So i want to root and flash a custom ROM on a stock GT-i9300i (S3 Neo) on Indian base-band, running 4.4.4
I want to go from this stock to AOSP based (or CM/RR) ROMs, for flashing Xposed framework and the likes.
I have done research looking for ROMs in this phones section.
I do not mind using android version 4.4.4/5.1/6.0 ROMs, I will flash whatever android version fulfills my requirements, which are:
Required is: Front+Rear camera should work, and Dual sim should be supported (still, for information, SIM2 will be rarely used, so audio in call issues on SIM2 can be ignored)
And so my question is: What ROM+kernel should i flash, as daily driver?
In advance, thank you for your help!:fingers-crossed::angel:
use cm12.1 offical

Specificaly for I9082/L, I suggest moderators update the post on Stock custom ROMS with some important attributes aside of name of the ROM, helping people to choose quickly your rom model.
For example, I need I9082L compatible ROMs, with two-sim capabilities. So my roms must be based on stock.
So maybe we can create a table listing with this fields
ROM NAME / Version
Developer
Release Date
Based on (Stock 4.1.2/ Stock 4.2.2/CM10/AOSP/AOKP, etc)
Two-SIM (yes/no)
i9082L Compatible?
Odexed/Deodexed?
Other features,etc...
And so on.
Not all persons will be able to understand this (newbies will always make questions), but as long we keep reading posts, this will become a self-service page, just go to post and choose your desired rom model.
Thanks for this space

I dont think that any custom ROM will have Dual-Sim capabilities, except for Stock ROM Deodexed. Custom ROM are based on Google's Open Source and Open Kang (AOSP/AOKP) projects, and the Dual SIM system is Samsung's proprietary framework.
If you need your Dual SIM, keep the stock firmware, if you want to mod the firmware, the you might want to Deodex, just remember, Deodexed firmware are slightly larger than odexed.

Hi! I bought S4 i9505 TouchWiz few days..
And I want upgrade the performance, with overclock.
I need to know if the follow kernel and rom together is compatible:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2642194
and
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2544474
If it is compatible, commend me a recovery.
Sry for my english, i'm brazilian.
Thx
Hi, first of all, you should read some info regarding recoveries, flashing, overclocking, etc., if you haven't already. There are many guides on the forum, (many aren't device specific).
Regarding the kernel-rom compabitility, the main things you should be aware of in terms of compatibility is the version (JB 4.3, KK 4.4, etc.) and the base of the rom (TouchWiz stock, Google Edition, AOSP, MIUI, etc.). In this case, the kernel-rom options you ask for seem to be compatible with each other. You should probably use CWM recovery, or any other recovery you want, as long as you read carefully the features of each and decide what do you really want/need.
I follow you tips and works perfectly!
Thanks!
Hello.
It's the fist time I'm gonna flash a modded Rom cause after a year the phone its staring to do weird things. I'm still at 4.3 Jellybean.
My phone is rooted with stock TouchWiz.
The less wissles and options the better. I don't use the S-pen and would like to have a simple and battery friendly Rom with a good camera app.
Also I'm worry for the sdcard problems i read everywhere and stability.
I guess a Rom with 4.4.4 is better than 4.4.2 but in this so not sure.
What Rom do you recommend?
Thank you!
first you need to choice if you want TW or CM rom...
if TW you need to upgrade bootloader and flash stock KK rom and root and flash custom...
if CM11 no need to upgrade KK and you can flash what you want
for CM12 you need KK bootloader too
Thank you for quick answer.
I read that Cyanogenmod Roms are not optimized and made for Note 3.
Is there a Rom made specifically for N9005 with the features I posted?
1. Go to the Note 3 Android development subforum.
2. Read about the different ROMs.
3. Decide which one you want to try.
4. Flash it.
5. Repeat as necessary.
There are no short cuts. Do the research yourself, only you know if you'll be happy with your choice.
Ok thank you.
Will all the Kitkat based Roms have issues with the Sdcard I read I forums?
I recommend to you the rom which made by Alexander.. And omega rom as a second choice.. Good luck

please, i have this rom
[ROM][N9005] Galaxy S5 Stock ROM - Final v40.0 - Clean, Fast and Stable - [OTA]
have i already in kk bootloader? or not sure? how can i check?
thanks
I'm trying to find Alexander Rom you suggested but i cant find it in the forum. (I'm new with all this about roms).
What is the name of Alexander's Rom?
Well you can use stock ROM, and uninstall all the nonsense apps with any root supported uninstall app, but you still will be forced to have those S related features, S-Scroll, S-Stay and all those nonsense features (which I never have used, ever). Now if you AOSP way then you won't have all those things and you will have a clean ROM but you will miss the lovely S-Pen integration of TouchWiz based ROMs.
So you have to decide according to your preference. I don't believe that AOSP/CM based ROMs are 100% bug free for Note 3, but please correct me if I am wrong. I am an AOSP lover too.
And I also don't believe 4.4.4 has much advantage over 4.4.2 other than some security patches.

Hi, I am new on xda and stuff. I will explain in short-
I am 15. It's my first phone. I have rooted it. It gives very poor performance. I decided to flash a custom. Couldn't find any for my model (ROW/K50A40).
My questions are-
Should I flash a custom rom? ? because it's still in warranty period (actually its only a few months old).
Why does it performs so poor ? (compared to my friend's Asus zenfone 2 laser same price)?
I geuss it's because I haven't updated the ui (since its rooted) because the system consumes a lot of RAM and that's why it lags. So I want to flash a custom rom. And ROW version requires SP tool to flash rom? Can't I use recovery? I have CWM recovery which I used for rooting.
Help me plz ?

Flash ROW version
https://cloud.mail.ru/public/Cvj7/3U5rjvc6s/ROW/
In SP FLash Tools:
1.- Never use Format (You will loose your NVRAM and your phone)
2.- In options, before flash, mark Checksum, if you don't mark it phone will not work.

Those are stock roms? Is it the latest/ updated rom? Will it fix the performance problems? What are OTA and SOURCE folders? I don't want to loose root to get back warranty. I just want to make my phone better by flashing a custom rom. How about vibeui 3.5? It has android marshmallow. But is it compatible with ROW model? Is any custom rom compatible with ROW? ?
I got it. Never mind ?. Thanks for your help TorpedoJavi.

Hi @Aditya781
K3 Note China -> K50-t5 (ST (stable) and DEV (developer) ROMs)
K3 Note India -> K50a40 (ROW ROMs)
They are the same phone, with the same hardware. I recommend do not use customs ROMs if you don't know what are you doing.
For non Chinese users ROW (Rest of World) ROM is OK, although, as I want to experiment, I'm currently using Chinese ROM ST.
Good luck.
P.D.: NEVER USE FORMAT IN SP FLASH TOOLS, NEVER.
I am going to try CM 12.1 ST LP 5.1 when few issues are fixed. http://www.needrom.com/download/stable-cyanogenmod-12-1-multilingual/
Guys can u share the best rom for mt6572 kk4.4.2 out there? I want to give a new look to my phone. please guide me to do it. my phone is rooted. phone: Inew cxq u1. Recently I have flashed my phone via sp tools with stock rom. And this time I want to flash with custom rom. please guide me to install recovery and porting by pc/phone.
Sorry, it's a question impossible to answer. It's also a wrong kind of question in this forum. No decent Android user will answer that. My recommendation is to try different Roms and drink Ron Zacappa.
