Stopping Mifavor from killing Play Music - ZTE Axon 7 Questions & Answers

More than a little annoyed by MiFavor cleaning running apps when the screen is off. For apps I installed I can deactivate that in settings but how do I fix it for Play Music (does not show up in that menu, presumably because its a system app)? It is really annoying when casting music....

It's a system app so you can't disable the cleaning for system apps. Use another music player from Google play.

I would but I only use play music because of all access which doesn't properly work with other players...
Maybe I could root and convert it into a normal app?

Yes, remove it from system and then install it as a normal app. I think there might be an app to clone it with a different name as a standard app.

Google Music lock screen controls missing

I tried a quick search using tapatalk and didn't find anything. Most of the time the controls for Google Music aren't showing up on the lockscreen while music is playing. Is this happening to anyone else? Sometimes they are there but most of the time they aren't. I've tried clearing data and cache, uninstalling updates and reinstalling. Running stock, not rooted.

Want Google Play Music as default but Samsung Music takes over

This is mainly an issue with Bluetooth and plugging in headphones. For example....When I connect to my phone with Ford SYNC it automatically uses Samsung Music as the default player and starts to cycle through my saved ringtones. Very annoying as I have to physically open Google Play Music on the phone and start my selected playlist manually.
Is there any way around this? Play Music is the default player for all music types I have on the phone but that doesn't seem to matter either.
Any advice greatly appreciated.
Remove it using titanium back app but u need to root first.

That's the problem. If I root I lose Sky Go so not an option.

How to stop apps like Music from staying in the background?

How can I kill the Music app when I am done using it. It is still attached to the play controls!
This is a very annoying issue. I can not believe Google missed it.
I don't use the music app. But have had other apps do similar. Have you tried opening the Play Store app or the Movies app and then close it? I've found opening and closing an app that does it correctly may help. The apps with issues just need an update to fix them.

After restarting the nexus player it still has the play/pause button connected to the music app. I ended up disabling it completely.
No if I can find an eq that works on it.

I believe you have to hit the stop in the app (on screen)to disconnect the app. Also if you start another app that connects to the play/pause button it should disconnect as well.

Audio files undetectable

Hi all,
Nexus 4 is running on Lollipop 5.1.1 stock.
For the longest time, audio files are not detected by any of the music players be it Play Music or any third party apps.
Since I have ton of data on my phone I cannot format it either to install a new rom.
Streaming songs over YouTube or music apps works flawlessly just cannot play the MP3 files on my phone.
Any suggestions to rectify it will be highly appreciated.
Thanks

Are the files visible when connected to your computer or through an app such as ES File Explorer?
Yes, they are visible. I can play them individually but a music app doesn't detect them.

I don't have an answer but suggest trying some new app like Rocket player. Library info will be rebuild from scratch so may be that'll solve it

Take this with a grain of salt, but I think you can try wiping data of the "media storage" app in settings and rebooting. This will force the system to rebuild the media database. I remember reading this a few years ago when I had the same issue and this solved it. If there is anyway for you to make a nandroid or something, I would advise it in case it causes Android to stop finding your media all together.

A music player that show musics image cover on lockscreen

So, when I look up for a music player, I only need 3 features :
_Sort song by last added/modified
_Clic on a song and "listen after the one currently playing"
_Having my lockscreen background set with the music image cover
So far on my P9 Lite, I have not been able to have all of the 3.
_Google music does not detect my music's image cover
_Huawei player cant sort, nor have the button I need
_Phonograph cant set my music image as lock screen cover
I am only listenning to music from my SD card.
If anyone has a solution regarding any of the 3apps I ve tried, or an app that have been prove to work fine with my criteria, I ll be really happy.
Thanks.
I can recommend you BlackPlayer free
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kodarkooperativet.blackplayerfree
or EX version which I'm using
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kodarkooperativet.blackplayerex
But for the 3rd criteria you will need root for every music app to show cover on lockscreen because it's a Huawei issue or limitation.
