Hi, I have an i9505 which I have rooted with the help of some of the guides on here.
Anyway, I encrypted my phone from settings -> security not really knowing what I was doing. I was just thinking that it would make my phone more secure or whatever.
Anyway, following this I now have to enter a password every time I lock my phone screen which I find very inconvenient and I understand that I can't install any custom roms in the future.
I have tried to decrypt the phone from settings -> security but the process doesn't seem to complete.
It says that the decrypting process is irreversible ect ect.. it will take one hour ect... ect.. then when I click to confirm it and begin the decryption process the phone just seems to switch off then it turns back on by itself within 30-60 seconds and that is it. The phone is still encrypted?
Can anyone help me please?
I am really gutted!!!
Thanks
I am experiencing the same problem right now, did you ever find a solution?

Encryption is irreversible without a factory restore.
read here http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/encrypt-your-samsung-galaxy-s-4.html
did you try to back to stock with odin?

I was keeping my hopes going because there is a "decrypt device" option in the security settings, but that wouldn't work and I was hoping I was ****ing it up somehow. Guess device cleansing is my only option.

Samsung device have the "decrypt device" option and it works, tried it multiple times.
Decrypting a Samsung Galaxy S4
Had the same problem several times. Make sure "USB Debugging" is off in the "Developer Options" section of the Settings screen.
Dont fret....go to settings<lock screen and then change it to swipe....Hope this works!

Last night i had the same problem but i managed to fix
If you press decode it says password and then enter a password of at least 6 digits AND AT LEAST 1 NUMBER to activate the decoding part i tottaly missed that but i realized it a few hours after.
And then it started decoding for about half an hour and it was fixed.
Hope this was usefull so you wont need a system reset.
Given that the original post was in 2013, the OP likely had to reset, if none of the other posts from 2013 in the thread helped.
4.1/2 years on - there must be someone out there that knows how to decrypt the GT-I9195 ??
I spent yesterday researching pro's & con's of encrypting my phone. Couldn't find anyone saying password had to be entered EVERY TIME I USE the phone, just people wrongly advising that I would have to enter password every time I switch the phone on. I could live with that, I thought, so I encrypted it. Big mistake. Why anyone wants a phone that needs a password on every use, I do not know.
Please help me decrypt my phone. Thanks
S7 Edge "IMS Service has stopped" pop ups even after Factory Reset, just updated 7.0
Im at wits end with this, usually Factory Reset is the last draw and should fix whatever bug i have,
My device is from Optus Australia but I flashed MM 6.0 Australia from the first day and when i got the device March 2016, today a OTA update for Nougat 7.0 came out and I downloaded it, since then Ive been getting "IMS Service has stopped" error every 3 seconds and every input touch I do the device lags or screen turn offs.
I did Reset all settings, then Factory Reset and Wipe Cache Partition, still getting the pop up at the Welcome message, Device is vanilla and no root.
Much more interesting: How can we turn off the IMS-Service? If we just uninstall it with Titanium Backup (root)...would the messages still pop up?
Ok, So I did everything and still nothing, But removing the sim card fixes the problem :/
Im having the same issue with my optus s7 edge.
i though i figured out a temporary work around by disabling the WiFi.
But the issue has cropped up again this morning.
Hi guys! I'm sure you will find a way to thank me but I found the fix... Which I also posted it over @ whirlpool forums.
Go into Mobile networks and turn on VoLTE -> that's it!
IMS message should dissapear and phone return to full speed - have tested on my friends s7 aswell who also had this same issue after the OTA update.
:highfive: bottoms up!
If this fix worked for you post back here and give me a virtual hi-5 .... :good:

Glad to hear!
Apparent optus is issuing a OTA fix on 28th for this issue. which is just not good enough.
I only stumbled on this 'fix' by accident desperately trying to fix. unless you go forum searching I can only imagine how many others are stuck right now.
Now that I ran the S7_or_S7Edge_Fixes_Debloater_V15.zip on my Rooted Sprint G7 edge, Using the QAA version. I'm getting a IMS has stopped message. I could really use some help.

clementho9, What I ended up doing was, resetting and clean wipe my Phn back to default, I didn't want to do that, BUT everything that I tried didn't work and it made my device damn near unusable. After the wipe I rerooted and reflashed my phn , ButI didn't flash that zip file ever again.

I'm having the same issue after flashing the S7_or_S7Edge_Fixes_V15.zip ... does anybody knows what could be the fix for this?
The message says "IMS service has stopped" . And it comes back as soon as I close the pop up. It's very annoying.
Thanks.
This is how I got it to stop flashing that irritating IMS service Geese
I used ES Explorer it had root access
If you don't have it get it you'll need it next
Painfully but that IMS service blast and all through the whole entire process I was taking my time until I got into the location of this IMS service APK and I deleted that sucker folder and all
From root access of your phone /system/app/IMS SERVICE
That's the location of that god-forsaken irritating application I delete the folder and all the contents inside of it I then shut the phone down and restarted the phone comes back up works just like a charm no problem..
Remind you it is very painful clicking every fifth of a second while being cautious not to double-click on the wrong item.
What I found work best for me was double click and then click and hold on that file once it became Highlighted delete poof gone !!!!!!!!!!

Check out my post #17 Below yours.
Is your answer.. ???
Less painful way to delete imsservice.apk
So I also ran into this issue after flashing S7_or_S7Edge_Fixes_Debloater_V15.zip. Instead of painfully using the phone to delete the apk, you can use adb from your PC. Simply open CMD (Windows) and run the following:
1) adb remount
2) adb shell
2) rm -f /system/app/imsservice/imsservice.apk
Then reboot your phone.
I had the same problem after installing the infamous fixer_debloater_v15.zip. Brand new phone, haven't even put a SIM card in it yet. Ended up removing the IMS Service folder and saving it in case I decide to try to put it back someday. Does anyone know what we are losing by not having IMS Services?
I have been trying to reboot a used phone I have bought. The Samsung Galaxy J3 (6). Yes, there is a 6 after the J3 inside of a little circle. Apparently this is the closest thing that xda has to it on the forums. I have tried everything I could find on the internet to get around this google verify problem from the previous user. I have used the emergency caller to basically access everything on the phone. I have attempted to change the google account through settings, I have installed new apps to access other areas, I have have tried to downgrade Google Account Manager to disable the "error" problem in the quick shortcut app. This last method didn't work due to the phone not letting me be able to downgrade. I have installed the rootjunkie's samsung unlocker apk and got to settings. I have factory reset from here twice, with and without a password. Both did not do a thing for me. I am out of ideas. can anybody help me out here?

The issue is FRP. Someone has factory reset from recovery instead of settings.
If you can get into settings as you say then set up another Google account then switch to that account.
Restart and log into that account.
Which firmware build is the device running?

I have tried to add a Google account through several methods as well. Through settings, through Gmail app, through play store. All of which keep taking me to the same verification check screen, but it allows me to back out to the settings again.

My version is 6.01 I believe. But I cannot downgrade to the 6.01 Google account manager with new security stuff.
Your device is nearly identical to J320A & J320AZ.
I am unsure if you need to enable "oem unlock" from Dev options to flash the kernel.
But if Odin let's you this method should get you going.
I've been trying for a long time to get OEM unlock with the Samsung Galaxy J5 Pro SM-J530 G variant. I've seen people unlocking the BL in the J730G, same exynos chip.
Here is what I have tried so far:
All date/time tricks
Factory reset
Flash Stock ROM
Waited 7 days
My last attempt made me give up and ask for help here... I completely flashed the most recent stock rom, wiped everything using the CSC file not the CSC-HOME, I did the start setup logging into samsung account and google account, after completing the start setup I inserted the SIM card otherwise that stupid start setup would consume 4G costing me $$$.
Waited for 168 hours with the device always on, and still no OEM UNLOCK, I mean what else can I do... there's almost nothing about this problem with this device here on XDA... I'm hoping someone with a SM-J530G and that had OEM Unlock could tell me what was the process to enable this option. Or what are my options here? Thx
And by the way, I've seen something called Miracle Box, but I dont want to use it since it does not look very legal, I think its meant for FRP bypass. I'm just an android user trying to root my personal device e.e
I'm having the same problem, I'm tired of this, never buying Samsung again. I tried all the things I searched on the internet for hours and nothing works, I do not want to wait 7 days, if you find a method of bypassing that actually works, please do tell me, I will do the same if I find one.
I'm so pissed.
I have good news for you my friend, and for everyone that is reading this. I tried many and more times the same procedure changing small things. I will try to write it out as best as I can so I can help some fellow buddies who've got the same problem.
1 - (As I had already everything backed up and got nothing to lose) Factory Format the device (I did it from the bootloader), hell, I even also cleared cache just for god's sake.
2 - Proceed to initiate Android, DON'T sign-in to any account (nor Samsung nor Google), don't change the date during installation, finish set-up.
3 - DON'T enable Developer's Mode yet. Change the date, I've set it for a month back just to be damn sure (disable automatic date-set). Now go to the Software Updates tab and disable auto-updates and manually check for updates, once done, re-boot.
4 - Once rebooted enable auto-date (that should correct the old date and replace it with the actual one) and re-do the manual check.
5 - Re-boot and enable Developer's Mode and hopefully, for the love of Ragnar Lothbrok, OEM Unlock should be there. I hope it is for all of you.
Hope it helped, good luck buddy/buddies!

That is awesome! I'm going to try it tomorrow, I've been using the device doing my third 168 hours. If it fails again I will repeat everything like you did.
Thank you!!
Sent from my SM-J530G using XDA Labs
Another 168 hours wasted and I followed the trick above, it does not work it was patched with the august 2018 security patch, my device is running with the november 2018 security patch.
My frustration is beyond what I expected to experience with this device... I guess most people were able to activate this thing except me >.<
Enlighten me
When you keep it for 168 hours does the WiFi have to be on or is that not necessary

OK I tried something and it worked to unlock the oem.
Have a Samsung account, then go to find my mobile website and press unlock.it did the trick for me.hipw it helps you as well
Firstly, i use miracle box and then i use samsung tools pro to "reboot" my device because when you unlock the bootloader there is a fail on the room.
here you have a video which could help you.

I apologize for my stupidity...
On a recent trip to China I recklessly purchased the used TAB A 10.1 model SM-P585Y.
The tablet worked perfectly, but when I came home I did a reset to clean it and once restarted the system remains with the FRP Lock.
The operating system is Oreo and I can't load any more twrp.
If I downgrade to Marshmallow, it doesn't reboot but only enters Factory Recovery mode...
In this mode, if I enable the Developer Option and then usb Debugging in the settings, there is no trace of the OEM unlock.
I can't load TWRP with odin nor with ADB (but maybe I don't do the correct procedure...)
If I do the update again at Oreo there is no recovery...
This is because when I flash Oreo with Chimera, the image file in the firmware is greater than the PIT, so I have to skip otherwise it stops.
When I start the system only arrives at the google account screen but I can't go any further, not even by opening a sort of chrome browser reduced by touching the google sign from one of the info screens that I can access from the keyboard settings.
Can someone please help me?

Any chance of turning off FRP through the Google account of whoever's account was on the tablet once you had it? I thought you could disable that by logging into Google with that account and turning it off via the web.
Then again, I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed, others probably know much better.
Good luck!
