MP3 tag editor - LG V20 Questions & Answers

Hello, I used to use MP3edit on 5.0. It no longer works. Anyone know a simple but easy to use editor?
Just want to fix up my tags on the device.

Green Software Problems

Back in my PPC2003SE days I used Green Softwares all the time and loved it. However, as far as I can tell only Alarm Clock has been updated sufficiently enough to work properly with WM5. So I am looking for a FREE task manager/launcher with the same, or better functionality as GSPocketMagic.
I have already switched to using Total Commander/CE as a replacement for GSFinder+.
Speaking of GSFinder+...I activated the "Network" folder and now I can not get rid of it. Does anyone know of a way to do that? I have already tried deleting it with TC/CE and with GSFinder plus, and with my Mac but no it seems to have some kind of protection. I am being to think it is actually a registry setting that I need to change.
Also, is there any solution for controlling WMP from Today, like PHM used to make possible? I do not want to take up more internal storage by installing another player (I already have TCPMP) that has this functionality included. Or is it possible to remove/delete WMP using a .cab like with msmessenger? I really hate WMP but I need all of the internal storage I can retain.
Thanks in advance for the help.

Registry Editor

As we all know, a registry editor is pretty important when modding our devices. I personally hate doing registry edits on my wizard and it JUST SO HAPPENS that today while searching for a new registry editor (i lost my wizard in toronto a week ago and didnt have any software for it anymore!) i found one that works wonders and is based from a PC instead of the PPC. seems to work well for me. check it out! it is attached and it is freeware. it seems to work great with WM6 so i would say its safe to assume it will work with at the very least 5 also if not older versions of WM.
just thought id give back to the community since i have used this resource time and time again!
Total Commader and Task Manager, which come with many custom ROMs, already contained a full-featured registry editor with import/export functions, so why install another one?
this is not based from the PPC if you read my post. its much easier to navigate via your pc as i mentioned in my post.
Just use mymobiler. You can do EVERYTHING on your mobile from your desktop with that program. Then TotalCommander or another program can retain their value as multifunction programs capable of file management, text file editing, and registry editing.

personally as a geek myself, if there is an app that removes the actual interaction of the PPC and moves it into a native windows app id much rather use that. the problem with this app is it still mimics the physical interaction of the PPC. something the registry editor i posted above isnt doing. its mimicking regedit in windows but accesses your PPC.
just to prove my point here are two pics of examples.

Best way to deploy a registry edit?

I need to modify about 200 windows mobile 5 devices with a registry edit for my job.
(This is what I get for being the only person in the office familiar with WM)
What would be the easiest way to do something like this? Normally I use SD/MiniSD Cards to install apps on the various devices - it would be nice to be able to create a .cab that would modify the needed key, so that I wouldn't have to edit the registry manually on every device.
Suggestions?

Might want to browse that or message one of them. I know i read somewhere how to put reg edits in cab format, but i can't remember where i read that at.
WinCE Cab Manager. Awesome program. Used it to create a .cab that contains all my standard registry edits and a bunch of files that I like to use (themes and such). Allows me to customize any flashed ROM very quickly.
It isn't an inexpensive program (I think it was $100 or so), but worth it. You can't import registry edits into the trial version, but I believe you can manually enter registry edits.
If you struggle (and if the edit you need isn't something that is confidential to your company), I can throw it in a cab for you. PM me if I can assist.

Registry editor

I've got SecondToday working fine. In an attempt to now program one of the softkeys to activate it, I believe I need a registry editor.
Can anyone recommend a good editor?
I've seen both Resco Explorer and SK Tools mentioned. Which is best (for a complete novice!)?
Are there any freeware ones around?
Search for the thread that has Advanced Config 3.3 published. There you'll find the site of the devs that do Advanced Config.
On their site you'll find a Registry Editor much like the Windows one.
I use that and haven't had any problems with it.
Ta for that!

Need help with registry edit to add dll files to windows folder

Can somebody please help me with Registry Editor? I am using Romeos 1.9a and I need to add certain files in to the Windows folder using a Registry Editor. I have tried to use the included Total Commander registry editor but I am getting stuck as I do not see any option to import the DLLs I need or even to paste them manually
I am basically looking for a solution to be able to stream live tv programmes using winmo side which is a new service introduced by my service provider using 3G. I have downloaded and installed the HTC Streaming Media Cab but I also need to add some DLLs associated with the cab to be able to launch the streaming app. I simply do not know how to add the DLLs to the Windows folder using Registry Editor. The procedure and materials needed are explained in a different forum. See Post # 90 by Shahad.

This is of course for a different device but I believe similar steps should work with a liberated Shift as this is HTC's own streaming media app.
Somebody please help.....
Nevermind, will answer my own query. I managed to add the files using Total Commander Desktop together with Total Commander CE Plugin. But this adding the files caused the system to be unstable I had to re-install winmo. So this does not work. Just thought of posting this in case somebody reads the post and tries to get HTC Streaming Media app to work with the Shift.....
Closed as solved
