I am debating whether or not to buy an unlocked international version of this phone but I do not like all the negative technical issues and battery life issues i see on a lot of forums. I have had android before and would not care to root the phone and flash a better kernel or rom to fix the issues if possible, but I want to know your opinion and also to see if anything has improved recently.
Also if not what phones would you all recommend that is similar to the edge plus?
Thank you,
sv7007
once it gets marshmallow it be fine. s7 be out soon anyway.

Then I should probably wait till S7 edge comes out. I will want the newest and I won't have the money till end of next month anyways.
Wait for s7 my s6 edge plus have two months without any problems but at this time I would wait for the s7
NO don't buy s6 Edge Plus. Buy Samsung galaxy S7 Edge Plus instead. should be out in March. just 2 months left.
galaxy S7 should have a bigger battery.
Do you think they will release one this year? Because I don't want to buy the s7 edge and months later a new s7 edge comes out. I have the s6 edge+ now

This would be doubtful.
Last year they released the S6 Edge Plus mostly to appease users in Europe that wouldn't be getting the Note 5. Their records showed that under 20--percent of users in europe the S-Pen and just wanted the Note device for the large form factor. This is mostly why the Edge+ even got made.
This year however, they have decided to release the Edge itself as a larger device. There is no benefit to releasing an S7 edge plus this year. However, we may see a Note 6 and Note 6 Edge. We will be seeing the Note released throughout Europe as well.

What do you mean with that? Do you for fully real THINK that Samsung will release after few months a NEW Edge? Why the freakin' crap should they when they always released their phones once in a year?
I'd say it's unlikely. I feel as if they're only going to release the Note 6 this summer.
Why?
The s7 edge appeals to both s6 edge+ and s6 edge users with a 5.5" screen. If Samsung were to hypothetically make a S7 edge+ it'd have have a ~6.0" screen for product differentiation. On top of that the sales were not that great with the s6 edge+ in comparison to the note 5. Oh and let's not forget that confusing naming convention they're likely trying to oust.

have you ever heard about s6 edge+? it was released shortly after..exactly
I don't think they will... Simply because why make the S7 EDGE is bigger. S6 vs S6 edge were the same size. the S6E+ was larger. What are they going to do make a even bigger one? I don't think they'll do it this time around.
I only discussed this yesterday with someone who said they were waiting for it before updating. I'll put money on Samsung not releasing a plus variant of the S7.

I really can't see it. The Note 7 Edge is 5.5" so unless they plan to take it up to 6" as I said earlier, they won't be releasing an interim device because it has a bigger screen. And 6" for a phone is too much. As for the camera and storage, neither is a reason to bring a new device out before the S8 in the first quarter of next year. The S7 has expandable storage and comes in a 64gb flavour already in some territories. Why bother with 128gb when it can be expanded via the SD slot for far less money? And the camera is already the best on the market at this time.
The S6 Edge+ made sense, as for some the S6 Edge wasn't big enough and they avoided it as a result. That doesn't apply to the S7 Edge. In short, holding off because you have a good enough device in the S6+ is fine and makes sense. But don't do it because you think they will release an interim device less than 6 months down the line, I strongly suspect you will be disappointed.

I don't think a 6" for a phone is too much. Look at the Nexus 6. I bet you money they will release an upgraded version this year
Samsung cater for the majority. And 6" for the majority is too big for a phone. If they do release another device based on the S7 this year it won't be because it has a bigger screen. And I can't think of what else they'd release one for. I'd take that bet.

Yes I have. And no, they will not make an Edge+ because Edge itself has already enough big screen. That would be an 6-inch screen and there is no way in hell that they will make it.
My theory, and I have no real reason to believe this but it's what I'd do.
Samsung's new line-up:
March release:
S7 and S7 edge, we know these
September release:
Note 6 at 5.7"
Note 6 edge at 5.7"-6"
Each primary phone (S or Note) has an edge variant. Serves different customer bases while keeping everyone happy.

Well Dennis, let's say: inside information!
By the way: did the Note 5 have an "Edge"-variant?
The Note 4 didn't either; it was de "Note Edge", NOT "Note 4 Edge"...
So: your statement "each primary phone has an Edge variant" is not correct.
And your theory about the september line-up isn't either...

Note edge was a note 4 with an edge screen.
I never said that last year or the year before Samsung did what I was suggesting they were going to do this year.
I never said this was anything more then a theory, I should have said a guess. It's just that, what I think they will do. Your 'inside' information may be true. I don't know, and I'm not one to claim any special knowledge when I don't have any.
Wondering about this myself, hopefully they don't release a + version because that would suck.

I'm due a free upgrade in 26 days and am either going with the s7 edge of the oneplus 3 until the s8 whatever comes out. Which would be the better choose thank you.

Go for Galaxy S7 Edge without any second thought. I am now using S7E and previously I used OP3 for a month.

What made you swap?
The S7 edge is a superior device in every aspects imo. The OnePlus 3 is cheap though and gives you more for the money. If you're on a budget, go for the 1+3, it's a sexy device and you'll hardly find a phone that great for $400
If you want the best of the bests though, no matter how much it costs, the S7 edge is the way to go. I've had many phones through the years, always flagships, and my S7 edge is the one I've preferred and enjoyed the most so far. Terrific device!
I wouldn't recommend the S7 though (non edge), the battery is on the "smallish" side imo and isn't that great. Not that it's a bad phone, but the "edge" is the one to get, ideally the Exynos variant.
S7 edge or 1+3, you can't go wrong anyway. The only concern: How much money are you willing to pay for a phone
I tried both phones and decided to use S7 egde, its much better phone, but if you want to buy something excellent for lower price you can go with Oneplus 3.
I really wanted the note 7 waited a month when Samsung decided to pull it... So I went for the s7 edge but still can't help feeling gutted... Anyone else suffering from the not getting the note 7 blues??? ????
yep i know the feeling however there is a rumor that we can get the note 8 for half price when it comes out. cant wait.
What they gonna do with all them note 7s parts do you think?
maybe burry them in nevada as the old atari 2600 ET game catridges...
Ahahahah! Could be
I also feel the same. Was waiting eagerly for the Note 7 and had to get the S7 edge :/

Yep, I love my S7 Edge, but I really was waiting for Note7.
Galaxy S7 Edge Exynos +128GB MicroSD
I'm planning to buy a Samsung Edge S7, but considering Samsung S8 will be out internationally by April 21St, would it be advisable to buy the S7 now?
Thanks
This is really dependant on your current needs.
I use the s7 edge and it's an awesome phone.
If your current phone will do until the launch of the s8 then hold fire if not buy a cheap put you on phone.
Because either you'll like the s8 over the s7 edge and buy it or occasionally once a new flagship phone is released the previous flagship model reduces in cost. So then buying the s7 edge could be cheaper.
