Yes, it's the first thing I would do. Check your PMs.
Same situation here - U8800 just arrived, lovely! But the updated firmware is no longer available from the Huawei web site. Can anyone send me a PM with a link to the latest firmware please? Thanks!

Thanks Tommixoft.
I notice this is B162, which (I think) is the version intended for the China market. I was expecting B136. Is there any risk involved in flashing B162 on a UK model?

OK, so here's the plan for how to spend my Saturday morning . Comments welcome.
1. upgrade firmware to B138
2. install superboot (not sure if I need to do this...)
3. install CWM 4.0.1.5
4. (optional) install new ROM (Oxygen 2.2.1 or FLB r7)
Did I miss anything?

Superboot was designed for 2.2.1 (B136) and may not work properly with 2.2.2 (B138). You don't need it at all if you install Oxygen/CM7/FLB/Miui.
Yup, I suspected that. Thanks for the confirmation!
So i received my X5 with U8800V100R001C00B135SP01 CUSTNLD253D001
I guess the customization is for Dutch market.
Does anyone know what these customizations are?
Also, i'm looking for a newer rom, but huawei isn't very helpful.
Can anybody please sent me a link to most recent stock rom that will work
in Europe (the netherlands)?
Thanks a lot for helping.
Any European B138 Roms should be much better compared to what you have now... The customization is limited to some applications that Netherlands Operator has agreed to get for this phone...Check your PMs...
Thanks!
I'll give it a try.
Does anyone know why they removed the roms from their site?

Katu, please send me that PM.
I've try'd the b136 rom for a week now, but i've found no differences... phone still reboots at random times. Using the dataconection (3G) gives reboots often.
Guess i've received a brick from Huawei.

I think the devs should leave the orig build info in the tab and just add on their sig to it for fallback reference.

That's not possible because each dev uses whichever build they want to base their rom off of. For example, your original stock firmware may be US, but developer1 uses ww base. Once you flash that rom, your tf will now be based on ww and there is absolutely no way of telling what was on their prior to because flashing the new rom will wipe and override any information from your previous rom.

Understand, so how will one do an update through ota? I'm sure Asus will have a hard time reconciling a tab's sku/serial conflict. I'm all for innovation and better ideas but if a tablet's profile is modified beyond recognition, it could wind up getting bricked if someone tries a manual update.
I wonder if there's any way to cross reference a serial to an sku? I don't see anything helpful at Asus' website.

If you have a custom ROM and/or custom recovery, the OTA will fail anyway.
If you have modified your device, are still on Lollipop and you'd like to revert your UK device back to complete stock, then you can use this package.
Download the zip, extract and put on a microSD (preversing the dload/UPDATE.APP structure).
Turn off your device, plug it into a charger (but not a computer) then, with the microSD inserted, tap the power button while holding volume up and volume down. The update will apply and you will be back to bone stock B130. Your device WILL be wiped.

I couldn't use the existing L21 B130 ROMs available on my UK device so I assume there are sufficient differences preventing installation.
I've bought my device in germany from vmall.eu and have the same Build and Cust N° - I guess this rom is not just for UK.
BTW where did you get it?
The phone line isn't run by Honor themselves. The rom came from Honor UK. It was given out to people unable to flash the MM beta.
Yes, the latest Xposed supports Huawei now without deodex.

Well it needs a full update image to be available on the server, which currently isn't on the server. So it's pretty useless.

Hi everybody,
this is my first post so please forgive any "incorrect habit" might come out of this post.
My situation is the following: I bought a Huawei Nova smartphone about a week ago. It comes with Vodafone brand and the complete build model is CAN-L01C02B130CUSTC02D014.
I read lots of forum posts and blogs over the web and what I learned is that:
- L01 means single sim;
- C02 means that is branded Vodafone;
- B130 is the firmware version;
- CUSTC02D014 is the custom build with the debug version.
I want to debrand my smartphone (without unlocking or rooting it, if possible) so I downloaded FirmwareFinder and, from there, I fetched every firmware compatible with CAN-L01 following to my build model (made on 2016-09-14). Unfortunately, I was not able to install any of those firmwares (very strange).
Given the above-mentioned information, here are my questions:
1 - is it possible to debrand my smartphone without unlocking and rooting?
2 - is it really possible that every firmware made after mine (on 2016-09-14) failed to install?
3 - how can I pick a compatible firmware?
4 - someone wrote that before installing a more recent firmware, one must debrand by downgrading and then (only then) update the firmware itself. Is it true?
Thank you very much,
Valerio

I think that is better not to install it using the three button method. If you going to do it, at least have a nandroid backup, assuming you unlocked your bootloader and installed the twrp.
One other way to try, requires a unlocked bootloader too, huawei extract tool and then flash system.img and boot.img at least.
I linked the source, but Idk if it is going to work and requeries courage to do this :/
Edit: sadly, wait for the official upgrad is the most safer thing to do right now

You are probably stucked because you upgraded to the latest bootloader:
After updating bootloader to U5/S5 (as in case of G95xFXXU5DSFB) it will not be possible to downgrade it again to any U2/S2/U3/S3/U4/S4 version

Here's a workaround:
Backup your present baseband on TWRP, flash ALEXNDR Oreo's ROM then restore your baseband, otherwise you won't have mobile signal and your IMEI will be unknown.
So in theory the only way to downgrade to Oreo or less, is having the bootloader unlocked with TWRP right? if not, you're stuck
No Bootloader downgrade. Not possible.

Quick question for you @nemesisexsp as you seem to know what you're talking about.
I'm in the same boat as OP. attached is my SOFTWARE INFORMATION section with my baseband and whatever. Slightly different to what you've posted on your screenshot.
Can you suggest which files I should use from the ALEXANDR Oreo Mod selection? also, just the ROM, or do i need to do something with the BL files also?
I'm rooted (with TWRP), so that shouldn't be any issue.

I suggest you flash the last Oreo ROM available for the S8 model (SM-G950F/FD). After you flash it you can boot normally in the ROM and see if your mobile signal is fine, if it isn't just restore your PIE baseband on TWRP.
Here's the original post in _alexndr thread where you can find the ROM link:

Because Pie is absolute trash on the S8 Active. Battery life went way down hill, constantly stutters like the CPU is loaded or it is thermal throttling, notification screen blanks preventing you from see any in the bar. Tapping notification doesn't always open. They ruined the camera UI. Control via bluetooth doesn't work anymore(forget the name but used to when I started my car it would automatically open Pandora and play. Instead now I have to unlock the phone and open Pandora manually".
I only wouldn't be surprised if it come out later that Samsung pulled and able and deliberately crippled devices to encourage upgrades. Joke's on them because my upgrade will be a different brand.
