Im stock 7.1.1 rooted and unlocked with the v5 and v6 flashable zips for Pixel features and the pixel home button animation. Before I rooted snapchat was fine but now its saying my login temporarily failed, like it would do if I had xposed framework. ANyone else have this problem or know a solution?

How do I temporarily unroot without erasing data or system?
Also, I tried the full unroot option if SuperSU and my device wouldn't boot and got stuck on Google splash screen until I flashed root again. When I did the unroot option, after the initial "your device can't be trusted" screen, another one of the same kind popped up but this time in RED letters and said my device was corrupted and that's when it stuck on the Google screen so I rerooted it
Have u tried Googling it ?
Like How to unroot using SuperSU
Maybe there's something that u missed. I never personally tried unroot through SuperSU but I have read many peeps doing it that way.

I unlocked the bootloader and rooted my 4.2 version nexus 4 with ToolKit, then got the 4.2.1 OTA update, and updated it thinking my root would be gone but I realized my phone updated smoothly and stayed rooted? Any ideas why? Just curious? Will my phone stay rooted every time? Or am I such a noob that I'm really not even rooted anymore? I mean I still have SuperSU and the tweaks I made while I was running 4.2 rooted?
hey there is an app called OTA root keeper, you can install it and your phone will be able to keep the root.
Btw you are getting the ota update even though you are rooted so its time for me to rooted my device as well. what tool kit you used to root the device and could you give me some info.
thanks

If you have cwm and you install any update that breaks root it will ask of you want to keep root when you choose to reboot the nexus 4.

I didn't install cwm, I stayed with stock recovery, I now realized I did loose my root but I still have the superSU app installed? what are some ways of deleting the app? Would I have to root the phone again then delete it that way? or other ways?

Yep, that was a pleasant surprise.
lost root too
got my nexus 4... 2 days ago, first day I left it stock, second day I decided to route it using the took kit, third day is today and I got the OTA from Google and decided to apply it..rebooted and lost root. I still have busy box installed and super SU...now what? Should i use the tool kit again?
Can anyone help please? Am I going to have 2 super SU apps and 2 busybox apps?
What should I do?
Same happened to me but i rooted using a different methods. I was advised to re root my n4 using the original method (just the rooting part, no need to unlocked as it's already locked) , it worked and I didn't end up with two super su or busy box.

Just reroot with the toolkit, you'll be fine. And you don't have to delete the super su app. You will only have one su app after you reroot .

This is nothing more than the latest beta (5/31/13) which is rooted, deodexed, zipaligned, with an insecure boot.img. The purpose of posting is to provide those who want to start modding/theming a base on which to do so.

Great.
Let the ROM cooking begin.
We need good ROM based of stock firmware with bloatware removed and lightened up
Hey man, this doesn't seem to be rooted properly. When I finished installing, TWRP said it wasn't rooted and prompted me to install SuperSU. I prefer Koush's Superuser and I flashed a zip I had from that, but, you may want to look into why I got that. I'm assuming you used Koush's because there were no other SU apps on my phone, or maybe you forgot to add in root.

I posted on the oppo forums. Superuser is added. Not sure why it's not working. I, too, got the su not properly installed in twrp, but I chose not to fix and all was well. I am using Chainfire's SuperSU...maybe that is the culprit. I will see what I can find.
Sent from my X909 using Tapatalk 2
Well, I didn't do a full wipe and I already had Koush's Superuser installed. So, I think that's why it didn't work for me.
Link is down.

That is a new feature of TWRP...it prompts to fix superuser as a precaution... just dismiss it.

Yeah I know that. My post wasn't about twrp, but about the fact that I didn't have root after flashing. I wasn't the only one that had the problem.

I guess I misread your post....just out of curiosity did you bypass the the prompt in twrp? And if so did you try a root app before flashing your root package? I noticed on the last build supersu wasn't in my app drawer until a reboot for some reason..although it was in system/app and did prompt for priveledges

No I didn't bypass it. I just chose ignore because I thought it was wrong. But when it rebooted Koush's superuser app wouldn't work and I couldn't update the binaries, so I had to manually boot into recovery and flash a superuser package I have on my sdcard. I didn't do a fresh install, I just wiped cache and dalvik. So Superuser was still on my phone, but wouldn't work.

Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere but I was unable to find anything searching for it.
I ended up getting stuck on the Sprint screen loading up trying to do the hotspot mod so I decided just to reflash back to stock and reupdate to MF9. This morning before running to work, I used the CF root (which is how I rooted the first time with no problems) and when I got to work I realized that SuperSU doesnt show up in my app drawer. But it does show up under manage applications. When I try running an app checker tool it just hangs and I have to force close it.
Any idea on how to get this fixed? Would just re-running the CF root when I get home help it?
Thanks in advance!
Have you tried to install super su fro. The market and see if that let's you give root permission to apps?

Yep, that's all it took, I thought I had tried that earlier when I noticed the other I downloaded was Super User instead (which failed) but the actual Super su app saw the original and overrode it and as is well. Thanks for the help! :good:

My brother go this OTA on Friday but i have nothing yet. I did a soft root and have changed the boot anim. Last update I did also have soft root. Is the boot anim enough to prevent the update comming?
It shouldn't unless if you have flashed a custom rom.

Could be, but it would only stop the flashing of the OTA, not getting the OTA in the first place. Easier to just download the OTA file and flash it via adb sideload IMO
Using stock rom.
Will flashing act as a OTA I mean so I still keep settings?
Or will it be like flashing custom rom?

Hey guys not affiliated in anyway but jcase in the development thread got root working for att and Verizon through a simple apk on the phone.. Tested and working great hit up his thread more info

So does root stick around after a reboot? The moto root app showed I wasn't rooted after a reboot. Just came back from iOS so I'm a little rusty
Let me double check.. Havent rebooted since the app rebooted the phone
Sent from my XT1058 using Tapatalk 4
OK just rebooted and root stuck just fine
Sent from my XT1058 using Tapatalk 4
Its not there immediately takes 5 or so seconds after boot to work.. Jcase is aware of the issue though and working on it..
The only downside with that is something like setcpu not being able to set on boot

Also effecting the exposed software since if you do a reboot instead of a soft reboot it kills part of the process
With this root method can you use the exposed mods to remove the ATT icon from top left of status bar? Or does that require a flashable zip?

Check out the motoexposed thread in the android dev section :good:
just being back from IOS, i may hold out on pursuing this till things get ironed out. I installed 1.1 and installed the chainfire su and rebooted to find the andriod on his back with a red exclamation point. Not sure what this meant but rebooted and all is fine so I've restored to factory till future times of solid dev. I donated to jcase so i'll be back once i'm versed in android again.
What in particular was the android pic i saw referencing?
Thanks guys! Good to be back! still getting used to things as you can see

Sounds you like you tried rebooting to CMW or TW recovery. I clicked it to see what would happen and that's what I got. Rebooted normally after that and no issues.
