I also have the DS from Taiwan. At home it picks up both 2.4 & 5GHz channels from my router. I'm guessing you have something setup wrong or possibly a hardware fault.
PS: Range seems much better on 2.4GHz

that's exactly how it is supposed to be
This doesnt have anything to do with your device - its not faulty or unsupported. You need to log on to your router and change the wifi channel for your 5GHz network. This happened to me a few years ago with some other phone.
If you have tried multiple 5GHz networks at different places and your phone doesnt pick up their signal AT ALL, then its definitely a faulty phone.

I had 2.2 Froyo and the wifi calling quality was kind of weak, would be staticy and chop in and out, can't really make sense of what the other person says, he says the same with me
I decided to get CM7 7.0.1 and it did the same thing.
I then tried another router and it still had the same problem.
I now updated to 2.3.4 rooted and it still has the same problem.
Sometimes I even lose the call completely and it drops after a bunch of loss
Am I the only one? I couldn't find a post on the MT4G forums about this, nor do I know how many people actually use wifi calling.
I registered at T-mobile the 'Free Wifi calling' where it doesn't deduct minutes so I prefer to use wifi, just don't know how to fix this
tl;dr
2 different routers, 3 different OS's, all combinations, same issue
What are your internet speeds like?
WiFi calling works like a champ here. No issues at all unless I get to far from my router / repeaters. I have 100Mb internet though.... so speed isn't really an issue.
thanks for the reply
i'm probably 10ft from the router
i have a 25mbps/25mbps FiOS with 1-2ms jitter

There's a screenshot of a speedtest just now
Hi guys,
I'm using the Google Play Edition ROM for some weeks now and noticed something strange.
I have one of the best ISP's in my country (Belgium) which has almost everywhere 3G and on the most places even 4G. In the past I had very good 4G signal almost everywhere with my HTC One but with the Galaxy it's always stuck to 'E' and very occationally I get 'H' or 'H+'. But let's say for the most part, like 90% of the time, I only manage to receive 'E'...
The specific ROM:

}
As I'm not allowed to post in the development thread itself, I thought I could ask it here...
I already tried setting different connection types:
but none seem to work like it should. Or they work but I keep being stuck in 'E' mode...
EDIT:
I also tried using the 2 different kernels, but no change.
Another thing I noticed, when I'm on the phone with somebody I can hear them clearly but they all say my connection get's disrupted and they can't hear me (or not clearly) but the connection stays present.
Thanks!
Hi Everybody,
I have bought Meizu Metal from Aliexpress and received it few days ago. Everything is working smoothly except the 3G and 4G connection. The system version is Flyme OS 5.1.2.0Y, YounOS version 3.1.6. The GSM network is working fine. The specifications of the phone clearly shows that it supports 3G and 4G networks : 4G FDD-LTE:Bands:B3,B1 , 3G WCDMA:900/1900/2100MHz. My local operators supports 2100mhz for 3G and B3 for 4G. The phone detects 3G and 4G connection , but when I try to start browser or any app that requires internet it fails to connect.

Have you set APN values? If you haven't, find out those values with your carrier.

Thank you. That was the problem. I set the APN values manually and it worked
I have the Galaxy S4 i9500 and i have very strange Network problem:
When im on the way- the netwok works (means i can call and get calls) but i dont get the data network to work (i have low data network signal). Means i cant get even Whatsapp messages:

}
When im at home- in certain places i dont get any network signal. But i can see that the Sim Card is inserted:
Now, when i was trying to isolate that problem and i start to think what kind of problem it is exactly. If it is software (Android version or modem- ill burn ROM on it and so) or Hardware problem (in that case i will buy the network housing or the part i will need to buy to fix that) but i cant get determin what cuase that exactly.
Can you please help me to solve this?
My phone details are:
I also have the infamous Knox void enabled to 1 (Samsung dont have real warrenty or support if that matter) but i dont think this is the cuase :
By the way, my wife have the same phone with the 5.0.1 android version and she can get full Network and data network all ove our home or outside. Anywhere.
I have an unlocked LS980 (on CloudyG2 3.3 Lollipop 5.0.2, Dorimanx Kernel 3.4.111, and Baseband MPSS.DI.2.0.c2-00081-M8974AAAAANAZM-1). Am using it in Kenya. My phone loses 3G signal (on the Safaricom network) the moment I enter my house. I have to switch to 2G everytime I arrive at my place. Thing is, I also have a USB HSDPA dongle I use with my desktop computer on the same Safaricom network. The USB dongle reports a 3G signal strength of -76dBm

. My phone, on the other hand, (am holding it less than a foot away from the USB dongle) can't even register a very weak -113dBm signal. It just presents me with an "Out of Service" message
. I would really love to know what the problem might be, and if there might be anything I might to do remedy the situation. 2G just sucks.
You can change signal cable (black one). Probably there is a problem with it. This cables are too weak, be careful.
