the "deleted apps" zip, you'll want to grab the Gooogle Contact Sync apk and install that ... otherwise you can't get your contacts copied to the new rom. There were a bunch of other apks, but this one the only one so far that seemed like it shouldn't have been removed from the rom.
FYI, here are the version details of the rom:
Android version: 5.0.1
Baseband version: MPSS.DI.3.0.c6.2-00011-M8974AAAAANAZM-1
Kernel version: 3.4.0
Build number: (some chinese)1121561(more chinese)
Software version: D858HK20d-HKG-XX
So in total its not worth installing it? But anyway, thanks for your report!

I guess that depends on how easy it is to remove LG's bloatware and whether or not you need all/any of it. I personally didn't care for it anyway. But yeah, other than that, nothing special about the rom.

i believe there's a thread somewhere in this forum (http://bbs.gfan.com/forum-1508-type-10913.html) regarding d858 MIUI, could someone confirm? Thanks
Edit
twrp flashh from MM
has anyone successfully flashed TWRP from an MM rom i tried it and i got bricked and i cant seem to find one for MM only for LP

My LG-D858HK phone hard bricked:
What happened/how I hard bricked the phone. I'd already rooted the phone with Marshmallow and then tried to flash phone TWRP by (mistakenly) using https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=b007.autorecd858hk when it hard bricked the phone. Now, the phone screen is black/blank and blue/red LED light flashing.
In addition, my PC doesn't recognise phone when plugged into USB port/s. Pop-up on PC screen says; “The last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned and windows do not recognize it.” And in Device Manager, I see a ‘yellow triangle’ next to LGE Platform Android Composite USB Device Driver.
I tried different methods to go into download mode and I’m not sure if any worked. Because, obviously, I can’t see anything on the phone screen to carry out procedures to fix phone in download mode. Moreover, I’m not even sure if the phone goes into download mode apart from a sound made from PC and the pop-up straight after.
PC always recognised phone when plugged into USB port/s before it was hard bricked.
I work at a shop and someone brought me a Yoga Tab 3 8" tablet that was on a screen that asked for an original google account.
It was purchased without much thought because i figured it was just part of the setup.
No this is actually a Device Protection feature google has had since Lollipop apparently.
There is a way around it if anyone is interested or is in a soft brick that they can access the recovery from.
NOTE :
THIS IS FOR THE YOGA TAB 3 8" YT3-850F ONLY!!!!! I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU DESTROY YOUR TABLET! PLEASE BE CAREFUL. DO NOT FLASH ANYTHING FOR WRONG MODEL. CONFIRM YOUR MODEL NUMBER BY LOOKING ON THE BACK STICKER BEFORE PROCEEDING.
You will need :
A Computer
A Micro SD Card and Adapter
A couple of hours time
Patience...
Patience........
Firstly, as always, make sure the device is charged before attempting any of this please.
Download the stock firmware from This Link.
Do not extract the firmware at all or rename it, just leave it as it is, it will take about an hour to download.
After you have the firmware downloaded move the zip file to the root of the MicroSD Card on the computer.
Eject the SDCard from the computer and put it into the Yoga Tab.
Reboot into recovery by pressing Power and Vol+ let go of Power when you see the Lenovo logo.
Once in recovery go ahead and do a factory reset/data wipe.
The next step is to actually flash the zip you put on the MicroSD earlier. You go down to apply update from SD using the Volume + and -
buttons. Power to select an option. Select the Zip you downloaded from this guide.
it will take approximately 20-30 minutes to fully install the update. after it installs it will boot up like new again, with no Google Device Protection, and it is a possible way to unbrick!

It looks like a modified package from China. I successfully installed the zip file. After rebooting, the version noted was YT3-X50F_S000022_150714_PRC (which I presumed to be People's Republic of China). The update zip does not contain any Google apps (including Play Store).

Sorry for the delay in my response, but yes, this is correct. Just flash the Google apps and you will be good to go. I'm not sure where I found the firmware but there is a link there to the download. I'm pretty sure I just dug around google alot and found a post to the firmware somewhere else on XDA but to tell you the truth it was actually really difficult for me to get google apps installed and working properly and this firmware sometimes would not flash it would just sit there saying opening update.zip for hours. Good thing the battery life on that thing was amazing.

A good starting point for this is to look into rooting and get a custom recovery. Then you can flash zip files, such as google play store.

You can flash the TWRP for the x50M and then install google apps. The recovery will not stay - it will revert back to stop recovery. Search XDA for TWRP-2.8.7.7_YT3-X50M.zip
Recover, install recovery, root
BEFORE ANYTHING.... unlock your bootloader
Install Drivers for Lenovo Tablet, So Adb can see your device
Open your Adb Command Windows (windows)
Commands!
Adb Devices ------- this should return a device Id # ... if it doesn't your drivers are not correct ....
Adb Reboot bootloader -------- this Should take you to the Big Lenovo Screen (it will stay there, this is fastboot mode)
Fastboot Devices ------- This Should Return The Device Id (except fastboot Device Id #)
Fastboot Oem unlock-go ------- This Should Unlock Your bootloader (allow flashing of custom firmwares, boot images, recoverys etc) THIS WILL WIPE YOUR DEVICE!!!!!!!!!
After unlocking bootloader
Flash this Stock Firmware (if you haven't already)
This is FULL STOCK FIRMWARE ... not an OTA zip...

Custom Built TWRP by Me... Enjoy

(this was based off the Twrp source that metalchef mentioned)
I recommend BOOTING it through fastboot if your only planning on flashing a few things and taking a single backup here and there... if you flash zips ALOT ... then just flash it ...
Fastboot Boot Recovery.img (this is the command you need inside of fastboot for booting recovery)
Fastboot flash recovery recovery.img (this is to flash recovery to tablet)
#Note# you need to put the recovery.img inside your adb folder... or drag and drop it to command window after typing "fastboot boot"
This will allow it to boot from any file path ....
To Gain Root ... Use Kingoroot , Un-intall the Superuser that kingoroot gives you ... get supersu (chainfire) from market and update the binary....
or flash supersu.zip through recovery
( I haven't tried to flash supersu because kingoroot worked) and ive exhausted so much time on the recovery ... im going to take a break ...
Afterwards .... You SHOULD have the device your seeking....

Hello everybody...
This post was created with the intention of helping those people who want to upgrade their baseband version of ZUK Z2+. There are some methods to do this, some of them could erase all your information (qfil) and some others could block bootloader (.zip).
The presented method in this post will not erase either your data or block your bootloader.
Note: when I say "data" I'm referring to images, downloads, videos, etc. This method won't erase any data located on root/sdcard.
Here are the steps for upgrading baseband:
1: Download this ROM and transfer it to you cellphone. (NOTE: It's highly recommended to download it from your PC. I downloaded it through my phone and at the time of flahing, it gave me an error; It said it was a corrupt file. So, download it through your PC.)
2: Go to TWRP and wipe system, data, cache and dalvik cache.
3: Flash the ROM and be patient.
As the aim of this post is upgrading the baseband, some of you might wonder "Is it necessary to boot up so that baseband could be updated?", I don't actually know it. When I installed this ROM at first I wasn't after a baseband upgrade, rather taste it to see how it was (btw, it's the best nougat ROM so far; my humble opinion). So, we could say that you can try not to wait till it boot up, and install your whished ROM right after the first flashed ROM. But I highly recommend you to taste this ROM.
IMPORTANT DATA: this ROM will update baseband to 1.70 version.
There is a more recent version than the one used on the steps above (I do not know whether this version is capable of upgrading baseband or not. I tried to root that version with Magisk 15.3 but unable to). Here is the ROM.
If you decided to taste this ROM you should know that the only available languages are Chinese and English, and flashing gapps' zip won't work. In order for you all to solve gapps problem do the following:
1: Download Google Installer 2.0
2: Install, open and download all fundamental data from Google Installer
3: For contacs app to work properly do the fallowing: go to settings/apps/Google Contact Sync/Permissions, grant all permissions and restart your phone.
This ROM includes some chinese apps, but those can be disabled very easily if you go to apps' window.
LongTap does not work on this ROM.
Thanks to @Not_James_Bond for providing me the GoogleDrive's link of the ROM, since the official website is weibo and it's a little bit tedious download things from there.

Do you seriously think that to change the baseband you need to flash a new ROM ???
It is necessary to follow closely the answers to your questions. Everything is much simpler.

Maybe you got him all wrong. It's the safest way bcz on Zukfans thread some zips lock bootloader so we have to flash unlock img right after baseband flashing. If anyone boots without flashing img he/she may lose his internal storage . So it's imp to flash unlock img before booting up the device right after updating baseband.

So, I just rooted my Huawei P Smart, the 136 update shows up, it does all the install steps, reboots and then says it failed. Do O need to do something on the twrp boot?
Download the full firmware, we lose the option to just update via normal update and we can update with a full system update

Just did that, 2 GB download, tries to install, reboots, goes to twrp, then I reboot to normal system and still says update failed.
Pretty sure you'll need stock recovery to update the "normal" way.

I'm not an expert - I always use HuRUpdater to update. It just requires you to download the (exact) right files, renaming them correctly and (like rooting with Magisk) just simply flashing a single .zip in recovery. In case you try it out, remember rule#1: Always make sure you have a (nandroid)backup.
Here are the relevant lines from my "Huawei-related-findings" text file:
#update
"Depends on how you rooted.
For a successful OTA install your device probably must meet the following criteria
• HUAWEI stock recovery installed
• unaltered /system, /product and /vendor partitions
So if you rooted with a "systemless" method (e.g. Magisk, recent SuperSU) and haven't done other installs/modifications that typically change /system you could try it. And you have to flash stock recovery (i.e. get rid of TWRP temporarily for the OTA install)."

“It's recommended to use a proper custom recovery (with running oeminfo_nvm_server service) like for example*my version of TWRP.
How to use:
Warning: Make sure you know what you are doing and do not flash firmware from other devices.
1. Download firmware files (for official firmware use Huawei Firmware Finder).
2. Put files you want to flash in a seperate folder on sdcard.
Supported zip files to flash are (name must match):
◦ update.zip (use FullOTA file)
◦ update_all_hw.zip
◦ update_data_public.zip
3. Optional: Put recovery.img in same folder if you want to keep custom recovery.
4. Put HuRUpdater zip in same folder.
5. Select*only HuRUpdater*to flash in custom recovery.
6. Follow instructions on screen. Flashing can take multiple minutes.
Problems:
• If firmware includes factory reset
◦ Factory reset is not supported by custom recovery. Therefore HuRUpdater will flash stock recovery before launching factory reset. After flashing firmware and doing factory reset, you need to flash recovery manually.”

Yes, I'm im the same boat - I guess you also get the "can't have connection" error using the FF app. During the last weeks they had troubles with their service regarding hackers and moving to a new server (according to their telegram group), which have been fixed ("all services working normally now"), and many can use it again - for whatever reason some still can't connect. I tried reinstalling the app, using proxies from different countries - still doesn't let me connect.
But their web interface is working: https://pro-teammt.ru/firmware-database/ though you can't check iirc, if the firmware has been approved for your IMEI.
According to this post:

You apparently can download this release (2379) if you own this device/board- though the last time I updated mine (.148) I used the 2079 (154226) one despite owning the exact same device. I'm slightly confused about this
I didn't try the above mentioned update myself.

Hello!
I have unlocked the bootloader of my Mate 10 lite and proceeded to flash TWRP and Magisk onto the device. But in doing so, I get an awful looking screen when I boot the device, so I thought I should relock the bootloader, now that TWRP has been flashed.
...I immediately regretted relocking the bootloader, as the system was inaccessible until I re-unlocked the bootloader and was able to access TWRP and the system again. So my question is, can you lock the bootloader with TWRP installed and still access the system?
Also, if I want to go back to full-stock, I have to download a stock ROM for the system from firmwarefinder and flash it with some tool, correct?

Unfortunately, it's impossible...
You can flash Stock ROM for the system from firmwarefinder (fullOTA-MF only!) using HwOTA, HuRupdater, Huawei Multi-tool (RUFI).
If You want to go back to full-stock with locked bootloader (not re-locked) , You have to flash Service ROM from dload (this process will erase all the data from your device!).

Whew. I got the bootloader AND FRP locked on me, and now I don't have a usable system. So now, I have to rely on eRecovery to download a 3GBs package and hope all things go well...the problem is, I'd need to find a place that offers fast WiFi...my internet is terrible.
EDIT: Got the system back up thanks to eRecovery. I'm not sure if I want to root or install a custom recovery on the Lite. I've realized even more that I should cherish my older phone, my Samsung Galaxy Win. At least this one isn't complicated or protected by Fort KNOX.
When u play with custom roms, u appreciate the customization/optimizations offered by developers, thanks to them. But with the time, u always feel stock ROM was best for this n that reasons. Recent 2/3 times I was able to use Huru Updater to get back to Stock ROM and it worked well (needs TWRP installed, and you may need to switch to other TWRP if u get error from existing)
You seem to be a beginner, so I would suggest to get help from some friends who can do it for you. Or obviously u can try ur self again and again, and learn good things until something finally works for u. You were able to relock bootloader so it means u have the code for ur device for locking/unlocking, save this code on at least 2 different places (email, google drive, dropbox etc.). Then u can easily unlock ur device again, and install Stock ROM etc.

Custom ROMs are the best thing to happen to the Galaxy Win, even if the available choices all have their compromises. But with the M10 lite, I think it's better to stick with stock and mod it. And I'm not exactly a beginner, but rooting the Galaxy Win and modifying it was no hard ordeal. Or the Galaxy Grand for that matter, which I changed its ROM entirely. The Mate 10 lite however, oh dear (wipes sweat).
I've got the system back up and re-fitted it with TWRP and installed Magisk. And yet, when I try backing up the data partition with TWRP, I meet a peculiar error. Excerpt from recovery.log:
Code:

Searching on the internet, I found the solution was to delete the file that stops the operation from finishing. However, using MiXplorer with full root permissions, I...couldn't find the file...? There's only bt_config.bak, bt_config.conf and macbt. Nothing else. What the heck is up with all that?
I'd appreciate a solution to this.

I am certainly not up to what u r indicating so cant suggest a solution, earlier in my reply, I was only
indicating my experience with custom ROMs. I havent yet come across a single custom ROM for mate 10
lite that has no problems. Earlier Galaxy S4 Mini, there was custom ROM which was awsome, not a single issue
But for mate 10 lite camera problem is most common. Stock camera app often doesnt work or partially
works, restart of the app etc. You can install open camera, but it does not give u best shots, and filters.
Other issues are already discussed in every custom ROM thread, so I had to come back to Stock ROM
with magisk to remove any system apps that I dont need plus other goodies that magisk offers u (modules)
Alright, so I am supposed to install 347, but I uhh...can't, because I don't think TWRP is able to do it. What am I supposed to do in order to carry out the update successfully?

I just did your instructions today. All was going well up until installation of the new update. The first time, it rebooted when the progress bar was at 6%, then it rebooted again to the recovery, went up to 6% again before showing this screen:

So I'm back to square one basically.
Also, I can't install updates to the built-in Huawei apps for some reason, even after flashing the stock recovery. I'm not sure what to do with both issues now...
