Hello all, I'm looking for the best daily schedule android backup app that can backup and sync my phones apps, pics / videos, external SD card contents to my home server every night via wifi. Does anyone know of an app that can achieve this?
Wondershare is a good one.
I use FolderSync. I have setup nightly schedules to backup Phone folders (DCIM/Download/Docs/etc.) to a share I have on my network. It's available in the Play Store. Works great.

Anyone know of a way to automatically make back-up copies of photos from the HD2 storage card to my PC/server over wifi??
I know there is the MS myphone service that backups automatically but the 200MB is a joke and not nearly enough storage. I'm thinking some sort of scheduled copy task or something?
Anyone know if that sort of thing is possible on the HD2? Your thoughts??
can either use a program called wifi remote access or resco file explorer using network shares
great thanks. does reso explorer allow you to schedule copies etc? so for example could I tell it to copy my photo folder every night at 1am or something?
no schedule. thats where myphone is good
myphone would be great if it allowed more than 200mb!!!
anyone know of a way to schedule a backup over wifi in win mob?
yes microsoft has a product called live mesh that will autosync your photos.
it is about to be re-branded live folder share. I think the windows mobile cab is a beta, but its been a while since I tested it.
mesh.com
ta, will check it out.....
Not sure if anyone can help me out here (as its not just android related) but i´m looking for a way to use my own ftp as the storage space for syncing over the cloud. Something like dropbox but using my own ftp server. Should work on windows & android to sync music, notes, documents,...
So i need a software that:
support syncing over the cloud for android & windows with serveral different files.
Thanks
I am also looking for an app like this...
using titanium backup and media sync to backup right now in combination with drop box... Still, I prefer using a different cloud provider or a own ftp...
Is there any useful program ?
Hey,i actually found out that you can sync and backup your data using titanium media sync. Adding ftp is possible. Problem solved

hmm has pretty bad ratings and comments in the market :S but will try it out thanks
something that i was searching for a while now and i think might be useful for others too
Sweet Home WiFi
wht it does:
http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile/auto-upload-sync-android-camera-photos-and-videos-to-computer/
little info from that site:
"Users who frequently use their Android device’s camera, transferring or backing up photos and videos to a computer becomes a regular hassle that they would rather avoid. Sweet Home! for Android (2.1 and higher) is a handy application that automatically connects to a user-specified Wi-Fi network when it is in range and starts uploading pictures and videos taken using the camera to the network drive, media center, or home computer. Suppose every time you return home with new photos or videos in your Android phone, this app will start uploading them to a shared directory as soon as it is connected to your local Wi-Fi network."
P.S.:
this is not made by me... i just found this info and shared it as i thought it might be useful to others... any apps as alternatives that u guys have tried?
I have to try this out after trip uploads his latest masterpiece. I don't know how many times I have forgot to backup drunking pictures of the mates. Plus I'm on my 3rd sd card, the others just stopped working.
I will give feedback later

My phone explorer is also good....
this software had been developed for SE phones for many years now and is an excellent alternative to pc companion.
You can get it to connect to your home network via wifi and automatically sync contacts, messages, photos etc....
I have been using this for a couple of days on android now....seems very good.
EDIT: This is also very good to use a multi mount option on the SD card. It lets you browse the internal (If rooted) and external memories of the phone whilst still having the SD card mounted on the phone....
the whole point is that i dont want to manually connect my phone/sdcard everytime... want it to sync over home wifi... i dont want to use dropbox its unnecessary waste of internet bandwidth from phone to dropbox server then back from dropbox server to my desktop....

FANTASTIC! love this app. Had to use ip address and drop workgroup name. Uploading 176 photos now. I always forget to dump the phone when I do my regular digital camera. Shame it doesn't create folders by date or upload into some date parameter named folder.

Are there any apps that do the same, but to for example dropbox over the mobile internet instead of Wifi?

you can configure Titanium Media Sync; lets you backup to the cloud or your own servers via FTP, SFTP,FTPS. It also supports dropbox too.
I have been searching for a solution to get my phone to backup all contents of the phone and sd card to a specific folder on my pc. I just want to not worry about having to do everything manually all the time.
I want to come home, have my profile manager turn on the wifi, phone detects home wifi on which my pc is, starts to backup all new content ontto the specified folder immediately.
I am mostly concerned about images, videos etc. Looking for a similar solution that eye-fi as / wifi card provides.
Anyone got any ideas or recommend for any apps that do this?

Try Titanium Media Sync https://market.android.com/details?id=com.keramidas.MediaSync&feature=more_from_developer
Same author as Titanium Backup. Can sync to FTP, SFTP, FTPS servers and dropbox. I use it to automatically store data like fotos, videos on my home server.
Syncness Wifi Sync is another one that I heard about. I have not tried it, but it supports wifi profiles like you mentioned. Might be worth a look.
For a free alternative you might try FolderSync Lite or (if you are a Dropbox user) Dropsync .
Let us know what ends up working for you.

This is the one that I have been looking at http://promwadmobile.com/portfolio/android-safe-backup.html
I did a quick trial and it easily found my network PCs over wifi and will auto backup on schedule. I don't think it will do the auo detect and backup though?

I am also looking for same solution. Looks like Samsung has exact solution as per crave.cnet. co. uk /mobiles/samsung-galaxy-s-2-syncing-with-kies-2-0-kies-air-and-backup-50002764/ named as "Auto backup and sync" But cant find the app on on my S2
Beeng a new at the forum cant post url please remove all spaces from the above url
App - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fjsoft.myphoneexplorer.client
Client - http://www.fjsoft.at/en/home.php
This is like itunes on steroids, haven't seen anything else out there that can backup as much as this can.
It will backup your contacts/call log/events/notes/sms/apps/sdcard and even some root folders for whatever reason... all over wifi or usb.
Wish i found this before i wiped my sdcard by accident :crying:
Just set it up so it backs up my photos/titanium backups and twrp backup upon startup.
Now if i use tasker to start the app at a certain time and also make the program start on my pc a few minutes later they'll be able to connect and it'll be a daily hands-free backup.
If you're looking to backup things on your internal /sdcard to a computer or cloud, can I recommend FolderSync?
I tried foldersync but couldn't get it to connect to my ftp server for some reason, but it does have a nice selection of online server backups, i just prefer local backups since my upload speed is only 1mbit and lte isn't unlimited.
I can connect to samba, ftp and sftp no problem. There were some reliability issues some time ago but all seems resolved to me
