I just got my s7 edge G935F from UAE and it says United Arab Emirates under "about device"
Now i would like to get rid of that. Can i do so by simply flashing another rom (i would like the uk-BTU) using odin ? or do i need to change the csc code as well
i also want to get OTA updates in the future for the firmware i am flashing (uk in this case).... now i am getting ota from UAE.
Do i need to backup the efs partition?
I have flashed roms before on other devices, i am experienced. It is just that i am new to the s7 edge world, i just got it

If you want everything working properly, you need to do a clean ODIN flash. Download BTU firmware and flash all 4 files.
BL
AP
CP
CSC (Not Home_CSC)
This will wipe your internal storage so make a back up.
can i change my uk ee rom btu? Then i want to put nougat on the device :0)
or you can just flash nougat beta with odin and your csc will be btu
My case is exactly like yours, so let me know about your progress
Rember that the CSC file can also the flashed standalone, to change the CSS, done it several times.
To be honest im unsure of the OTA when you do it this way.
I have never been an OTA guy, hehe.

it is running perfectly on the UAE firmware

I would like to know if it's possible to modify the CSC in the img file before loading with Odin, for the purpose to being able to use a ROM of a different region, while maintaining the same CSC. (and without WIPE)
So I want to change the German CSC in the German 4.1.2 GT-8000 ROM to Canadian CSC before loading with Odin, that way the CSC and PDA match for future OTA purposes.
The method is as described here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1913034
Is this possible?
I opened cache.ext4 in DiskInternals, and extracted the sec_csc.zip and found the CSC folders.
However, none of them was Canadian.
Would it be possible to copy my existing CSC folder from my 4.0.4 Note 10.1 and replace and repackage the German 4.1.2 ROM with the Canadian CSC?
From what I know it is not possible
But you can do the other way around change the CSC code of you device to the german code by download the app from play store but when you do that it will do a complete data wipe
You can change CSC folders inside a custom rom and then flash .
Or via Root Explorer or Android Commander change the CSC files on the phone itself .
Or you could flash a CSC on its own via Odin if you can find one or make one .
jje
Other than not being able to use ota updates whats wrong with having a miss matched csc? I flashed the UK 4.1.1 on my Canadian 8010 leaving the CSC alone and I have no problems. After that I rooted with Chainfire's Exynos Abuse app so I don't much care about OTA I will just use Odin. If the Canadian 4.1 EVER comes out maybe I will flash it but I don't see much point.
Don't you need the same csc for your region when you are sending the tablet for warranty purposes?
Sent from my GT-N8010 using xda app-developers app
There are reports that say it is impossible to revert back to the same CSC even after flashing a ROM that native to your region after flashing the German Rom.

After doing this I have now flashed the UK JB release hoping to match the CSC again but the CSC in KIES is now BGL
It looks like you cant go back to your own region after flashing the German JB on a UK device..

Warranty requires full firmware and CSC to match the phone plus system status not modified and custom rom counter at zero .
Personally CSC is deleted as soon as i have a copy of the original firmware .
Also Kies and OTA stuff and bloatware .

kind of hesitant to flash the german rom since I cant find the rom for my canadian tablet

Are you saying, with the original firmware, you can recover the CSC and return the modified status to normal and the counter to 0?
Even after flashing ROMS from different regions such as the German ROM?

That isn't correct I have installed N-8010 4.1.1 German ROM then N-8000 4.1.2 German ROM, run CSC Select, changed back to N-8010 4.1.1 German ROM, now flashed N-8010 4.1.1 UK and I am back to the correct UK CSC and 'Official'. I have since rooted and set binary counter back to zero. No issues

We have another person whose CSC stayed the same.
This is good news. Tho we don't know why it changed permanently for others.

my n8010 uk, i update first german 8010 rom 4.1.1 single method, not double method with ics first. everything run fine and kies not let me update as said modified but csc still says btu

I used the German two step method and then overwrote that with the single German JB Rom.
I did get my CSC back to BTU by going back to ICS, factory reset and then KIES updated to JB OTA.
My flash counter still remains at 0 and has never incremented so still never needed to root it.
Ok When you update to JB 4.1.2 it will always say that your device is uptodate on the first boot, to check whether OTA is working or not go to update in settings and manually search for an update if it says no update found it means it is detecting you device if it goes into a loop of searching means it not.
No matter how many times you install a rom or which region rom you install or which version rom you install if it is a stock rom your flash counter will never increase.
It will only increase if you install a custom rom or custom recovery
Some people with the 8013 have seen their flash count increase after installing the official German JB ROM
jeggen said:
So I installed JB the first way and had mentioned here having problems with AllShare Cast Dongle. So I checked my flash count and it showed Custom and a flash count of 2. Per these instructions I installed the complete JB PDA and instead of getting a flash count to 0 now I have a flash count of 4. Here is exactly what my tablet says when I'm in download mode.
Code:
PRODUCT NAME: GT-N8013
CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOAD: Yes (4 Counts)
CURRENT BINARY: Custom
SYSTEM STATUS: Custom

yes it could be because the JB rom is for a different model and hence the system treats it as custom rom, just download triangleaway and reset the counter
Hi well i did buy thes4 from a swedish reseller and i recieved the french XEF firmware i just wonder is it safe to flash the device with the uk evr version
of firmware couldn't really see why it should be any hassle and i want to do this thru odin then too i know there is firmwares available for kies too
But isnt it better to do such things thru odin in download mode ?
I have I9505XXUAMDN
and i want the I9505XXUBMG7_I9505EVRBMF5_EVR
Bought the phone from a swedish reseller and it wasn't that easy or fun to locate the settings for language in french lol when i inserted my sim
I have the same problem. I bought SGS4 from German reseller, csc is DBT, and I want to change German firmware to Polish with csc XEO. How can I accomplish that ? Is it the same procedure as in sgs3 ? I browse in Odin for firmware file in PDA field (phone in download mode off course) and just start the process ? I've heard that in sgs4 it is a bit more complicated, that I have to root phone first ? Is it true ?

You can flash any compatible firmware for your device with Odin 3.04, roms can be found here www.sammobile.com/firmware. They don`t have to be region specific.
You don`t need root to flash firmwares with Odin!
so you are saying that if I now have XXUBMGA (i think it is unbranded, but I have one doubt about it, after makin update some german apps was automatically installed in my phone - i can uninstall them) I can flash it to polish rom with odin just by putting rom into pda and check 'auto reboot' and 'f. reset time' and I wont kill my phone and csc will change to XEO and in future I will be able to udpate phone via kies or OTA ?

Yes, you can flash the XEO rom but you will not receive OTA`s for the XEO rom as the product ID will still be DBT. You will have to keep flashing future updated roms with Odin3.04.
Exactly, so my question is how to change to product code to xeo ?

Why would you? Changing the product code will surely kill your warranty as it is linked to your Imei number. OTA`s suck anyway, its better to flash the updated rom with Odin and do a data factory reset afterwards.
But i will lose everything after making factory reset, right ? Let's just suppose i dont care about warranty - in that case, how can I change CSC ? And maybe next question, I ment about it earlier - what about those apps which are installing after any update: -HRS Hotels, -Kauf.da and couple of others, how to make them not to install after updating my phone (I can uninstall them but they are annoying)
anyone ?
helloooo
Hi All
Just had an upgrade to the Note 3. It was originally locked to 3 mobile but I have unlocked to use on O2. I'd like to get rid of the 3 mobile splash screen etc.
I've read through a few of the posts on here and I'm unsure as to how to go about doing the flash. I'm confused over the Knox thing. I am only wanting to flash the firmware not root.
Please can someone point me in the right direction......?
from what i have heard and what ppl have tried you will need to flash the SAME regions firmware as the one that came with your phone by default.. BTU has the region code "XX", so you will have to check to see your region code.. go to about phone and check it will something like this, "ZHUDMJ1 or XXUBMJ1".. the first 2 letter are the region code "ZH" and "XX" are just examples, your region code maybe different than those 2.. you can flash a different countries firmware if it has the same region code as yours

thank u for lighting me up about what firmware we need to flash to our note 3...
just want to ask if it's possible to flash this new firmware e.g XXUBMJ6
over to my rooted note 3 XXUBMJ1 and how?..help much appreciated
Anyone?
When I flashed one of the original Knox safe rooted firmwares, it inadvertently changed my CSC.
I have managed to get it back to what it should be, but the key is to use the same version as the one currently on the phone.
At the time it was MJ1 that was installed on my phone, and it was only variants of that version I used to get back to normal. The problem is when someone tries to downgrade. It wasn't really an exact science to getting it back to BTU either. More of a trial and error thing. I flashed, BTU firmware, wiped, opened recovery to check the CSC status, it still showed the wrong one, flashed again, loaded the phone up into the setup (as the phone gets wiped when changing CSC) was still bringing a foreign setup process, wiped and flashed again checked recovery and eventually it ended up where it should be.
So I think you should be able to debrand and the CSC with it to get official updates. But since they released the Note 3, flashing has become greater risk.

hi, my note on three uk, and i wanted 3 splash screen gone so just flashed via odin BTU latest firmware n9005xxudmj6, and knox all good, no worries.
Hey all
I am unfortunate to have the UK N910F phone (PDAN910FXXU1ANK6 and CSCN910FH3G1ANK1) as this has not received the lollipop update. I have not rooted the phone and don't really want to root as some apps will not work with root I. E. Banking apps.
My question is there a international Rom that I could flash with Odin as I tried a lollipop rom with the wrong PDA and CSC (PDA N910FXXU1BOC3 CSC N910FVFG1BOC2) and that just bricked the phone, luckily samfirmawre had my original 4.4.4 Rom so my phone is OK
Many Thanks
Alexndr's BOC3 ROM will allow you to keep your current CSC:

Answering your question. There is German soft for n910f on sammobile. I flashed it via odin and it works just fine.
Be careful
About your question, be careful with that, if you have your phone from a carrier (including if you unlocked it), be careful because, for example, here in Spain if you have your phone with Vodafone and you change the ROM to a non-VF, you may notice that your payment by NFC won't work. BTW I works with some banks in europe and I had no problem with whatever o their apps changing the ROM to a official from another country (nor to a custom rom, but that's your choice), now I have your same model, bought unlocked to samsung with the indian ROM from sammobile
I am on sammobile trying to figure out which rom I need to download for the 910c that is english (US). Which one should I use?
Well most roms are in english and have no carrier logo or anything in the firmware download section for 910c, Click where it says select country Choose any firmware From Poland, Pakistan or United arab emirates these will have no carrier bloat ware and are in english. (beware don't update to COJ5 BUILD it has a locked bootloader if you update to 5.1.1 COJ5 there is no going back to 5.0.2 or 4.4.4) use firmwares below COJ5 build if you dont want to be stuck on the latest firmware.

Thanks, and actually I already updated to it without realizing it was locked, which is why I am looking at the stock firmware. Sweetrom was constantly freezing and then going into endless boot. Not sure if I need to replace the kernal to fix that, but I figure I would at least try from scratch.
Today was a learning experience. Have been flashing for years. The one time I decide to update without researching it better I was bit. I know better now. Should have stayed on v14.
