I was just wondering if anyone could give me a hand. I'm trying to up the speed on the phone a little but nothing I do sticks for adjusting the kernel. Every time I up the max it just reverts. Any help would be appreciated.
We don't have a custom kernel because of locked boot loader you cant adjust the speed because you are stuck on stock kernel

I finally rooted my TF to Prime 1.5. Which custom kernel do you use? Are there advantages to CBCS over Netformer or vice versa?
i have used both and to be honest there is little difference between them for how i use it, however i switched back to clemsyns purely of my own choice as battery seemed better for me however as each TF is set up totally different this may not be the case for you.
try them both and see how you get on just remember to clear cache and dalvik before applying new kernel.
Thanks. I couldn't tell much difference, either, but this is my first Android device & first root of anything, so I wanted to check with someone w/experience.
Using Kernel Manager makes flashing a new kernel a breeze (although I did get stuck in a boot loop when I tried to go back to Roach's kernel). It can be set to auto-clear of the cache & Dalvik, too.
Frankly, you all have made rooting so easy that I can't see why everyone shouldn't do it.
No worries the only thing you will have to worry about now is OFD, obsessive flashing disorder. Rooting is a slippery slope lol, always got to try the latest rom or kernel.
I use Clemsys 1.6 at 1.4 Ghz with interactive governor.
No problem of use, no reboots. Stable.

Just loaded rooted stock 3.2 and would like to overclock. I'm having problems trying to use SetCPU though. How do I raise the clock? I don't get a menu option on the notification bar.
If you're rooted with stock 3.2, you will need to flash a kernel that allows overclocking at different frequencies and voltages. All the cpu apps do not physically do the overclock, they only control it.
Oh, that's a shame. Custom roms always seem to have a bug or two that spoil the whole experience
I guess I was just confused because I have a DROIDX that is stock rooted and can be overclocked.
EDIT: Nevermind, noob in training here; confusing ROM and kernel. Will go flash Thors kernel now.
Hey folks. Being the noob I am, I posted on here a few days ago asking how to go about rooting my phone. Well, thanks to some friendly advice (and DoomLord's easy rooting toolkit) I have been able to clear that hurdle. Now that my phone is rooted, I would really like to be able to take advantage of all that has to offer (overclocking, underclocking, better battery life, etc.). From what I've read on the interweb, I need to flash a custom kernel to do that. Before I jump into this task, I have a few questions:
1) Do I need to flash a custom rom to use a custom kernel?
2) I am on a small, regional cdma carrier. Would changing my kernel affect my baseband, causing me to lose data coverage, or even lose cell service entirely?
3) will doing these things cause me to lose all my apps?
Custom kernel are not available to flash, being that the boooader is locked; however, the stock kernel supports overclocking, undervolting, etc. so you need only download an overclocking app.

So just for the safety's sake, the stock kernel:
2.6.32.9-geadffa3
[email protected]#1
Will work with an app like setCPU for over/underclocking, undervolting, etc?
Also, could you tell me some good clocking settings for the droid/milestone x?
The stock kernel allows you to overclock using those apps. However, I think there have been some issues trying to overclock the X if you are running an ICS custom rom. I think I read that QuickClock was working, but I'm not positive.
As for OC settings, each phone will act a little differently. You just have to test them out and watch to make sure your phone continues to be stable. You can start out testing at 1080 or 1100 and take it from there.

Guys plz help me out. I have got a weird problem with my note 3. I am on stock 4.4.2 NA6 rom rooted. I flashed halazsk universal5420 kernel using twrp recovery and cleared dalvik cache...on the first boot after flashing the kernel Everything seems working including Overclocking and undervolting...but eventually my phone starts heating up badly. And once I restart my phone...It has trouble waking up. After I lock and unlock it ..A black screen stays for a second or two...and my phone hotboots and the same problem continues...and the phone heats up really bad...I tried both 13b and 14b versions...none worked...plz help me out guys...I really want to use this kernel
Thank you!

And what happens when you DO NOT overclock or undervolt? Some devices frown upon undervolting, lets use the default settings and monitor it from there....
Good luck!
Thanks
I face these problems even on stock settings...just after flashing kernel

My note has a weird problem, the CPUs are sticking on stock ROMs doesnt matter what version, 4.4 5.0 5.1 its always gets stuck at either 1100mhz or 1700 mhz after a few seconds of booting, at first its up at 2200 mhz then after a few seconds it get stuck at 1700 mhz, I have tried different Kernels, cpu adjusters everything, I tried flashing with odin to stock, repartition using PIT everything, the only time it doesnt stick if if I flash Temeseks cyanogenmod 12.1 , any ideas ?

From what I can tell its related to Samsung DVFS, there is a xposed app http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2674928 I think this should work on ours too
I found this too https://www.reddit.com/r/GalaxyS6/comments/375ikf/i_found_a_way_to_disable_dvfs_without_xposed_only/
SOLVED : Install xposed on stock 5.0 then download wannam xposed found here http://repo.xposed.info/module/ma.wanam.xposed then disable Samsung DVFS then yippee no more slow phone !
