Hi guys.
I bought an s7 edge which is one of the best devices so far.
I have a problem with the battery drainage...like really.
3600 ma battery is a huge capacity but it can't hold for more than 14 hours.
Android OS is the main battery consumer, approximately 1000ma is the battery consumption for each complete charge which is 1/4 of battery capacity.
I tried everything on the Internet....from permissions to location service to everything.
Nothing worked out for me..
Hope I'll find a final solution for this
Same here. I hope we can find a solution
Does your phone run the latest firmware, try software update. Otherwise, boot into stock recovery (volume up + home button + Power button), then wipe cache. This step helped me to sightly improve battery drain.

If my HD has 20% power left and is running program, it will always power off without low power alert after a few minutes. Then, you must recharge it for power on.
In addition, I found that the refresh interval of power indicator looks slow, in other words, after it has been charged and run for a while, the power indictator is still 100%.
Can anybody tell me the reason and how to resolve it? Thanks!
Are you using the original battery?
Battery level is rather inaccurate, especially with 3rd party batteries, so don't take it for granted.
The battery is certainly an original battery.
Is there a possibility that the issue is relative to ROM version?
I have a experience that I flashed a rom of version 21109 into my HD, the issue occured every time. Afterward, I reflashed a stable rom of version 20769 back to it, the issue has never occured. But, several days ago, I flashed the newest radio into my HD, after that, the same issue occured anew.
I'd blame the battery, if it dies when your unit reports 20% charge, it must be in a pretty bad shape. If you can find a spare battery, give it a try...
was anything more found out about this? I also find my battery indicator very slow to update....soft reset my device and lost 5% power according to the battery...I have even had the reverse effect after a charge,....soft reset after a charge and seen MORE power than indicated.
This is making me paranoid and search for every last tweak to save power but it might be that the indicator is wrong in the first place - ideas?
Charge the battery full and let it drain to zero, and one time again.this should recalibrate the powermeter.
or your battery is old and broken...if you often charge your device when its not even required the battery will loose power and be dead in a very short time.
i know my english is not the best, hope you understand what i mean
Hi all ,
I updated my firmware on my Galaxy S5 using ODIN.It was just from an older 4.4.2 to a newer 4.4.2 firmware. I only reset phone to default factory settings via the stock settings i I did not install CWM and delete dalvik cache before flash.
Anyways since i updated firmware when i charge my phone it goes very festeringzeevsxD xDhot5. Furthermore the batt indicator percentage takes a very long time to go up cede l %. If i plug the phone into a pc usb slot (where
Top the current is much lower than a usbt c wall socket charge) the b Bo battery % actually decreases instead of charging.
If i put the phone in ultra power saving mode it charges properly and quickly. My phone doesnt eat much battery when in idle mode. Eats like 5% every 7 hours idle. But when i use it the battery drains quick.
I'm guessing it must be a service thats draining the batt when using
the phone. And when i flashed the phone not all the settings were wiped?Maybe a file config stayed back and is making the battery drain?
My question is how can i fix this issue?
How would i make sure my phone is totally reset so that there are no settings/files from previous install that could be eating my batt life?
Any suggestions/ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks for reading n help
terrible battery life after minor update on 8/21/2015
first of all my phone is completly stock not rooted everything was fine after the lollie pop update great battery life everything was running smooth no issues now after this minor update on friday my phones battery life is terrible i cant even get a day out of it i have no clue what the update was for am i going to have to wipe my phone out and start from scratch ? anyone else have this issue with the latest update?
Same. Battery seems to drop almost 30% right off the get go. 4 hours max life as opposed to before, almost 18 hours with constant use. I charged 100%, removed the battery, discharged the phone, and did a hard reset with no luck.
You must Factory Reset in stock recovery (power off, hold volume up and HOME key and power on) and delete cache also.
Looking for some insight on battery drain.
Recently my phone updated and I lost WiFi .
My warranty just expired so I decided to root and go custom rom.
First I installed exodus 5.1.1 heavy battery drain very slow charge
Tried another now on blisspop 5.1.1 heavy battery drain better charging
Changed kernel to sgs5 ktoonsez kernel
Charges as fast as when I bought it maybe a little slower
Battery drain better but still fast
Added ktweaker and tried most conservative setting
Still drains way too fast
2 hours of web pages and it needs a charge.
I used to get a full day out of it.
Screen at minimum nothing running really.
Any ideas
Greatly appreciate any help.
Thanks
Andy
Try download greenify app and powernap. The two are fantastic apps to make you battery friendly
After a rom change and after this long time using your phone you have to calibrate your battery:
1. Install this app (you need root): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nema.batterycalibration
2. Charge to 100%, let the charge cable plugged in and wait 30 minutes.
3. Open the app, give root permissions if the app asks you and click the "Calibrate now" button
4. Remove the charging cable from your device and use your phone normally. During this time, don't plug in a charger cable or USB cable! You have to wait until the battery is empty (0%).
5. After your device shutted down because the battery is empty, plug in the charger cable, power on your phone and wait until it charges to 100%. Don't remove the cable until it's charged to 100%!!!
6. Repeat step 4 and 5 for a second time.
After that process your battery is calibrated. I hope that's your problem. It's worth a try.
Thank you both I will try all the things mentioned however...
I have flashed another ROM the cyanideL ver 5.1.1-RC-15.6-klte
Then I flashed ktoonsez kernel sgs5 profile balanced bull v4 again of course after wiping etc
And wow fast and smooth. I've never seen my phone this fast and battery life so far has been incredible.
Left the house 100% at 530 this morning its 4 pm now and I'm at 85%
after about 2 hours of usage.
I will also try what you two have mentioned.
Thank you for your help
No problem. And try the newest Version from google play services because that's a very battery friendly version: http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google...ices-8-1-05-2218116-238-android-apk-download/
Delivery reports of SMS are not shown despite ticking in device & ok from net work operators
having tried cm12, blisspop, I found that battery life is better on "almost stock" touchwiz roms ... touchwiz roms are approximately 1.5X better
Hello how are you ? I have a problem with the Galaxy S7 edge, the battery drains too fast, and turns off having a 30, 40%. When the phone has full battery, I enter the rexovery and it has 74%. reinstall fw and cfw, change battery 3 times. , and calibrate it , but I can not fix it.
