[SOLVED] Installing CM13 on rooted SM N910V - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have TWRP recovery and I've installed the Rom without any errors showing up but when I try to boot the phone up it doesn't go past the cm logo screen. It keeps pulsating slowly then goes faster then just stays there. I've waited about an 1hr or 1hr n a half for it to load but nothing happend I've installed gapps for 6.0 stock I have Jasmine ROM 7.0 installed with xposed framework.
Q) Do i need the stock Rom for this phone to install cm13
Q) Does it take a long time to load?
Q) Did I miss a step?
I used the forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-verizon/development/cyanogenmod-t3253973/page406 and made sure I had everything I didn't change animation scales because couldn't find the setting, multi window is already on I belive n xposed was installed with Jasmine ROM and gapps.
I rebooted to recovery
Factory reset
Wipe > advanced > system, data, cache, dalvik
(I have a backup just in case)
Installed cm13
Wiped cache
Installed gapps
Wiped cache
Rebooted
Then it gets stuck at the cm13 logo that's pulsating.
My solution:
I downloaded the boot.img file provided by weard1212 https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/9399595/boot.img
You will need it for it to boot up.
Reboot recovery
Wipe >advance >system,data,cach,dalvik
Install cm13
Wipe cache
Install Gapps
Wipe cache
Then go to home menu
Install click install IMG
Look for IMG file then install
Reboot
DONE

Before flash cm rom You will need 5.1.1 stock lollipop bootloader to make in boot if you are on marshmallow 6.0..1 it wont boot.
Just flash 5.1 bootloader it will boot fine

Don't flash the 5.1 bootloader, you need to flash the 7/24 build kernel from here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/9399595/boot.img after you do the steps you have already done

Flashing the stock bootloader on the Verizon note 4 will re-lock it and they are talking about hsbdr's cm13 on the Verizon form

[Q] [CM12] GApps Crash On Startup

Hello,
I upgraded my Verizon Galaxy S4 from CM11 to CM12 last night, using the nightly build from 1/7/2015. The upgrade went smoothly, except for gapps. I have not been able to get them to successfully run on Lollipop. I have tried the following builds of gapps:
PA GAPPS
2014-11-09
2014-12-20
I use the following installation process each time:
Boot into CWM 6.0.3.2
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
mounts and storage > format /system
wipe dalvik cache
install CM.zip
install gapps.zip
When I reboot the phone, it gets into the lock screen as expected, but when I swipe it to unlock, I instantly get a stream of errors ("Setup wizard has stopped", "Google+ has stopped", etc). The exact errors depend on which gapps version I install, since they come with (slightly) different apps in the packages.
Has anyone had success with the Lollipop gapps packages and CyanogenMod?

I tried that one again - no dice. com.google.process.gapps crashes on startup, followed by a long list of other Google apps included in the package.
Same problem.

Any fix for this? I've been struggling with it for a whole day now.
I have not found a fix. I reverted back to KitKat since I needed to use my phone during the week.
Bump
I finally managed to fix the problem. All the clean flashes did nothing, and I made sure they were squeaky clean, so I decided to start from scratch. I ODIN'd back to stock, installed TWRP instead of Clockworkmod, and reinstalled the rom and gapps package. I booted into the setup wizard and all is right in the world. Thanks for all who helped me!
Do you know what version of CWM you were running? I might try updating it over the weekend and see if that works as an alternate solution.
Try this. This worked for me.

Before adding gapps after flashing cm-12 wipe dalvik and cache, flash ktoonz lollipop kernel then flash gapps for lollipop. This worked for me.

Hey I'm having the same problem, can you describe how in Odin you got back to stock? You flashed stock and lost your custom recovery? That's weird, I figured a custom recovery was like a bios

No rom is booting up properly

EDIT: the problem is solved, see my last post
Hey guys,
I'm not new to installing roms, as I did with my SGS 2 before. But I haven't done it for a long time and it's the first time I do it on my SGS 5... with no success at all.
The problem is that, out of all the roms I've tried, none of them boot up entirely without crashes. I've followed the instructions to the letter and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.
Here's what I had before starting to fiddle:
SGS 5 G900F, no specific carrier, bought in Europe
stock android/touchwiz 5.0, never rooted or anything
Here are the roms I have tried:
cynaogen 5.1.1 12.1 20150508 for klte + these gapps http://teambliss.x10host.com/BlissStalk/Gapps/ --> stays blocked on the samsung logo forever
BlissPop 5.1.1 v3.3 20150515 for klte + pa_gapps-stock-5.1-20150418-signed or pa_gapps-modular-full-5.1-20150418-signed --> google newstand and another google app are crashing in a loop during the setup, I can't tap any button
PAC 5.1.1 20150503 for klte + pa_gapps-stock-5.1-20150418-signed or pa_gapps-modular-full-5.1-20150418-signed --> the install wizard application itself is crashing in a loop
THe kernels I've tried:
KT-SGS5-LP5.1-AOSP-G900-05.02.2015
boeffla-kernel-2.0-beta8-CM12.1-g900f.recovery
My recovery:
twrp-2.8.6.0-klte (flashed with Odin, it works fine, and I could boot the stock rom without problems with it)
Any idea about the cause of the problem?
Thanks
I guess if you are not new to stuff like this, you have 100% wiped everything before flashing in TWRP recovery, and factory reset / wiped caches after flashing the ROM and Gapps?

Yes, before and between installing different roms, I wiped everything: system, cache, dalvik, internal storage
I've also flashed twrp previous version 2.8.5.0, and philz touch recovery. They all work fine, but still can't boot any rom
Strangely, I now works using this version of CM 12.1: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...ent/rom-cyanogenmod-12-1-android-5-1-t3066252
I have no idea why I had all these crashes and boot problems with the other 3 roms.
Cheers
Odd.

Yes you can
I'm using G900X running
Resurrection Remix 6.0.1_r61 for (G900F)
Pico Gapps
Boeffla Kernel
Xposed
What I did is to clean first...
Wipe Data, Cache, System, Dalvik Cache & do a Factory Reset, reboot.
Boot to Download Mode then flash Chainfire Superuser.zip using PC Odin to root.
Reboot & installed Busybox open it & install to systen/xbin done.
Turn on USB Debugging on Settings> Developer Options.
Flash Philz recovery....
Boot to recovery (Philz_recovery) then select Wipe > Wipe to install rom, after that wipe Dalvik, then flash Resurrection Remix 6.0.1_r61 v5.7.3, wipe Dalvik
Now flash Pico Gapps the wipe Dalvik...done!
Wait for it to boot it may take 5-10min

Autorec is just the first step to twrp. Go to https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/development/twrp-twrp-2-8-0-0-kernel-f2fs-tools-t2898705 and get the bumped version 3.1.0-1.
Then put it in your phones memory, boot into twrp you got from autorec and flash the new version.

1. Root + TWRP : https://www.dropbox.com/s/2shvozzbu29xjfu/LGG2-D802-OneClickRootRecoveryV1.1.zip?dl=0
2. Update TWRP to 3.1 by flashing zip file and then rebooting recovery: http://www.gregtwallace.com/lgg2-projects/twrp/?version=3.1.0-1
3. LineageOS by flashing rom zip file and gapps: https://download.lineageos.org/d802 + http://opengapps.org/ (ARM + Android 7.1)

Hi,
It seems I have the same issue :
I tried to install LineAge, using TWRP 3.2.1 (from CM12.1), but nothing is working (I tried 20180425 and 20180404 nightly versions). After reboot I can see the backlight on the lcd screen but nothing else. Then I tested the installation of a CM12 version, all is right, normal boot. No error message written in the console. i tried also a CM13 install, same as Lineage.
Do you think I have to flask back to LG "OS" ?

Are you clean flashing? Make sure to factory reset, wipe system, data and cache before flash. Never wipe internal storage. Swipe factory reset again after flash. Try flashing gapps later after confirming that Rom boots fine.

Hi,
yes I wiped Dalvik, system, data & cache through TWRP, before flash. But I don't wipe after, I rebooted without GApps...
Maybe, because I read that somewhere, I need to flash a bootstack. I don't know when I have to di it, if I have to do.
Thanks

Yes, you don't wipe after flash, but you swipe the factory reset, it does not wipe but resets the flashed Rom. Give it a clean shot again. Check MD5 of the all files you downloaded with original MD5 to confirm the file didn't get corrupt.
Boot stack flash not needed. Please read the first post thoroughly in lineage thread
"""
Requirements:
Custom recovery (TWRP or any other)
KitKat (KK) bootloader (included in the lg-devs LP bootstack)
KitKat (KK) bootstack minimum; Please read the entire FAQ for important bootstack information. Installation of bootstacks is NOT recommended.
Clean flash if coming from another ROM or CM 13 (no dirty flash, wipe system too check you bootstack(needen bump support)

Hi,
what do you mean by "you swipe the factory reset", I'm not sure what it is, either "give it a clean shot again".
Sorry I'm not very aware of all those processes ^_^, and I'm french so not very aware of some vocabulary words
Thank you

phone won't start if i flash nought rom

Okey.. So I used to flash many ROM on my Xiaomi Redmi 3s prime and they were very stable and awesome also I had flashed RR nought ROM and used to work well but it was a buggy ROM so I flashed another 6.0.1 rom stable ROM and few days later I found stable nought ROM but when I flash them then it show boot animation (loading screen) like for 1min and then get stuck and then automatically gets turn off I tried many times to start but got same results but i can flash marshmallow ROMs but not nought ROM and also like 4-5months ago when I was using 7.0 ROM and then got back to older then my WiFi and Bluetooth stopped working :crying:
Flash wifi and modem patch provided with custom roms in there thread or if every this is right i.e you flash all patches then try to wipe your data partion or factory reset your phone.Take back up your data before doing factory reset.
I had that with RR official rom latest. I just had to disable DM thingy after wiping dalvik and then boot to system. The first boot will kind of not go past beyond the RR animation and then I have to powercycle once and then everything was the way it should be. The latest RR also has Magisx which will not boot the phone if you have some other root like SuperSU for some reason.
In short after making the backup through TWRP, wipe the lot using the advanced wipe, install the RR ZIP and wipe dalvik install pico Gapps (some reason Aroma version didn't work) wipe Dalvik and disable DM and then boot system If it gets stuck in the RR animation for longer than 3-5 mins in the first boot just hold the power button to cycle it once and it should work.
