Galaxy S4 i9515 wont boot after LCD replacment - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,so i replaced LCD in my I9515, I've been doing this with youtube tutorial. Before 1-2 weeks ago my phone boot normally but i couldnt see anything due to broken LCD. In store, guy took my battery and connected it to a naked motherboard and lcd to see if it's working. After replacment when i try to boot it's stuck on Samsung Galaxy S4 logo and wont boot further. I can go into download mode, computer and odin are seeing connected phone, but i cannot boot into recovery it's just showing blue "booting recovery" and nothing happening. When I charging it, the grey battery pops out, but when i unplug it the battery is still there like it's still connected. Sometimes when i try to turn it off when it's stuck on galaxy s4 logo it's turning off then on by itself like 2 or 3 times. Any ideas how to fix it? It's hardware or software problem? In a minutes i'll try to flash stock soft from sammobile. Phone was never rooted and no custom roms were installed.
Thanks for all help.
EDIT Flashing with ODIN not solved the problem
EDIT Now phone doesnt show battery when connected just one vibrate and screen is blank, and when i try to boot it while connected it's just vibrating and still black screen. When it was connected to pc it was vibrating every 2 seconds. When I try to boot it's by itself trying to boot recovery but it's not booting and blue "recovery booting" just hang on top of screen and nothing happening.
EDIT After restarting it from download mode it's get back to the problem i had in the beggining
EDIT Just flashed 4-files soft with PIT and nothing changed

I think the screen may not have been replaced properly.

And motherboard is broken now ? I think i did everything right.

There might be a short circuit somewhere. I can't tell you exactly.

So the best option now it's tech look at it?

Yes. Unless you have some tech-savvy friends who could also look at it.

[Q] Galaxy S4 boots up and then turns off. Can't boot into recovery or bootloader

My brother just installed CM on his phone. It all worked fine and then a few days later, when restarting the phone, it showed the galaxy s4 logo screen and then a few seconds later it turns off.
Now it won't even turn on. I have to remove the battery and then replace it and then only it turns on. Only to turn off again.
I try to go into recovery or bootloader, but it turns off again. The recover or bootloader screen shows up but then the phone turns off in a few seconds.
Cannot detect on ODIN. When I plug a USB cable in, it won't turn on at all. Even when I replace the battery and try. If I could just connect it through ODIN, I could flash the stock rom and kernel.
There is also an error message on the top left of the screen saying, "Kernel Is Not Seandroid Enforcing, Set Warranty Bit". Is this an issue?
Really need some help. No clue what is going on with this phone...

I guess the error message you was in download mode. Did you tried replacing your battery and then going recovery or download mode?
This is not a software problem.
You have a faulty battery or some other hardware failure.
I will try another battery. My mate has an S4 that works. I will use his battery and see if it is the battery.
I was hoping it wouldn't be the hardware. It is out of warranty now.
Thanks guys.

I can also be a broken power button. Those parts are like € 2 and not that hard to replace.

Phone keeps restarting at recovery screen

Hi guys,
I have an issue with my phone:
Yesterday, tried to restore factory settings, since the phone was quite slow.
A second or so after I confirmed the reset, the phone turned off and wouldn't start.
I took out the battery and it was swollen.
I bought a new battery today, inserted and stated the phone.
What happens now, is that the phone boots, Samsung logo appears, then the TWRP logo appears, from this point, the phone stuck at this logo screen,
and flashes every few seconds (I can't post a video here, so I can share the link in private, if anyone can take a look).
I tried to leave the phone for about 20mins without battery at all, removed SD cards, removed SIM cards, no use.
Trying to boot to recovery or download mode gives the same result.
Tried today with an original battery of a friend's Galaxy S4 , same result.
Does anyone have an idea what I can do?
Thanks in advance for you help

Sound to me your power button is stuck/faulty. Does it reboot also when in download mode? If so, then it's your power button. Wiggle it loose or replace it.

It never gets to download (or recovery) mode...
It keeps flashing at the logo of the TWRP
Trying to boot to download or recovery modes, gives the same results
I don't think it's the power button. Otherwise it would turn off if it is stuck or not turn on at all if it's faulty.
Still, I wouldn't exclude it.
The screen flashing might related to a GPU problem. I don't think it is a problem you can fix yourself.

Weird boot loop - Black Screen of Death

In my T-Mobile Galaxy S4, I am getting weird loot loop. When I power on the device, It shows Samsung logo, and then go black. When I connect to charger, It shows "charging" for one second and go black. When I try boot into recovery menu, it shows it for a split second and go black. The Only place where I can see the display is "downloading" mode. I managed to put in downloading mode and flash stock ROM twice using Odin, and it was completed successfully, but then when I try boot device, it shows Samsung logo and go black, the whole cycle repeats.
I couldn't understand what is the problem at all. The Display looks fine in "Odin" downloading mode, and since I reflashed firmware, I am going nuts trying to understand.
Please help.
Hi,
Re-flash stock firmware should fix this (I hope it).
Sent from my GT-I9500
Try flashing stock again but don't check anything except f.reset time. After flashing and you see the word "reset" in the status window, remove USB cable, remove battery, replace battery, use button combination to boot to recovery, and perform a factory wipe.
Btw, the T-Mobile s4 forum is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-tmobile

GT-I9505 unable to boot; freezes constantly in Download Mode; can't flash anything

Hello,
my Galaxy S4 got soft bricked recently and I am looking for a solution for 5 days now and now I decided to ask you guys for help since I can't find anyone with the same problem.
I had Albe95 LolliROM 9.0 (15/05/16) [HPA1] flashed on my phone for about 3 weeks and everything was perfect.
I was using my phone when it suddenly restarted itself and it got stuck in a bootloop (SAMSUNG animation). After many attempts I could boot into recovery (TWRP) but it would freeze there and I had to remove the battery...
I could also boot into Download Mode so I decided to flash a stock rom (I9505XXUHOJ2_I9505OXAHOJ2_I9505XXUHOJ2_HOME.tar) which I downloaded from Sammobile. Odin would always stuck at system.img.ext4 but again after many attempts it workted and I had success. When it was booting my phone froze at "optimizing apps". So I had to turn it off and restart again, but this time the phone was always freezing at the first samsung logo and wouldn't go further.
I can still go into Download mode but can't flash anything because eather Odin fails (complete(write) operation failed) or my phone freezes. Sometimes when I boot my phone into Download Mode the screen would do strange things like flickering and weird colors would show in DL Mode.
So my problem:
- booting into Download mode after works though it freezes sometimes
- can't flash roms because phone is freezing all the time
The model # in download mode is 9505? Was the phone ever dropped? You're using the original Samsung USB cable to flash?

Thanks for the reply.
-yes modelnr is 9505.
-i have not dropped my phone recently. I mean its over 3 years old so of course I've dropped it but never really bad and it has no scratches or anything.
-I've tried different cables and samsung cable was one of them.
I also tried all ports of my laptop even tried another pc
Maybe flash the stock rom with a pit file?

I didn't try this pit file thing because I don't understand the meaning of it exactly..
But after many many Odin flash attempts I got a success with a stock rom 5.0.1.
I think I figured out what the problem is but I can't really tell why it's happening (Hardware broken maybe, but which one?)
So after the flashing the stock rom successfully the phone restarted and started the first boot but it froze during the samsung animation again...
I thought maybe if I try a lot of times eventually it will work, so I tried and tried and it always got stuck at samsung animation. (before every boot I had to remove the battery and wait ca 10 sec because otherwise the phone would not start booting at all)
I did not come further than the samsung animation so I removed the battery and placed the phone (I almost gave up).
But after one hour I tried again and this time it passed the samsung animation and got to the Optimization part of the apps. aaaaand it froze there again.
I thought maybe if I wait again for 1 hour I can pass the optimization part. So I did and it really worked. I got to the startscreen.
So the current problem is:
- The phone boots and makes it to the homescreen and freezes after ca 10 seconds. And also I have to wait for about half an hour or one hour to get that far. If I try again right after the freezing I can't get passed the Samsung logo.
What could cause this freezing? Maybe the cpu has to "cool down" in the one hour of waiting and freezes because it gets to hot? I really don't know what it could be.
Something on the motherboard, likely either CPU, EMMC chip, or GPU, is failing. Why or how I don't know, but I'd have a tech look at it.

Samsung Galaxy J5 starts to go green after Smart Switch PC update.

I installed the 6.0 Marshallow Update on my Samsung Galaxy J5 Smartphone from Smart Switch on my PC. At first everything was OK. I plugged it, and it started downloading. Nothing unusual. When it ended, it said that the phone is restarting, so I should unplug it and plug it again, to see if it worked. The first unusual thing was that the phone didn't restart. It was just turned off. And I passed that because I thought I misread. So I unplug the phone from the PC and try to power it on. This is when the REAL weird stuff comes. At first, the "Samsung Galaxy J5 Powered by Android" logo shows up. Nothing special. Then a yellow-blue line shows up below the logo. I don't give it enough attention. After that, the screen starts to go green. Slowly turning green. . .The logo didn't disappear. My first reaction was to remove the battery, wait 10 seconds and put it back. I now try to charge it, to see if it happens again. AGAIN THE SAME! The yellow-blue line shows up, the screen starts to slowly turn green. I then wait to see what happens. The screen goes green. Completly. The screen needed a few more seconds to turn COMPLETLY GREEN. But I was soooo scared I took the battery and the charger off. I put it back up but this time, I wanted to go to recovery mode, so I can simply click "Reboot Phone". I couldn't. There was nothing I can do. I now have the phone without the battery and I want to know what is happening and how to fix it. I am really scared so I need help ASAP!

Hello!
I think you flashed other firmware than your phone model. Thats how it happened on my J500FN when i tried 6.0.1 firmware from J500F since J500FN didnt have official update.
Download a firmware for your phone model, 5.1.1 or 6.0.1 and flash through ODIN, then the problem should be gone.
This happened on my phone when I put 6.1 on via odin but then I simply tried a different recovery and the recovery was the problem
John
Anyone know how to fix this problem? I cant use odin because it wont let me go to recovery or download mode
This is happening to my phone with the exact same situation, but now I can't seem to connect to the pc with the cable - what should I do?

It happen because you use latest odin. flash again using odin 3.07 and see how it goes. It fixed mine. Had to double flash. First flash was giving me green screen. It won even pass the bootloader. Then enter download mode and reflash it using odin 3.07, it works like a charm now.

It's happen when you flash ur custom rom (only for bootloader lollipop) using bootloader marsmallow. The solution is ur phone must be support the requirements of ur custom rom.
