Using bluetooth to my car radio... - LG V20 Questions & Answers

I have a uconnect that is up to sate and worked perfect with my note 3. Ulgraded to the v20 and now it doesnt display any info over bluetooth. No song name or title. How can i get my car radio to display all info when streaming over bluetooth while using pandora or sootify? Thanx

Same problem here in my ram with it stopping the stream then it restarts playing. Also camera compared to the note 7 is a joke.

U would with think it would work better with a newer phone. I hope theres a fix. All i do is stream music in my car

Did you remove the plastic covering the camera lens? I said the same thing until someone told me it was there.

Pretty sure I did. I can feel the indentions in the lens. The pictures get blurry when you zoom in on them and lose detail. Where the note 7 stayed clear and sharp. The pictures look like youre running a smudge filter on them when you zoom in. My 7 year old daughter looks like she's a smoker in her 50s when you take a close look at her. Ill have to go in and look to make sure there isn't a filter running lol.

LMAO they do grow up quick!

I have the same issues in my Ram. I am wondering if it is Uconnect. Also doesn't recognize phone via USB. 2016 updated uconnect as well.

Mine was completely opposite with my BT radio(different company/brand).
My 2012 Mazdaspeed 3 never displayed info with any of my Samsung phones, got my LG V20 and I have data again.
From my research it had to do with Mazda not supporting the BT stack that Samsung used. An update was required but Mazda did not offer it for free
See if this app helps with displaying metadata

I will check that out when I get back to the truck. On travel now so can't try it. Honesty that is the least of my worries with the stuttering and volume issues. At least the Aux works!

The camera is just as good as the Note 7. There are plenty of reviews on youtube to support that. If your opinion is based on looking at the phone only, the over saturated amoled on the Note will look brighter, more vivid but not natural.

I have a 2015 Wrangler w/UConnect. Bluetooth info streams fine with my RBZ430 HU. However, I do get the occasional skip now which I did not before using my S7E. Both have BT 4.2 so it has to be software implementation.
Has everyone updated their Headunit Firmware?

I did update it. No luck. I had no issues with my note 3. Tried the app posted previously and no luck. Very annoying. Wish there was a fix for this

Unless for some reason the screen isn't displaying the picture correctly, the note 7 in my experience was way better. When I take a picture with the v20 with any kind of movement it's blurred, and in low light that really isn't very low, the picture looks very smudge. I took a picture of my daughter In her costume, and to be honest the picture looked pretty bad. Whenever I took pictures with my note 7 in the same circumstances it way out performed the v20.

Maybe you have a bad device. There is a good review on Android central v20 vs pixel

My v20 is also the same. Pics are awful when zooming in. 1st pic is about half zoomed in. Grainy. 2nd about 75%. Just awful. This can't be normal. My note 3 took better pics

Yup same thing here. Very grainy or smudgy.

We can't be the only 2 experiencing this. So disappointed. 1 of the biggest reasons I bought this was the camera. Might be going back to sprint tomorrow and returning it. Also don't like that my car radio does not display info when my note 3 did. Might stick with that for now

I'd say bad device maybe a bad batch. There are plenty of people on here, G+, Android Central forums not having your issues.

V20 paired quickly and works perfect with my 2015 Hyundai Sonata. Both standard Bluetooth and also through Android Auto.
I did have issues in the past with my 2013 Sonata and whatever phone I had back then, I change too often. The Bluetooth metadata didn't display until I updated the radio firmware, which wasn't free, but worth it.

Ths only time I dont see any info about playing song etc. Is when I connect automatically without unlocking the phone. Works great and I wish to have quad dac working with BT too =)

Awesome tablet, terrible camera

I've been having fun with this tablet for the past 24 hours (it still still stock...for now), but I went to take a picture and the camera is just terrible. Doesn't seem to have autofocus for what I could find, and no matter what distance I shot it at, the text I was trying to take a picture of just came out blurry.
Hopefully this is something they can update via software otherwise it is just a horrible hardware limitation. Just wanted to share.
Camera is fixed focus. Hardware issue, not fixable with software.
I am using Camera ICS +
Did you read the reviews on this thing? The cameras were constantly being put down by everyone that reviewed it.

I just take a photo with my HTC Amaze and then BT transfer it to the Tab 2. Takes an extra 20 seconds.
its a 250.00 tablet buy a camera if you want something that takes decnet pics.
always some that have to whi ne and moan over anything
I'm totally fine with the camera, let's face it it's a WiFi only tablet there aren't going to be many people who use one of these who aren't also carrying a smartphone.
Samsung had to make some cuts to the thing to get it to the $250 price point, much better they go for low end camera components than omit a GPS sensor or a front camera or a MicroSD card slot (IMO)
Also IMO taking pictures with a tablet always looks kind of goofy, being 7" it's not as silly looking as a 10" tablet would but still.
yeah I am happy enough with the camera for the price. It was literally a borderline decision so any more cost and I probably would have not purchased.
the odd thing though is that the front camera is awful for skype yet seems to record in far better quality. Which confuses me, its worse than the front camera on my xperia play for skype.
maybe a software issue? should try out some other video chat progs with the front camera to see

Jjust traded it from a Xoom JUST REALIZED I HAVE NO FLASH,!!
Taking pictures with a tablet!? Whats this world coming too!
You folk have just convinced me 85% to get this thing in June. I regret on thing though, the 8gb memory, with the possibility of higher specs of the same to show up soon. Ahww!
Btw not all 8 gbs are available for storage. The system uses some of that. The 7 inch tab can take a 32 gbs sdcard though.
Yes, the camera is awful even for a 3.15 MP one, but my guess is that it seems bad because the lack of flash and the fact that you can see every detail and flaw of the photo on the large screen.
Who walks around taking pictures with a tablet?

[Q] Does camera really sucks ?

Hi,
so i'm looking for any information about Nexus 4, as i'm trying to get one, but i see in some posts that the camera sucks... I also check this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2039553 and i would know if anyone could post a pic before/after the mod. Just to see what is the real pic quality.
Thanks !

Sucks is a pretty strong word. There are plenty of sample pics in the N4 forums so do a search or simply look through the threads in General.
There is a lot of noise in low light... but this is common with tiny sensors. In good light it is capable of very good photos, but saturation and sharpening are a bit laid back. As an experienced photographer I actually prefer this as opposed to other cameras that pump these up by default. Always easier to add then to subtract in post.
Compared to the best phoneCam out there (iPhone), the weakest link is the lens. It is exceptionally prone to flare, and resolution tends to fall off steeply in the corners and there is not alot you can do with these in post. All in all I think it is a pretty good camera for a phone, and if you know what you're doing you will get good shots.
I would just say it's mediocre. It's okay in good light but is worthless in low light conditions.

Coming from a S3, I'm not disappointed.
Coming from a Galaxy Nexus the camera is great.
Coming from a N8, heavily disappointed.
Yah, terrible comparison, I know.
My s3 did have a better camera but I wouldn't say it sucks I still like it a lot and it gets the job done. The only thing I don't like is it keeps auto focusing even if I'm holding it still i prefer to just hold the center blue button to focus and take a picture

Coming from a htc sensation, same quality. 10% worse maybe. Panorama is rubbish compared to the sensation though.
my Nexus S with 5MP did a better job
Yep, camera isn't good,. Video too. Focus is dodgy on both and the microphones and sound quality on video is ****. The video and audio bit rate is way too low.
Very disappointed coming from a s2.
In fact once the s4 comes out I'm going straight back to Samsung .. Even if it means I don't get the latest android versions.
The n4 is slick but that's about it. Lets face it, it's heavy and quite thick, battery is crap, camera and sound quality is crap, the build quality is questionable.. Mine creaks above the volume and the buttons are loose, it's fragile has no SD card, has no removable battery.
Now the hype has gone its meh.

[VIDEO] HTC One vs Galaxy S4 (in car footage test, front and rear video)

Alright, well here's the conditions to the best that I can remember.
Focus not locked. Didn't see an option for that in the Galaxy S4 menu. Galaxy S4 software based stabilization was not turned on. Anyone want a redo with it on? Hardware stabilization was on for the HTC One.
Also have the Optimus G Pro, Note 2, and iPhone 5 available for tests if requested.
Front facing camera vs rear. Thoughts?
EDIT:
Software stabilization turned on for the GS4. Does anyone know if this actually use pan and zooming to stabilize the image? I'm guessing it does and there is no other way to combat shake.
EDIT:
On my trip to Colorado I added a low light test. I was pretty drowsy. Just woke up from a rest stop nap!
EDIT:
Tried to let the HTC One redeem itself in the audio department. No cases and subject (me) is in front of the camera. No bouncing the sound off of a windshield. It is definitely quiet than the S4, but turn up the volume and let me know what you think.
Seems like the s4 audio sounds better. The HTC one audio sounds echo-ey. As far as the video, they look similar in quality but the viewing angle is wider on the one. I think I prefer the zoomed in on the s4.
Man, I keep going back and forth on these two phones

The One video seems more color accurate and the OIS really stands out when mounted in a car like this, and obviously has a wider FoV. But the S4 has much better audio recording quality (the One had some weird occasional popping going on too).
As far as front facing cameras, again the One has a wide FoV, but the color seems better on the S4's. Whether or not the One is color accurate on the front facing cam, the S4's just plain looks better.
Here's hoping HTC has a firmware update to address the audio quality coming, because if they fix that then the One takes this victory.

If you do a youtube search for HTC One Concert you will find a lot of really great audio recordings by the HTC One. I don't know why it was inferior in the car but I've heard other recordings with the HTC One where the audio sounded great. My own recordings with this phone sound much better than this video.

In the comments on the video he says the holder it's in is blocking the rear mic. That's why the audio is bad on the ONE no way to fix a huge obstruction like a holder no matter how good the mic is.
I've done three tests. Do you think it's just the output levels? Seems pretty strange.
I didn't see any options and everything is being processed in the same fashion.

Actually the holder had a very narrow grip. I was noting that if the audio was directed toward the lens it might sound better. Instead in these tests there is a big ole windshield.
I'll figure something out!
Any suggestions are welcome.

The mic on the HTC one is on the back, right next to the camera. The sound from the HTC One is echo'ed because it is actually being bounced off the windshield.
The mic on the S4 is on the bottom near the charging port I believe.
Great comparison video. The S4 seems much sharper and has better color.
Can you please do one in low-light? (night time driving) Would love it.

Galaxy Note 3 - Low Light Camera Noise

Hi All,
I just purchased SGNote3 N9005 yesterday. The battery performance is decent, S800 is blazing fast and I really enjoy my new GNote.
Unfortunately, the performance of the camera is sub-par compared to S4 (in overall), especially in low light condition.
Attached is the samples of the photo taken under low light condition, red spots (tint?) are seen on the screen as well as on the picture taken.
Could anyone confirm and reproduce this bug?, if not I'm looking for 1 to 1 replacement...
Is this going to be another HTC One Camera bug?

Droid Turbo Review.

The phone has some slick features like the Moto voice services where you can wake up the phone with your custom voice command with the phone being up to 5ft away from you. It also detects when you are at home, work, in a car or sleep and automatically changes behavior of apps based on where you are. The home screen widget is nice too, it gives you up to the minute weather details and lets you know how soon it'll rain or snow down to the minute. The battery life is amazing, once you leave the house you never have to worry about using a charger for the rest of the day.
Now those are all great but the good ends there with me. The camera was subpar and all weekend I was out at events and parties and I wish I had my Note 3 with me to take pics. A lot of the pics came out blurry, the eyes on people where white devilish looking. The call quality sucked too, I had the volume as high as it can go and unless you are in a completely silent room you will have a hard time hearing. I went to the gym and had my beats headphones in and volume to the max and I could still hear the gym radio. There's no notification light on the front of the phone, this to me is a huge disappointment. I use the Lightflow app and i have a different color light for every notification and it comes in handy when you want to know what type of notification is awaiting for you without touching the phone.
I will be returning the phone this week and going back to using my Note 3 while I wait for the Nexus 6 or Galaxy Note Edge to come out.
Pros - Great battery life, premium metal feel, home screen widget, lock screen notifications look nice, Moto voice services.
Cons - Screen isn't too bright, low ear piece volume, low volume with headphones, poor camera, kind of slippery in hand, no notification light, no removable battery, no expandable memory.
Good review. I agree with all of it.

Not sure what your problems are with the camera... I have an S5 and Turbo tends to take better pictures in most situations by far, especially in low light. It's not the cameras fault that you can't hold it steady when taking a photo...
I think your only valid complaint would be the LED notifications. Which if you did any research at all before buying the device, you would of known before purchase it did not have. Everything else can and most likely will be addressed soon. The storage complaint is old, 32GB is fair & they offer 64GB at a competitive price that no one else is really matching.
Go have fun with TouchWiz & Samsung plastic I guess.
Go into settings, sound, and audio effects. Disable the equalizer. Everything will sound miles better.
Camera is kinda slow though, I'm with you on that.

Lol wow, you act like my review was about you. I'm going to post a few pics and you tell me if they are great or not. I've seen other post where people had to tweak settings etc but my Note 3 took way better pics. Even when I use Snapchat the focus seems slow and delayed. It seems like you have to as still as a statue to take a good pic and that's not always an option. And as far as the notification light issue, I just figured that was standard. Even if I knew it wasn't there it's still a negative against the phone.

no offense but I don't think it's the camera...you're just bad at taking pictures

Nah. I just think a lot of the comments around here are quite silly towards this phone. It's like people went and purchased the phone without even doing any research and expected it to be better than anything on the market.
I agree, those pictures are quite bad. However, it's not purely because of the camera itself.
For one, you are using 15.5 MP 16:9 and not the full 21MP 4:3, which tends to produce a much better picture. Secondly, you are most likely just randomly snapping without even selecting a proper focus exposure. The pictures are blurry in most cases because of the low light situation, you probably have HDR enable for some reason and the fact you don't have a steady hand while taking the picture does not help. Third, I notice flash in most every shot, which on any smartphone will tend to produce a horrible picture.
You just point and shoot. So your pictures are bound to be bad.

Funny I knew that would be your comeback, but I had other people take pics when I wanted to be in the pic and they turned out bad. And when I take pics with my Note 3, people always say how they look great and even better than iPhone 5/5s.
The camera is slow on the Turbo and I'm not the only one to say that.

That wasn't even me, some random guy. But he is right regardless.
At least you have taste, nice Moto 360.

Unfortunately I don't have any more I have taken yet due to work. But the camera is fine.

I have the note 3 and i kinda agree with you on the camera stuff... but I think your just too used to the really good quality camera on the note 3.
I completely agree with the OP, the Turbo produces mediocre pictures compared to other flagship phones. Landscape photos in particular lack detail.
FYI, taking photos in 16:9 format is what most people do, not everyone wants 4:3 photos.

I'm actually pleased with the camera quality. Just not the shutter speed. It could be a tad faster.

Huh? Small Pic is cropped from larger. You can almost read the numbers on the gauge. That photo was taken yesterday through the glass on the doors which probably degraded the image slightly also.
There's like 5 guys (not the OP really, I think he's new) posting over all the forum about how "mediocre" everything about the Droid Turbo is, changed the tone to negative in this section. They know who they are. It's an exclusive device with a locked bootloader so it's a small part of XDA, 5 butthurt guys can make a lot of noise.

That's what I'm talking about, close up photos seem to be great, it's really lacking in the distance area such as landscapes.
Just to show you where I'm coming from, this was my G3. I know it's not a fair comparison since they are different photos, but I've found the Turbo to really lack in the landscape photo department. Up close photos are great.

What you see there is because of very Low light situations. Low light means a slow stutter speed and any movement (trees or camera) will degrade the image dramatically. I can't really comment on Turbos performance in low light because I haven't tested it yet. But it's ability to capture fine detail is there.
I had sort of assumed that the Droid Turbo has active notifications like the Moto X. Is that not the case? It makes an LED redundant.

I'm aware of that, here is another low-light scenario.

Um, ya. I personally think the Turbo took the better picture here. For instance, I can't even make out Toshiba on your G3 picture. Much more clear/crisp on the Turbo. Not to mention your G3 sample is fairly over exposed & extremely warm in color. But both pictures are relatively bad due to settings and hard to really use as a comparison. Unless you are comparing just a simple pull out of pocket point and shoot.
Your other shots (above) seem to just be point and shoot as well and not necessarily focus exposed or any effort really put into them (I could be wrong). You are also taking a lot of shots pointed/aimed in direct sunlight/sunset which will put out pretty poor quality pictures in general anyway.
Stop posting bad situations and try something that will actually yield a decent photo for comparison. The shots you are taking are really more aimed towards a more high end sensor.
In general you are expecting way too much out of a camera phone in most of your situations.
