I have note 4 and i have this issue from couple of days
The charge can't pass 66% even i leave on charge overnight
But when i charge while using phone it pass and go upto 88% and sometimes jump from 88% to direct 100%
My phone shutdown automatically when battery reaches 10%
I tried different chargers including anker quick charger
Different usb cables but same
I clean up the usb port with dry tooth brush but nothing change.
I am rooted stock 6.0.1 and i did calibration by clear battery stats but no luck.
Is this a battery fault or firmware or some kind of hardware issue ?
Should i buy a new battery or any suggestions?
Thank you.

Hi
i'm having a problem.
My phone was connected to the charger when i restarted it. Batter was at 77% and charging... after restargin, it showed my battery charge as 100% and the charging light was green/yellow!!! so is there a calibration problem? What do i do otherwise?
It's normal...
It happens to me also... I think it's the problem with the battery software module. Sometimes because of over charging, the battery gets sooo hot...
just in case get ya battery checked
try this.
Hi,
Even i was getting the same problem. While connected to charger it was showing 100%v fully charged but as i removed the charger, the battery went Red. I thought its a problem with the battery.
But it was the problem with the charger. I charge my cell using Data cable through my computer, and its working very very fine like before. I dont want to waste money on buying a new charger
Thanx,
Sandeep.

Its perfectly normal . Just remove the charger, use the device for a few mins and then recharge.
I left my phone charging overnight via the wall charger. Battery registered at 1% when I started the charge.
When I woke up this morning I had a large low battery icon on the screen and the phone won't turn on. I disconnected the charge, tried charging with another charger but everytime it shows the SAMSUNG logo, then the large low battery icon.
I tried removing the battery, cleaning the charger port terminals, swapped out different USB cords, everything but a hard reset.
No matter what I do the phone will not start up.
Has anyone experienced this before, or possibly no how to resolve it?

Happened to me several times (on both my focuses Rogers and AT&T), and I came to the conclusion it's a bug somewhere in the phone or the battery. I'm not sure exactly where the problem is (software, hardware) but I can tell you how I fixed it.
What happens is, the battery is almost depleted, it actually is 1%. The phone incorrectly reads that thinks it's charged fully and doesn't allow further charging the battery. So, you're not able to charge the battery correctly.
Now, as I previously stated in some other posts, I recommend having a standalone charger (Samsung i9000 ones are compatible are very cheap) as well as a secondary battery. The depleted battery gets charged fine in the standalone charger and when it passes 5% charge, it can be charged fine (again) in the phone.
This doesn't happen often, I believe it happened 5 times in more than 300 charging cycles (2 phones x 150 charges, I have them for over a year) so it's not that common.
I also found that it *may* work if you charge the battery in another phone.
As a general thumb rule, it's important not to leave the battery to completely discharge, and connect the charger/usb when it reaches about 40% (when you can, ofc). Please refer to my post here to see how you can preserve battery life.
Hi, just got an note 3 and im in love with it.
Well, the only problem seens to be the crazy battery (the phone is out of warranty).
When i charge it while the phone is off, it charges to 100% and when i turn it on, it shows 97%. well i tough charge bump or battery callibration (the phone is rooted) would solve the problem. But it didnt
The worse is not about the 97%, but when i charge to 100% and do a battery callibration, the battery lasts for 3 days with moderate use. but when the phone discharge, and i fully charge it while its off, it gets crazy, and it drains all the phone battery within hours.
I would like to know if someone passed for something similar, and if i buy a new battery, it would fix the issue for sure. thanks!
here is a crazy image of my battery info:

when i turn it on, it shows 97%. = Normal
Battery calibration is on the battery via usage .
Deleting battery stats bin is a fools errand .
Try swapping charger and cable .
New battery may fix the issue or flashing clean new firmware or even a new motherboard .

hello. i I bought a new battery (official) and now i have some problems with charging.
first of all when the battery is fully charged and the icon is 100% my phone stops maintain the charge. i mean i can check phone and it will show 100% for all the time the charge cable IN. but when i pull off the cable the icon shows me 88% or smt... then i pull in the cable and wait 100% again... then pulling off the cable and the icon shows me 90-91% already. i do the same thing several times before the icon shows me 100% when the cable is off...
during the day using my phone it stars to lose charge very quickly from about 50%. for example the battery discharing from 100 to 50% within 3-4 hours and only for 30 minutes when the charge is 50-0
i tried different roms eg official... CM12 .. some custom roms... but nothing worked. im using CM13 for now...
help pls
You got a bad battery. I would take or send it back to the store and demand a replacement.
Hi everyone!
My Nexus had a great battery Life at the beginning..after 6 months,it started to last less,so i bought a smartwatch to help the battery last longer; but the things didn't get better. The phone overheat when using maps or play some games just for 10 minutes;when i unplug the charger at 11.30 am in the morning,it goes to a 50 or 40% around 4 o' clock pm in the afternoon just after sending some WhatsApp messages, and after have played 15 minutes..the battery drains really really fast..but worst of all, when the battery reach the 25%,suddendly the phone turns off, telling that the battery have reached 1% and is empty. If i turn on the phone again, the battery percentage indicator is still set to 1%..what's the problem with it?i have a faulty battery?Need to call the Google assistance?
The phone is stock, not rooted or anithing else.
Thanks a lot!
I have had the same issue.
Occurs sometimes when I'm on 10%, I power it back on and it says 1%.
The problem is if you charge using QuickCharger all the time, especially overnight, it can degrade your battery but in a way that it doesn't fully charge.
Try using a normal USBC cable you got and PC to charge it for a few days...don't leave it charging more than 3 hours.
See if it'll get better after a week.
I Always use the supplied charger from Google..sometimes a car adapter with a usb c- usb c- cable...how is it possible that the stock Wall adapter mess up the battery??
