Just received my E3 power in the courier today. After going through the initial setup and rooting procedures, I noticed that Moto Display is absent.
Is there some way to port it to the stock Motorola ROM at least? Thanks.

I ordered Moto G from Flipkart to deliver it to my home while I was traveling. Yesterday I returned and was excited to unbox Moto G. But after I unboxed the device I noticed that the device is not switching on, even after several attempts too. I asked Flipkart to replace the device.
Then I thought if I am the only one who is facing the same problem? I start searching Google and found the solution. Sharing this here if someone else is facing the same problem, this thread can be helpful. So documenting this here.
Solution: Put your device on charging with wall mount charger and press the power button for about 3 minutes and it woke up again, with 0% charge, and started charging, working fine now.
Motorola is saying...
This is our recommendation as well.
Plug it into the charger
Hold the VOL DOWN key
While still holding the VOL DOWN key, press and hold the POWER key
Hold both keys down for over 120 seconds. This is more than two minutes and will seem like a long time. You might want to time yourself to make sure you hold it longer than two minutes.
After holding the keys down for more than two minutes, release them.
The Flash Boot screen will display, and the Normal Reboot option will be highlighted
Press the VOL UP key and the device will start a normal reboot.

Got to ask Flipkart now to remove my return request..
Hi,
I've been having a moto x style (xt1572) since december 2015. Only recently i've begun having major issues with the volume buttons, i suspect something is sticking on the back. when i press 'em they stick and i press the full volume (very annoying). I've tried to fix it with one of those air-keyboard cleaners but after a few hours it comes back. When i press it 20 times it goes away but a few hours later it comes back. I've always used my phone on a responsable way, never spilled any drink on it.
My phone is still in warranty (Europe- 2years)? Any suggestions, Should i send it back to Motorola?
My phone is Moto G4+ -
Indian Version
Android 7.0 (June Security Update installed)
32GB ROM / 3GB RAM
Black Variant
Bought online on amazon.in
My 1 year warranty expired on 18 July 2017.
I update to the June security update last week. Everything was going fine.
Today when my phone was charging (was around 50%), I opened WhatsApp to check my messages. As I reading my messages the whole screen got an "RED" overlay. And most of the things in the background became black but I was still able to see behind the overlay. Also there was a small "BLUE" circle in the middle above the overlay. I have taken a screenshot of it but can't post it (read further to know why). After taking the screenshot the phone was unresponsive to all inputs, nothing worked. Then it switched off. The following things I have tried till now to start it:-
1. Normal turn on (pressing the power button)
2. Forced turn on (pressing power button for more than 2 minutes while charging)
3. Boot in recovery (power button and volume down for approx 5 seconds)
I tried all the methods while charging and while not charging.
The phone is not giving any response. It dose not even turn the screen on (and I know the screen was off not just the backlight on and blank screen). The only respone is IT VIBRATES EVERY 2-3 minutes (do not know the exact interval) . It has been going on continuously. The LED (near the fingerprint scanner) is not turning on too.
I have never done or tried to root, unlock the bootloader, etc.
All my apps were installed from the Play Store except for "Terrarium Tv" (https://terrariumtv.com/).
I connected the phone to my laptop, it detected it as "Moto G4", I tried to open it but the laptop was not able to mount it. I tried after some time and now the laptop dosen't even detect it.

June update (14-8) has killed a lot of Athene. Sorry. A warning to others to stay away from this update. Stick with March Security Update ROM 14-4. If under warranty, send it in ASAP.

sorry to hear about your phone! there is a high chance that its a hardware problem.
reason_
1. It should be able to get picked up with your Windows / Mac. as QHUSB_Bulk (if your bootloader was damaged)
2. If display was the problem. Connecting to PC should have detected anyway as adb sideloader or Moto Device / Android device.
PS_ try uninstalling moto drivers and reinstalling from **device manager.

But terrariumtv.com Not working now, may be https://terrariumtvz.co is working for me
Hi,
I updated my Moto X Style to Nougat using OTA; that was followed by a security patch update OTA and that was also successfully installed (patch date 1 August 2017).
Post that update, the Back, Home and Multi-Task buttons on my phone do not work, work randomly, generate ghost touches (Multi-Task button predominantly). These ghost touches, suddenly show multiple tasks, exit out of application(s); change the active application to BG and bring forth the Task in BG to front, Split screen in 2 windows (Nouga) functionality.
Technical details of my phone -
Model/SKU – XT1572, 3 GB Ram, 32 GB ROM; this is dual sim device
Android Security Patch Level – August 1, 2017
Android version – 7.0
Baseband_Version – M8992_1255331.29.01.88.09R.CLARK_EMEA_DSDS_CUST
Kernel Version – 3.10.84-perf-g0653b98; [email protected] #1, Tue Aug 1 00:17:12 CDT 2017
System Vervion – 25.201.3
Build Number – NPHS25.200-15-3
I have tried many of the suggestions provided on MOTO Help forums including Cache partition erase and Factory data reset. No changes to Symptoms so far.
When the buttons do not respond to touch, the phone works fine; I can check my mails and respond to them without interruption by these ghost touches.
I tried to follow procedure to revert back to Marshmallow, however, the MOTO site that provided unlock code for bootloader, informd me that the bootloader can't be unlocked. Therefore the reverting option in technically dead for me.
As a workaround, I have installed an APP from play store that provides the Back, Home and Multi-task button functionality without interfering with other apps.
Can someone help and provide suggestions on what I should do next to identify root cause for this problem?
FYI -
I have raised issue with one of the Executives VP in MOTO Support department. But, as usual, their response that the device needs to be checked at service center. And, I think, they are going to go through the same steps and finally the diagnosis would to change the digitizer.
But, I think the digitizer is fine sine the on-screen keyboard works fine; it's keys appear in the same area where the section for Back, Home and Multi-Task buttons appear on screen. I can drag down the lower screen (in split screen mode) all the way down to the bottom end of screen by touching the border between top and bottom screen parts.
Thank you for your help in advance.
Warm Regards,
Ravi
PS: Apologize if this issue has already been addressed/resolved in some other thread. Could not get time to go through available threads in this forum to see 'em.
i am also facing same issue with the same BUILD number and when i have contacted MOTO customer they have informed that its a malware issue and touch issue and need to be repaired and they are charing Rs 9k. Issue start after upgrading to this version and not able to downgrade now and
One point that I noticed (and may be others too), if you rotate the screen, the nav-bar with it's Back, Home and Multitask buttons also changes side and works perfectly. However, any time you comeback to home page, the homepage is always shown in portrait mode, the nav-bar moves back to it's normal place (just above mike end of phone); and, lo and behold, the problem starts.
Do you have this symptom too?
Also, if MOTO service center is asking you 9K for issue resolution, I suggest that you get them in writing each individual activity that they will perform and what issue with the phone that activity will fix. Looking at the price, it seems that they have told you to replace the LCD Screen/Digitizer.
From what I know and observed with my phone, I do not think it's Digitizer (Touch Screen) issue. It appears to be more of software issue. Reason I say this because, when the nav-bar is in hidden mode, this problem does not happen. Also, if the screen is locked, you can still activate Camera or Mike by pressing in lower right- or left-hand corner. It's only when nav-bar layer comes up, the issue starts.
Are you able to use the onscreen keyboard? If yes, then I can say with guarantee that it's not Digitizer issue, because some keys in the keyboard (Space bar, some punctuation keys) are in the same area that nav-bar overlays when active. Check with the MOTO Service center why it is so?
Warm Regards,
Ravi
I recently got this issue and found this thread after researching. It seems to me there's no clear solution for this issue.
What happened to me was that I had no problem after upgrading to Android 7.0 but I started having problem after trying to restart my phone many times in a row because of the battery was dead. Since then it never came back to original even after changing the battery.
The camera quick start on lock-screen still works fine so I think there's some issue with software itself. I might somehow wipe off some code in the phone?!?
Hello there!
I recently got my hands on stock Moto G4 from my cousin. The thing is, he fell with it on his pocket and now when you try to power it on it show the Motorola logo screen briefly, turns off, then turns on again and shows the logo screen again and so on. The phone charges up normally, enter fastboot mode just fine (although I can't enter recovery, only little droid with exclamation mark, but maybe it's because it's locked).
I searched throughout the xda forums and google for solutions and tried everything that looked like it could work. Nothing did. I tried the following:
1 - Change the battery;
2- Install another stock rom via fastboot and adb;
About the phone state: the display is just fine. The only things that were damaged with the fall were a part of the back that was a little kneaded, a little below of the sim slot. As I disassembled the phone I noted that the metal shield in that place of the motherboard was a little bit kneaded too.
I am afraid it might be more of a hardware issue, but if you guys could give me some light or some other ideas, it would be really appreciated.
Thanks!
