Is there a way to completely disable power saver? I think it's been causing my connection issues with my ZenWatch 2 and now Pandora is closing whenever the screen is off. I did done research A's the issue I'm having with Pandora odd usually caused by power management apps. It's getting rather annoying because this doesn't happen with Google Play Music.
maybe this will help you

That worked flawlessly. Thanks. I thought disabling deep sleep would prevent the phone from going into deep sleep

FWIW, I have a ZTE Blade V8 Pro with an identical power management app. I frequently use Castbox, Xiaalive Pro, Neutron, and Google Play Music in the car. When I had power saving on with these audio apps, they would keep playing fine with screen off. However, if you paused them or had other apps in the foreground, it would cause massive headaches with player controls disappearing and having to relaunch the apps from scratch after a screen off. Also causes headaches with my IP Camera and Microphone app I use for a cloud PC. My observation is if your apps are doing something perceptible like playing music or sounding alarms, the power management leaves them alone. Other background tasks and suspended apps don't get the same treatment.

Well but you can exclude them from the power manager

The battery improvement is significant for sure after the update, I also found that using samsung package disabler to freeze some of the app is not causing the battery drain any more. (My personal experience before the update was disabling app using package disabler actually causing some of the battery drain). I will attach the one I disabled right now. So far there doesn't seem to be any effect on battery life. I didn't disable the knox or samsung pay function as I use them quite often. I'm also try to be less aggressive with the app I disable. App that could making the communication in the background I try to avoid disabling them.
Also, I found greenify's aggressive doze function seems to working for me. At least, help extend battery a little bit when not in use. I only open the aggressive doze function and never force it to hibernate app. I also exclude many of my frequently used app from hibernation list.
The apps I have freezed using package disabler
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5iHdAT2Mw5lRjYzUHlXS0FuUmc/view?usp=sharing
I will upload some result tonight.
Hope I can hear more tips from other users. I keep getting about 60% or more left after the update with about 2 hour of sot when I go to sleep compare to maybe 30% to 40% left before the update. I don't use dark theme as I like lighter color. Also, I use chrome browser and listen to a lot of pod cast when I'm drove home. I also try to close the screen when using GPS to save power but my location is always set at high accuracy, I tried GPS only mode but don't think that effect battery life of the phone. I want to use the phone as normal as possible. Different people have different usage, If you using GPS all the time and turn off the screen while using it. The screen on time probably pretty low but still have high battery usage. Therefore, I believe SOT to be highly subjective.
I also read that the best way to protect battery is not let it fall below 40% or 50%. So after some more testing, if I found the battery report seems to be stable after this update. I will just using wireless charger to top it off during work time.

I've had this too a lot. It kills my battery.
I haven't had time to do much testing yet. I think it may be Google Photos. Do you use this and have auto backup enabled by any chance?
Or perhaps something related to the Gear VR software?

I had the same issue, I think it was Chrome causing it. I changed to Chrome Dev and it went away.
I'm pretty sure it has to do with music playing. It shows up if I play music through Google Play Music or other music apps. Google Photos shows up as Google Photos and doesn't seem to affect anything else except for Google Services.

Can confirm. After deactivating Chrome 52.0.2743.98 and exclusively using Chrome Dev 54.0.2840.6, Media Server no longer shows up in battery stats. Battery drainage turned normal, again.
Nevermind. Media Server still eating a bunch of battery. Must have something to do with media playback. Some s6 users reported that using AwesomePlayer solved the issue but that's no longer available in Marshmallow.
Nope, not media playback. I was getting massive drain from it for a week or two and hadn't played any kind of music or videos.
Hello everyone. I've problem about Spotify. While music is playing Spotify closes if I lock my phone. Do you have same problem?

it's working now. thank you mate. I've not restarted phone before. it's Okey now.
I was wondering if all three power management toggles need to be disabled. Could someone test it by only disabling "allow deep sleep" & keeping others on? Thanks
I'm having this problem now too, even with all the power management features disabled
not just a spotify issue. i use play and have same issue. Reboot usually fixes it. started happening with b29 update
I solved my problem by setting up tasker to start Google play when phone connected to
Stereo system in my truck via Bluetooth and seems to have eliminated the problem for me.
This is a recurrent problem with the Axon 7 and it's driving me nuts. You can get Spotify to work by rebooting your phone, but within about a day it's somehow reset itself to turn off when the screen goes off. Disabling all power savings features does not make a difference long-term, or short-term for that matter anymore.
There's over 150 messages about it on ZTE forums. I've contacted ZTE tech support about it and they said they have no timeline for a fix. As Spotify is my main music app, and I bought the Axon 7 for it's superior audio, it'll be going back before my 30 day return window is up if there's no movement or any more acknowledgement from ZTE. Too bad, pretty great phone otherwise.

@masri1987
Hi... I'm not a wakelock specialist. But I would start by uninstalling all apps and try reinstalling one by one to see if the problem still occurs. Otherwise your best option is to post in the official BBS thread here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179809
From the screenshots, it seems like an app is preventing your phone from sleeping.
Just an idea.. Seeing your awake time ~7h and WiFi ~7h... Do you have wifi scanning enabled?
Settings>location>3 dot menu>scanning> wifi scanning. See if it's enabled. If yes, turn it off and see if it reduces the wakelock...
Hoping that helps
it appeared to be my kernel.
Iḿ testing with another rom\kernel combo today
I'm seeing exactly the same wakelock using Chad's Fastest v1.7 kernel and latest Uber ROM.
I've tried changing to Flash kernel and seeing the same.
Did switching kernels fix the issue for you?
You might want to try Franco's Servicely or Nap Time. The former shows which apps can wake up your phone and allows you to kill their background activity and the latter puts your phone in Deep Doze as soon as the screen goes off. It's so deep music apps don't work with the screen off unless you exempt them from power saving.
I want to use a Samsung Galaxy S10E as a motorcycle dashboard.
I was wondering if it is possible for a rooted S10E to:
1.) Auto turn on device when it is charging
2.) Auto turn off the screen when charging stops
And is there a "How To" somewhere within this forum?
You may need to root to do this. Play with this.

I used an app call'd Tasker, because I wanted more than your 2 steps, which you can very likely accomplish if you play around with settings as @blackhawk suggests.
My setup uses an old S4mini for the music player in my VW buggy:
Turning my accessory switch ON starts phone charger which turns on the phone and then opens the music player app which shows a list of songs. I choose a song by tapping its icon on screen. This starts the song playing rotation from that song. Next song will be whatever is in playlist queue (unless I choose to press the Shuffle button, which I do very rarely). List plays till last listed song is done, and then starts playing first listed song in queue (if my drive is that long, usually not).
Turning my accessory switch OFF cuts off phone charger which causes Tasker to close the player app, bringing up homescreen launcher, which shows for 5 seconds (because it lets me see the time, battery level, etc.) and then Tasker's last task is to run a little app that puts the phone to sleep.
Thanks, I know Tasker, but I thought it would only work when the phone is on.
Will try that first then.
