ZTE AXON 7 (A2017G) CPU Scaling Governor - unknown - ZTE Axon 7 Questions & Answers

Good day everyone!
I have one specific question regarding our CPU governor. I've just installed CPU-Z and tried to check device's specs. Among other pleasing numbers i've figured out one strange thing . CPU Scaling Governor is displayed as unknown . This is quite strange . As far as i know usually there is 'Interactive' governor displayed. Do we have a custom governor version?
P.S. watching how CPU Cores' speeds change , i've noticed that currently there is a stable work of all Cores all the time even with CPU optimization setting enabled (all 4 cores are always active). Usually this depends on CPU governor , so i'm wondering if that is an intentional feature with propriatary governor from ZTE or some kind of BUG?
B04 version used.

Your fw version is strange for me, I've thought that ZTE skipped B04 version for A2017G.

[Q] Overclocking Defy on CM11

Hi.
I have just updated to CM11.
Can anyone tell me how I can overclock to 1200mhz? In SetVsel I have options for 300, 600, 800 and 1000. Do I simply change the 1000 to 1200? Is there a way to add another box for 1200mhz? Or do you use a different app for the overclocking?
At the moment I have my values at 300/24, 600/34, 800/44, 1000/52.
I have set the GPU to 266mhz.
I have followed the other advice in the CM11 thread such as setting Governor settings in Aero Kernel Control to "on demand".
Thanks for any advice and tips.
John

Thanks. I was getting confused between Aero Control and SetVsel.
Do I need to make sure that the settings in both these Apps are the same for the 4 different SetVsel options?
They are both set to apply at boot so I think one may be cancelling out the other?
No need of setvesel.

If they are both set to apply at boot, then whichever app loads last will determine the settings. That's why your recommended to uninstall SetVsel. You don't need it anyway, since Aero Control is better (i.e. specifically written for our defy).
Aero control is perfect for owerclock settings of defy. I have 1300Mhz of maximum clock and work perfectly in interactive governor. 1300/67 1000/52 600/48 400/22

Fix for 4.4.2 kernel core throttling with Pegasusq governor

OK, this is an update that goes beyond my general discussion on 4.4.2 vs 4.2.2 differences,
I have completely figured out how to make Pegasusq properly throttle cores, and tweaked it to be more like ondemand in fast upscaling of core speeds.
3
It matches what I have with 4.2.2 and allows a stable read ahead cache of 768. Anything higher will cause a dirty shutdown.
Here are my screen captures of a 3 minute time frame of the frequencies used after and during boot, and my settings. Please be sure to copy your settings down before changing them.

I knot iced that my screenshots are not public, so you must be logged in to view them.... Here is a link to my tweaks' it may help.

Update
After a bit of testing further with newly updated apps along with some that I rarely check, as their startup interfaces are more gimmick over their function, I realized that I needed to push my settings further. So, I have made further optimizations that have replaced some of the original screenshots. There are a few changes that were not done previously, thst are now incorporated to allow for better throttling.
My final settings
OK, I am finally done with this! A lot of issues were with xposed. To remedy strange CPU throttling, ended up using the beta test version with my odd mix of modules. Not sure which module does not play well with others but did find it interesting that wanam allowed customizations to the status and notification bars when my CPU throttling was bad. So bad it would not go into power save mode with CPU throttling. Once I removed xposed and installed the test version, wanam would not do much custom changes to the status and notification bars.
Obviously one of the new modules I am using blocks such changes.
Well any way, I can safely use 2048 read ahead cache, and build.prop mods with my tweaks.
So now kitkak is kickass,.
Wanam xposed modules cause core throttlng issues
Well after a lengthy bout of hunting issues with apps causing throttling issues, I was thwarted by Wanam and xposed. First of when I uninstalled exposed, my tablets ability to throttle 300 and 400 went out the door and never came back. Though by some odd instance in testing I managed to get 300 and 400 to be utilized. Primary concern is nnow with wanam, as it is a battery sucker... Tests have shown all wanam modules will throttle the CPU cores when no loads are being put on the system. I am now pushing 8% drain per hour with browsing and switching to apps. Had a few reboots after making system tweaks, 4 ttotal. Each one takes about 1% of battery.
Not happy at all, as I expected better compatibility with 4.4.x
So now I am wondering if throttling is effected by disabling DVFS, if that can be done? Seems like the wanam DVFS Disabler also has issues like its bigger counterparts. I stopped using wanam now on the 4.4.2 tablet. As it is flaky with power consumption,.

[Q] Any good *working* CPU profile apps like Set CPU?

I'm on lollipop so I just noticed but SetCPU hasn't been working for a while.
I need a program where I can say
When screen goes off -> underclock to X, importance 5
When battery at 50% underclock to Y, importance 1
When battery at 35% underclock to Z, importance 2
etc.
I only want it for underclocking. The build in battery control doesn't do much and my battery life is pretty terrible when I use the phone (screen on) a lot. I've tried CPU control pro and it would only allow me to set single profile, not have it changing interactively. If anyone has any good apps they've been using let me know, I need to do something about this.
Thanks!

Since over/underclocking requires root the answer is there is no such thing for lollipop

I am rooted, on JasmineROM 5.1 (LP 5.0). I just followed the instructions avoiding the OTA and retained root. The CPU control programs I've found work for one setting, just not with profiles.
Let me widen the question out. Does anyone have any good CPU control utilities for LP or KK?
I know there is no going back one you're unrooted on LP although I've heard if you go back to 4.4.4 there is a method.

Battery draining-Heating problem [Best Advice]

Battery draining-Heating problem [Best Advice]
Advice I
Most modern devices are running at much higher clock speeds than necessary.
What is the obvious problem, it is how many devices are very poorly optimized governor
(Auto-switching frequency and the number of cores in the processor), depending on the current task.)
For example, when watching a video from YouTube processor all times hammered with 8 cores and at maximum frequency.
In order to reduce unnecessary waste of resources of our phone:
-Battery-draining
-Heating problem
(Maximum speed and core busy for unnecessary actions)
No-frills CPU
app from google play, you need Root authority.
We limit the processor speed to max 1,183 GHz
(In these settings can be played Asphalt 8 to a maximum settings.)

Be sure to let No-frills CPU to work in sleep mode:
(Battery/Power saving management/Advanced power saving/Smart battery for apps/Disable auto cleaning)
Disable auto cleaning for No-frills CPU application

Advice II
With tools (Mobileuncle Tools etc.)
which enable tweaking of the MTK android phones
(allow you to run Advanced Setup)
go to Engineering Mode Menu
and deactivate MTK Logger.
Sometimes MTK Logger:
just takes a smartphone from a deep sleep
and holding unnecessary strained memory.

[Tweak] Battery Saving with Decipher Kernel

Hello people! ... Happy 2017 for all of XDA! ???
I'm using CM12.1 for play games more well than MM & Nougat ROMs … but the battery life is not very good....but then this month I decided to find some APP or a Tweak that would reduce battery consumption too fast.
After a hard search and ....really found nothing more ......I stopped to think .... And if maybe we reduce the screen resolution to increase performance and also lower CPU cores from 4 to 2?
Yes guys, that's exactly what I did ... and then I concluded that the performance will be the same ..... The decreased resolution will stabilize the battery duration with the same performance!
Decipher Kernel ( you need to have Kernel Auditor! )
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mo...kernel-decipherkernel-cm12-1-3-4-108-t3169304
Screen Shift
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sagar.screenshift2
1 - Kernel Auditor ( on Decipher Kernel )
# CPU Hotplug
Intelliplug - Balanced
Hysterisis Value - 16
Impulse Touch - OFF
Max Frequency when screen off - 787mhz
Go in MSM MP Decision and put the maximium of CPU in 2
# I/O Scheduler
Use in internal storage BFQ , and esternal ZEN
128kbps both
2- Screen Shift
When vou installed and open for the first time ,click Cancel
# Resolution
540 x 960
# Density
200
# More Settings
Set on boot √
Display custom display mode during call √
Important
If every time on Boot if the Screen Density looks very small ,go to Screen Shift and active him!! Some ROMs not support Resolution changing on Set On Boot!
I highly recomend you to use Greenify ( Root Mode )... And LSpeed!! There awesome Tweaks!!
I ask you to test and give me feedback !! I would even test the battery run time but it is bad due to excessive use of VPN for 2 years ....unfortanely?
Sorry my bad english ,i'm Brazilian!!
This serves for any Cellphone with a Custom Kernel and same Hotplug!
So i did a test with your setting normally with 4 core's i get 5hrs sot max. Even with your setup i am getting max 5hrs sot so this make no diffrence was using Halogen kernel & Lineageos 14.1 Jan build
