Mine did this. Booting into recovery and doing a factory reset fixed it.

Yes, I used it this way for a few months but eventually unrooted and flashed to U firmware for best performance. Even with all the tweaks out there, the Eng kernel has pretty bad performance.

Had this issue pop up myself, flashed the U firmware after I couldn't get the device to boot past the ATT logo (wiped cache and factory data reset). Really liking the performance on the stock U firmware. Not going to root either until there is a more viable option or a customer recovery gets published for this phone.

if you've done a full wipe and tried either re-flashing your rom or restoring a nandroid and neither was successful, you may need to consider going back to stock via odin and starting over.
i've never seen a phone run on the same rom and kernel settings for months and then just shut down and softbrick without something having been changed recently.

What recovery image are you running? You are not the only one that had this problem. I am trying to piece this together.

PLZ HELP!! Nexus 6p keeps booting into TWRP menu

Today and after deciding to simply restart my Nexus 6P, it booted into TWRP menu, I tried to reboot again, but no luck. can someone please help?
is there a way to get off the TWRP menu and boot my phone normally?
Note: The root used to simply work fine for about a month now.
Did you take an update? Rom details? You basically said you stuck a fork in a microwave and it sparked.

Have you tried wiping the caches and/or data? Have you tried reflashing whatever ROM you're using? Have you tried flashing the factory images with fastboot?

I will have to call you out here buddy. If you have indeed tried to flash all factory images, you won't even have TWRP in the first place.
Go to this wonderful guide by the wonderful @Heisenberg, and scroll down to "10. How To Flash The Factory Images (And Return To Stock)". You will find very clear instruction on how to return your phone to its factory stock state. This will most likely get rid of the problems you're facing.

If you had flashed the full factory images I don't see how it's possible at all to be in your current situation. Explain how you flashed them, and exactly what you flashed please.

What caused the soft brick?

Ok, I sold my S4 i9505 (rooted and stock firmware 5.0.1) on evilbay and it was working perfectly when I sent it. 10 days after it got to the buyer they say it won't boot and want to return the phone. I'm extremely suspicious and would like to know if it is possible to find out if they have installed something they shouldn't have. A phone doesn't suddenly soft brick itself or does it?

I assume bootloop, because she said it was "constantly stuck in re-boot" . She apparently managed to get into Recovery Mode. I haven't got the phone back yet, but wanted to make sure I got all the info beforehand.

Have you done a full wipe before you give it away? Maybe wiped the system partition?

I did a full factory reset and did a quick test boot afterwards - all was ok. I may have wiped the cache partition but I'm pretty certain that that I didn't delete the system partition.
Does it has guarantee? When yes how long it left.
If you get the phone back I would flash a stock rom from sammobile with Odin, reboot and if it comes to the setup wizard you can give it her back .

Ultimately that's what I'll do, but I won't be sending it back to her. I'm already £££s out of pocket.
Honestly, I think she played about with it and messed it up. It took her 10 days to contact me. And since I booted the phone to the setup screen before I shipped it and it was working fine.
But I would like to know if it's possible to find out if and what she did and subsequently prove that

Find your firmware. If yours is G935A model, look for the PG1 fw.
Flash with Odin.
Literally only a few clicks away.
This will wipe everything so I'd suggest trying to see if you can save anything worth saving on your phone to a computer.

You'll need to either flash the stock firmware:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-s7-edge/how-to/stock-s7-edge-attg935aatt2apg1-firmware-t3431187
Or the "U-model" firmware:

Best is if you go back to AT&T and let them know about problem. They may replace your phone.

Don't listing to this guy. Your phone is rooted so your warranty is void and they won't do anything. Try a data factory reset in recovery first and wipe cache. It probly won't work but if it does it beats reflashing. Most likely won't work though. Your pretty much going to have to reflash it with Odin
I did this to mine as well deleting Samsung apps.

Yes on the latest twrp. Idk what the issue is.
Would it be because I'm on 7.0? Idk if that's a thing but I would assume it wouldn't be the case.

Are you using the one for your device from here?
There are 2 variants of the SM-G928R4

Yes I'm sure I'm using the right one for my device. I have never had this issue before.
Went back to twrp 3.0.2.0 and it's fine, I guess it was just the latest release that was the issue.
