Hi all,
Anyone have an idea on how to fix the below?
background info:
- knox 0
- MJ7 stock rom but with MJ1 bootloader
- rooted
- android 4.3
incident:
- restored a bad copy file to /data/system/locksettings.db
- deleted /data/system/locksettings.db-shm
- deleted /data/system/locksettings.db-wal
- now phone boot loops; it loads to the start screen of the touchwiz launcher then immediately reboots
- i can access download mode and stock recovery mode
anyone can point in the right direction how to get this fixed while keeping knox 0 and my data intact? theoretically i would want to push back the correct 3 locksettings files into /data/system
EDIT:
It seems since there is no Huawei P8-Subforum, my thread seems to has been postet to misc. Development. Im sorry about that!
Hello there,
I spend the last three hours trying to get the device (L09) to work again. I made the terrible mistake to update my phone with custom recovery (TWRP) installed. My target is to upgrade from B191 to Marshmallow.
The main probleme here is that I don't own a micro-SD card plus the internal storage contains a dload-folder which I can't delete.
My current situation:
- The phone is bootlooping at bootanimation
- I can access the fastboot-mode, stock-recovery and upadte-mode
- My internal storage (intenal SD-Card) contains a folder named "dload" with the B200 firmware
- I flashed the stock B200 recovery.img and boot.img (extracted with Huawei Extractor)
- When going to update mode the phone proceeds to 5% and then shows "Software install failed!"
I don't really know how to proceed from here on. I tried to flash TWRP again to clear the dload-folder and place another firmware, but somehow twrp can't be installed anymore - flashing shows "OKAY" but when booting into recovery, the same old Huawei recovery is booting. Also I'm confused as to when to leave the USB plugged in or disconnect it.
My current plan is to revert to 170 firmware to start completely over. I downloaded the 170, 200 and 313 firmware.
How to proceed?
EDIT:
I flashed recovery.img, boot.img and system.img from B170 and now the boot repeats at the Huawei logo. After flashing boot.img and recovery from B200 I get to the bootlogo again, which is stuck.
Solution:
After flashing boot.img from B191 the B170 firmware booted successfully. I got a few random reboots at the start, but they quickly grew less and now I have a somewhat stable B170.
Upgrading to B191 or B200 didn't work, tho. I'm trying to get behind that now.
hi guys....
i have a problem with my phone. (Zenfone 2 Laser ZE601KL)
the problem is i got update and when the upodate start i cancel it.
now my phone is booting directly to the recovery mode. even i make a wipe of data and cache partition but without result.
i try to flash the officiel firmware, using adb and fasboot.
adb detect my devices but cant connect to it , it show:::::
C:\Users\Poste 8\Desktop\dv>adb shell
error: closed
and fastboot no response

If you still have stock recovery, copy the official firmware to your external sd card. Boot to your recovery and apply update from sd card then find your officia firmware. Dont cancel update next time.
Hello guys.
I have a zenfone 2 laser ze500kl. I downgraded my phone via twrp and install from MM to L version, but when I successfully installed the L version i cannot access to a fastboot mode or stock recovery. Only the asus logo displayed. I manage to remove the battery to restart and successfully gain access to my installed apps and used it but the fastboot mode is gone. Im afraid to type a command in cmd again because im afraid that it will bricked and I cant access to a fastboot mode or srock recovery.
Anyone can help me please. System veraion is WW_12.8.5.118
If you have the firmware of your MM stock from ASUS website, try to copy it in your external and internal sd card. Go to setting and check for update if something pop up about update, update it maybe it will install the MM ROM with fastboot and recovery. Try also to restart phone and check for update.
PsS. Why bother to downgrade when MM is better the L?

im just trying to root my phone, i read in the forum that it is tested to root asus ze500kl with L version.
i have a copy of both MM and L to my sd card. is it safe to update it via settings update?
I dont know but I think it is safe to update back to MM via update setting and maybe it will restore your fastboot and recovery. Because you encounter those problem while flashing back to L.
It is easy to root your once you have TWRP insalled, just flash Superuser or SuperSU zip and your stock ROM will be rooted.
Did you try rooting your asus ze500kl in MM veraion?
Im following a thread here. He said he successfully rooted his asus via cmd. "mod_boot.img" he share in the forum.
I dont have ze500kl, generally you can root your phone by flashing supersu or superuser zip.
Ah ok. Tnx for the help bro. Appreciate it
Asus zenfone 2ze500kl
I cant get into a recovery mode or fastboot mode by pressing the combination of keys. What can I do to get to recovery mode to be able to flash os? Now just Asus logo appears all the time and nothing happens.
Help please!
I installed ROM with QFIL. but i forgot to backup
many do not work, such as wifi, hotspots, sensors, vibrate, rotate, etc
please help
so if you're in aosp rom right now after flash via qfil, just flash the asus stock rom via fastboot
