Hey everyone.. I have a question regarding flashing eRobot ROM on n910H..
I read previous posts on the rom thread and came to know that I will have to flash modem after flashing this rom.
My question is - Will I be needing any region specific modem or the latest file from this thread ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/note...files-t3468647 ) will do the trick for me..??
Also read some people mention that they are restoring the modem from their old rom. Can someone guide me through, how do I backup and restore modem so as to make this rom work.??
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.

Hello everyone i recently installed an custom rom on my note 3 SM-n900,the rom is called vm 14 is like a porting to Galaxy S5 setting with the new touchwiz, but the problem is that i got bored using this rom and when i tried to get back to stock rom from samsung it changes my imei to null/null.
So i tried to revert to custom rom once again and it works.Imei is stable not errors at all.
Any help how to revert to stock rom and to fix my imei ?
Thanks in advance.
It's known issue after VN ROM V14/14.1
Read this, perticularly post #2
In short - If you have flashed VN14/14.1 ever
1.Everytime you flash any other ROM you have to flash NE1 modem otherwise you won't have IMEI
OR
2.If you have any EFS backup made prior to flashing VN 14/14.1, just restore it and you are again free to flash any other ROM without loosing IMEI
Hi guys,
I see several Roms in the Rom Section that require to flash a new Bootloader and Modem.
I can't find any explanation why this is needed or what it changes.
Afterr flashing those. Is it than necesarry to reflash stock if you want to try another Rom.
Would be glad if someone could please elaborate on this topic a little bit.
Thanks

But before flashing anything make sure your device version is supported by the rom. I am in canada and have a w8 version device, not all roms support this device.
You need a new bootloader and modem, if you are upgrading to marshmallow or adding a custom rom. As the older roms do not support 6.0.1 and custom roms have a base from a different device (usual F series of the international devices). You would then reflash the bootloader and modem for your particular version if recommend by the rom developer to take advantage of certain features like radio (modem), volte if supported. It also depending on where you are reads your sim card and imei correctly.
no you do not need to back to stock to flash another rom just follow the rom developers installation instructions. If you have any questions, it is usually best to post in the rom thread as developer or someone who is very familiar with that particular rom can get the help you need.

Hey guys ..
I need a real help here.. since I'd neither rooted a phone nor installed a custom ROM before.. Its also my first thread here in xda
and I'm now about to do so with a used "Note 3 N9005" which I've bought recently.. now I want to install the "Phronseis latest Note 5 Marshmallow ROM port"
knowing that this device condition now is "Official and not rooted" with the latest official Lollipop 5.0 from Samsung via OTA update.. and the Knox is tripped showing "0x1 (4)" in the bootloader..
My problem now is that when I've read the step by step guide of the installation process I found myself lost because of some terms that I have no idea about which made me afraid of messing the things up or bricking the phone :crying:.. for example they talked about the "kernel" and I don't know if I could just ignore this part and go through the steps resulting in installing that ROM with the stock kernel??
and all that brings other questions to my mind :
1-what exactly should I do to get this phone from this official state to the desired one?
2-what about the battery life and screen on time? will it be affected by that ROM or the kernel that going to be used with it??
3-will I be able to go back to official state anytime later by flashing the official Kitkat ROM with Odin for example?
4-will this thing change my IMEI or CSC and if it does will it be irreversible?
Any help is appreciated but please there is no room to give "opinions".. because in my condition I need "facts" :good:..
Thank you in advance
A rom has instructions start by reading them .
You can revert to stock by flashing via Odin.
Facts there are a number of faqs and stickies.
Opinion unless you understand the basics flash nothing.

Rule 1 backup EFS
Rule 2 read the instructions .
Rule 3 Understand the instructions .
Regarding the rom you want to flash all the details re kernel etc are in the OP page 1.
Sent from my SM-N920C using XDA-Developers mobile app
Root
Install custom recovery
Use custom recovery to backup your current rom.
Install custom rom as per instructions .
Hi guys
I recently moved to the note 4 910F from another device.
As I have always favored custom roms ( regardless if I was using a samsung or LG or another brand device ).
The problem I am facing now is that the xda Note4 forum seems to be incredibly messed up. There are literally tens of threads with useless information and whole new threads just for one download link or something.
If someone new like me comes to the Note 4 forum he will not know where to start. The previoux device I used had a beautifully organized XDA section.
Anyway. What I did until now was to flash :
1. flashed cf-root over the stock firmware and verified that it worked
2. installed busybox
3. tried to install TWRP as I have always used it . But , Their page said to make sure I have the correct bootloader installed.
So, I got back to the rom page that I wanted to use and the dev had links there for the correct bootloader and modem. Downloaded and flashed them with odin. Now my device was restarting every 1 minute or so and I no longer had any IMEI and baseband version was unknown
I fixed it by flasks the stock firmware with odin
Can you guys help me out with some correct information on how to be able to flash a custom rom ? I know how to root it but what bootloader do I need in order to install the custom recovery and flash a new rom ?
Thank you in advance.
I want to flash latest stock ROM of Zenfone, pls help me out.
Currently I'm on this ROM with TWRP recovery.

There are plenty of tutorial threads in this forum section that explain very clearly on how to restore the stock rom. Do a quick research first.

I have gone through those tutorials, but I have a bit different problem.
Purchased this phone last year, unlocked BL, & made backup via twrp.
Since then never updated my phone & used various other roms.
Now I want to flash latest stock firmware but facing problem like version mismatch as my previous backup was of stoneage & twrp cannot flash stock firmware.
Asus flash tool is also not helping.

Do not restore your old backup, it won't work. Just forget it. Also, no need to use AFT.
Try this method instead: https://forum.xda-developers.com/as...ow-to/guide-revert-to-stock-rom-lock-t3798420
I use that method for 3 times already and always ended up with success. Just make sure you follow the instructions very carefully. Good luck!
