So this is weird...
Some time ago, I must have flashed a ROM for the G530T1 on my G530T, but it worked.
It worked until the last OTA update I received, which was today.
Now my sd card apps are all greyed out.
My question is, is there a way to make my device show up as a G530T?

Hi, sorry for just jumping in here. But, my galaxy s4 i9505, android 4.2.2, baseband version i9505XXUBMGA, has all of a sudden decided to not recognise the sim card its had in it for the past 2 months. Ive rooted this device but not played with it any further as im not sure what im doing. Ive tried the sim card in another phone and it works fine, other sim card from other devices also do not work in this phone. It first started showing no sim a couple of days ago but i restarted it and it came back on and it recognised it straight away but over night it totally stopped working. Ive googled and searched these forums and found no answer. Ive installed stock firmware and put it back to the state it was in when i received it with no luck. Im worried this may be a hardware failure and not a software one. Really hoping somebody is so kind to throw sme light on my problem. Thanks in advance
I had this on my i9505.
It came up "sim removed, mobile data will not be available until sim is re inserted".
Every sim i tried didnt work.
Had to send to samsung and they found a faulty sim reader. So they replaced it.

Let me preface this with some quick info about the phone. I bought it two years ago and it was SIM locked to Vodafone, Vodafone basically told the guy selling it to me it'd take 6 weeks to unlock so to get around this I went to a third party phone shop who told me they unlocked it but it wasn't until later I realised they had actually changed the IMEI of the device to get it to work. This was okay though, the phone worked fine and didn't give any real issues until two weeks ago.
Two weeks ago my N910F on Kyubi Note 5 Port ROM began telling me "not registered on network" (couldn't make calls, texts or use 3G), I went through standard troubleshooting with my carrier and it didn't appear to be on their end (the SIM worked in a Galaxy S 3 I have spare). I decided to update to 6.0.1 stock from Sammobile using Odin to see if it solved the issue, unfortunately it didn't. I was advised by something I found online to check if the IMEI was blacklisted on Swappa- turned out it was. I brought it back to the shop who had originally changed the IMEI. The guy in the shop told me it wasn't blacklisted but the reason for no service was because the device had a sum of "none" where the serial number should be when you dial *#06#.
He "fixed" the devices by changing the IMEI again and reverting to 4.4.4. He told me not to update it and everything would be fine. Obviously I wasn't too happy with being stuck on KitKat so he told me if I need to come back within 2 weeks after breaking it again that he'll fix it for free. Now the phone on 4.4.4 was giving a serial number and everything appeared fine.
I flashed 6.0.1 onto it and again the S/N became "none", but everything still more or less worked despite this. Since then I have Rooted it, flashed TWRP and installed Xposed. Once I installed Xposed problems began to arise again, the phone is reporting the SD card as corrupted repeatedly, everytime the phone turns on, once finished booting I will get a black screen with just a navigation bar and an empty battery icon (then after 2-3 mins it's fine), 3G wouldn't work at all, wifi passwords aren't being remembered, following boot I get the error message "process system is not responding would you like to close it".
Thankfully I made a backup in TWRP before putting Xposed on the device and restored the system to that this morning, which fixed the 3G issue but all of the other problems are still there (despite not having been there before Xposed was installed).
What should I try now? Should I go back to the guy again? Should I try revert to stock 4.4.4 or 5.1.1 through Odin? I'm really tempted to just cut my losses and sell it, but I love the phone so much. Any help is massively appreciated.

Changing the IMEI is illegal in most countries and therefore the discussion thereof is prohibited on XDA.

i received a system update 3 weeks ago but i was ignoring it for sometime but just last week when i decided to update and install it when it was done, as my phone restarted it was nolonger reading or failed to recorgnise my sim card. i restrted it many times no change, i removed the sim card and changed it but nothing, i did even a factory reset yesterday but all didn't work although all other functions are working properly.
What model ??
What is this small update ??
What are you have in "information about phone"? Number IMEI is correct? Maybe partiion efs is damage.
You can try flash 4 file rom.
Hey guys! yesterday I just downgraded my device(i9500) from stock lollipop to cm11 and what I realized was that the network signals were gone. Although phone is detecting sim card as I'm able to see all the saved contacts even I am not signed-in with gmail account. I tried restoring the EFS I made when I was on a custom touchwiz lollipop ROM but I think there's something wrong with that backup as that didn't work for me. I know simply flashing the firmware using ODIN would solve my problem but I haven't got internet connection these days neither time as my exams are going on. I've only got 20MB of data to use everyday. So, I can't download firmware as its size ranges in GB's.
I've installed back stock ROM but problem didn't solve. The problem isn't with IMEI as I'm able too see it. Instead of the network name on the status bar when in lock screen , I'm seeing EMERGENCY CALLS ONLY message
Please help me. Better send me the backup of EFS! Thanks in advance
Could be that your SIM tray broke and it simply coincided with the ROM flash.
Hi all. I have a bit of a problem with my phone after updating to Oreo.
My brother bought me an unlocked SM-G950U1, which I am using now in the UK. I had no problem with it so far, I could do everything but using Samsung Pay, but it didn't bother me. Last weekend, I finally updated to oreo. Did the whole process, and when my phone restarted, it asked me to restart again because of the sim card. Once it got back, and when I went to update the samsung apps on the galaxy apps store, I got a message saying that it wasn't available in my country. Investigating on line, I found out that my CSC had changed to GCF, when it should be XAA, and this was likely the reason behind my problems. I followed a guide I found here to change it back, and I got it back to what it should be. I did all this process without a sim card, and I checked the galaxy apps app and it worked! But the moment I put in my sim card, same message asking me to restart my phone, it did some sim updating, and when I checked again galaxy apps, the same issue came back.
I think my issue is that it gets region locked by the sim card. Is there a way I can bypass all that process, and prevent the sim card from "updating" my phone?
Cheers
I think Im running into the same situation as you are. Did you ever find a solution?
