Use huawei extractor tool to extract boot.img from your file update.app of vns-l31c432b161, then flash it using fastboot mode.
Connect phone on pc while pressing and holding vol- (only vol-) to enter in fastboot mode. Open prompt comand on windows and run thsi comand:
fastboot flash boot <path of your boot.img>
You need fastboot drivers installed.

Ok, I've bricked my ZF 5 and have gone through many tuts to unbrick it but unfortunately I can't get into recovery mode. I can enter the droidboot mode by pressing Vol down + power button but when I click on Recovery there, it gets stuck at the boot screen mode(the one we see before entering into droidboot mode) and stays there forever. The adb shell does detect this and I did try to flash a recovery img through it but still no use. Can anyone get me out of this please?

Do one thing when you get into fastboot and tap on recovery an asus logo is seen.
Then kindly hold your power button and then your device will switch-on to twrp easily.
The actual problem is because of your device unable to get into twrp automatically so herein the above method you are manually getting into device.

With that and pressing vol +, vol - and power at same time you enter in flash mode and start to flash the rom

Hi Have got succeeded or not, if not follow the guide.
Is your phone being detected by PC if yes then you have chances of recovering your phone.
1. Download 15 Seconds ADB and Fastboot Drivers. Visit the official XDA forum for download and installation instructions.
2. Install Huawei HiSuite which will install drivers .
3. If HiSuite doesn't install Install drivers then install universal drivers for your device .
Now connect your device to pc and open HiSuite and click on system recovery it will show options for recovery if it is success then you are fine if not then proceed to this method.
Connect your phone to PC.
Open Command Prompt in the directory where you have extracted the ADB files by holding Shift and Right Mouse Button and finally click Open Command Prompt window here in the context menu.
Completely power off your device.
While holding Volume Down button, connect your device to PC via USB cable to boot to Fastboot Mode.
1. Type the following command in ADB :
Code:
adb devices
If your device is being detected and it shows list of devices attached and its serial number.
2.Now download the firmware of the phone before your phone got bootlooped extract the update using the file here
3.Now copy the following files ( boot.img, recovery.img and system.img ,cust.img ) from the extracted files to the ADB files directory.
4.Now Execute these commands one at a time using the command prompt.
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash cust cust.img
fastboot reboot
5.Now Perform a Factory Reset if your phone got recovered.
If not then download the stock recovery of your Device and try steps 2,3,4.
Even if it doesn't get succeeded then try this option .
If your device got bootlooped while on Lollipop or Marshmallow then you have one more way to recover .
6.Now download the latest TWRP from here and boot into TWRP recovery if you cant enter TWRP recovery for this version then try the previous TWRP versions like 2.8.7 ,
7.Use the following command to flash the TWRP recovery
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
8.Then download any of the custom ROMs or ask any of the XDA members for TWRP backup for your device and flash them through Recovery.
Then Reboot your Device.
You would most probably recover your device from any of the above methods . I too had the same problem and My device was use less for almost 6 months but after several trial and error methods my device got recovered.

Did you try flashing different variant ROM ie different builds?
Actually I too got the same problem bootlooped on LP but cant flash the LP ROM back so I flashed different Region ROM.
Give a try to TWRP Method It should give you success.
Imp:
Try the previous ROM where you got Bootloop, or the version earlier to it.If it doesn't succeed try the rom which you got initially on your mobile.
PS: If your phone is being detected by your PC you have good chances of recovering your phone.

http://www.stechguide.com/install-b329-nougat-update-on-vodafone-huawei-p9-lite/
And then use Huawei update extractor
http://www.trishtech.com/2017/02/ex...firmware-update-with-huawei-update-extractor/
Extracted recovery.img copy to root directory of Minimal ADB and fastboot , plug your phone to PC in fastboot mode, and install , use "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img . Reboot with "fastboot reboot".

:fingers-crossed:
i recently tried to downgrade my Mediapad M3 (btv-w09), but somehow screwed up...
1. rebooted in twrp and formatted system, data, cache, internal
2. i downgraded to emui 4 dload method it worked and i booted to fastmode and installed wrong twrp
3. stupidly i also relocked the bootloader
4. finnaly im stucked in a bootloop and cant enter recovery, erecovery or fastboot and not even dlload
i get 2 bootloop screens
one where you have the 3 options and one where it just saying device will boot...
maybe anyone knows how to unbrick!?
thx
yes.... you need same tools...
solved my problem
my problem was that i wanted to try the dload method, so i drained the battery but after that i could not recharge it because the tablet first boot then starts to charge and for the dload you need at least 10% .....
the solution (should work for all Huawei devices) :
---------------------------------------------------------------
1. If you have enough battery but cant boot to fastboot by pressing volume down + power button
- press volume down and plug the charging cable (which should be connected to your pc, not charger!!!)
2.If you have dont enough battery
- press volume up and plug the charging cable (which should be connected with the pc)....this will prevent a boot and let you charge your device, to try the dload method
to enter dload :
--------------------
1. from your tablet type ()()2846579()() in your calculator (landscape mode)
2. turned off tablet (bricked): volume up + volume down + power button
Some Links for those who wants to downgrade their M3 to EMUI4:
------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Rollback files can be found here:
https://consumer.huawei.com/it/support/tablets/mediapad-m3-8/
- TWRP
https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=125388
be carefull for EMUI4 only download twrp_BTV-W09_greatslon or twrp_BTV-DL09_greatslon.img (twrp_BTV-DL09_5_greatslon.img & twrp_BTV-W09_5_greatslon.img are just for EMUI5 )
- Root
Magisk : https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/official-magisk-v7-universal-systemless-t3473445
SuperSU for EMUI4 : https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=962187416754458671
PS: EMUI4 is 1000x better then EMUI5 for the M3
Great post. Wish it had appeared much earlier.
I screwed up and tried to use the downgrade-to-Marshmallow packages whilst already in Marshmallow, thus soft-bricking the M3.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mediapad-m3/help/m3-apsabnormal-bricked-t3779100
“Volume Up + Volume Down and Power Button” method no longer works. The machine no longer boots into Android.
Are the partitions and e-recovery damaged and there is no way to flash the M3 now?
Any suggestions welcome!
Thanks.
