Not sure if any of you have seen this, or if it is on here in the development section.... but that is a pretty insane increase! 16+mflops/s! Stock is about 6mflops/s...
JIT makes my phone run 3 times faster but its not stable. Thats why Cyanogen does not include this by default. I cant wait till then have JIT bug free.

I think this is an issue for quite a few of us.
It seems that sometimes the screen registers a completely different place to where your finger touches.
I would say it's bad but I was touching the screen on my Nexus and selecting apps on my wifes G1
I tried contacting Cyanogen via Twitter, but he never responded. I know that the Galaxy S is listed as a supported device for CM6, but I don't know if this includes the Epic.

Well yes, but it is like the black sheep of the family. I'm pretty sure a CM6 build for the Vibrant/Captivate wouldn't work on the Epic due to the hardware differences.

The difference chances are would be minor...there is no reason why not to support it...
Reason my guess it will be minor is it would be too much hassle for samsung to create separate firmware just for 1 phone one 1 carrier when they are distributing the phone to so many companies...so chances are it will be 99% the same..

Just because Samsung's ROM is close doesn't mean the AOSP ROM will cleanly transition from one device to another without individual tweaks.

Well of course....just by the fact that it has a wimax radio means it will require tweaks...but I'm saying the tweaks will most likely be minor.
I just wanted to make sure the CM team was willing to make those tweaks and support the Epic.

I don't think not having Cyanogen is a dealbreaker.
Cyanogen was what made me love my Nexus, but it doesn't make a phone unlove-able.
As long as there is a good recovery image, optimized kernals, and theme support in the community, I'd be happy.
Then again, if he just made CM6 for the Epic, it would make things alot better.

That is true. I am so anxious to get this phone, I am going to keep my nexus though as my stand alone developer phone and dev android only, it is a headache to dev on my nokia n900 sometimes.
I don't want to have to rely on Samsung for software. I've heard Touchwiz is buggy and slow and Samsung has a bad reputation for pushing out updates. The hardware on the other hand looks absolutely phenomenal and with CM6 loaded on it, it would leave other phones in the dust.

We don't even have full Froyo working yet..(specifically the JIT)..things take time...
As for Touchwiz being laggy isn't really true, whats lagging is the crappy RFS partition which is limiting our I/O...thus causing the lag...we have a fix for it but it still needs a bit improvement...
But for this phone chances are Samsung will support it...
Be patient..the Epic isn't even out yet...

I can't really speak too much on it, being that I don't own one, but apparently the community fix raises the I/O performance back within the range of the Droid X. I'm not worried at all about it, personally. If Samsung doesn't fix it, the community will

Touchwiz is blazing fast for my on my moment.
Now that our hopes of getting FroYo is going down, is CyanogenMod 6.1 Final the best bet?
I just unrooted my phone because of Wi-Fi and Google Market issues.
No wifi issue here with superfroyo. And the market issue can you fix. Just delete the market cache.

Just grow up.
Legend is getting Froyo. Still acting like an impatient child. It's ready when it's ready. I don't want non-Sense UI. I don't want to downgrade my HTC thank you. I will wait for Froyo, and a bit longer to for it to be rooted, that is al..
lol i wont froyo too
If CM6.1 releases before FroYo for HTC Legend, I'm going the CM6.1 way.
If you see the other thread, I was the one telling someone that FroYo WILL come but the question is 'WHEN'?
We don't want to have to wait till its 2011.
Not starting an argument, that's all.
Also, removing sense isn't really a 'downgrade' as you put it. Better Batterly Life. Have you even tried Launcher PRO/ ADW.Launcher?

Better battery life? That's a myth. CM6x is has WORSE battery life, due to the inferior kernels and overclocking.

but i think they've been working on it, since black legend is getting it and also similar phone like aria (gratia) got it too.

Why would HTC say that 2.2 is coming when it isn't ?
For a laugh ? In order to show the world how unreliable they are ?
No !
Froyo is coming but since the Legend has never been one of their flagship phones and relatively few people own it how many people do you think they'll dedicate to the project ? They do have other business to attend to as well you know.
All you have to do is have a little paitence and get your obviously fragile emotions under control. Doom and gloom will get you nowhere.

It's already better than the Nexus One (ugly). This thing is svelte. I'm glad it still has the antenna bump because it's the reason why our reception is good. The Fascinate doesn't have this bump and it has some reception issues with losing service because of the smaller antenna.
- The speakerphone will rock
- SAMOLED
- Flash for those that need one
- LED Notification light for those that need one
- GPS is probably going to work out of the box
- Stock Android
- Good Reception, better than the Nexus One that's for certain
- PERFECT size
- Updates handled by Google
I don't think the Nexus S has super amoled, does it?
That phone is the reason that the Vibrant will probably never see Android 2.3 (or won't for another 6 months or so).
Unless the Nexus S is sporting a 1280x760 screen then its not worth considering if you already have a Vibrant

The Nexus One has a lot of roms so maybe the Nexus S will have a ton too.
But a lot of devs are HTC fanboys too so idk
This is what I've been waiting for! I'm gonna need to upgrade my signature - a new Nexus is what I need in my life!
Okay, So my warranty is no more since April of 2012. I was curious to know if I was to root my phone and flash to a ROM if i wanted too. Will it effect a phone replacement for example if my screen went out like my previous MyTouch 4G did will it get replaced even if rooted and flashed? I have the T-Mobile insurance on my phone.
Rooting voids your warranty, but it can be undone as long as your phone boots.

Android Revolution HD is great and very pretty.
MIUI is quick, but pretty. If you don't like the look, change the launcher.
Synthetic_Nightmare's aospx ROM is fantastic, and it's ICS.
And of course, you can't go wrong with CM7.
These are safe choices. I would suggest installing a few of these and keeping a backup of one or two while you explore the myriad other choices in the dev section.
Edit: I also hear good things about SkyTouch 4G.

Try virtuous infinity, Elgin has a awesome new kernel so pretty much everything works. It's full sense 4 so it looks beautiful. It's top notch eyecandy but battery life suffers compared to stocks ICS.
For stability and eyecandy, I suggest ARHD or TDJ darkside sense. Both are awesome and pretty much everything work.
If you want the new stuff, any of the jellybean roms in the dev section will do, if you just use your phone for simple stuff like email, angry birds and stuff like that, any of these roms will do.
For raw performance and battery life, CM 7 all the way, looks despicable if you flash it after a sense 4 Rom though lol.
