So I've had an S7 Edge for a while, and I rooted with a few different Roms on this site. Right now it's running the superman ROM. I need to sell this phone now, so I was going to put the stock firmware back on. I'm not too familiar with Samsung phones so I don't really understand how Knox and Samsung Pay works.
My question is, did I trip Knox by flashing custom Roms, and will Samsung Pay or other payment systems work if I put the stock firmware back on?

samsung pay will never work again but u can use android pay after flashing stock rom.

Hello XDA. I am going to unroot and return to stock firmware and recovery as i would like to update the phone through samsung kies. As i understand i need to update the boot loader and modem. I then plan to reroot and install ktoonz recovery and get a newer rom. I have an SM-g900w8 (telus) currently running x-note NE2 software version 3 i belive and ktoonz 08.04.2014 kernel with twrp 2.8.0.0. I rooted the phone 3 days after i got it and never took a samsung update. I am just curious as to weather i need to revert to stock recovery before i flash the stock firmware. I made a brick out of my S2X trying to revert to stock so i am a little gun shy. Also wondering if this whole coarse of action is advisable and worth the trouble. If there are any known issues with rooting and flashing after samsungs latest updates. Also if anyone can provide or point my toward the stock firmware for a telus sm-g900w8 that would be great as i cant seem to find a reasonable place to download it. i apologize for not doing more reading and research but i just spent 6 months away from home working so i am trying to catch up. So I flashed the SuperStock ROM the other day. To get Samsung Pay working.. can I just flash a stock TMobile firmware (i have a tmo model) via ODIN and restore the phone back to stock ? I understand Knox will still be tripped once I flashed it. Will that prevent Samsung Pay to work ? Anybody do this before ? lol

Hi there! Nice to see you around... used your ROMs years ago on my HD2!
Well, regarding knox, as far as I could read so far, there is no way around it, except a dev has a something hidden and didn´t tell the community yet. Once tripped, there is no way back and samsung pay won´t work, unfortunately. I already tested by "unrooting" and flashing a stock rom through odin. It will state that the rom is official but KNOX = 1.

I always used custom rom in my life, i was at Xperia Z1 and the stock was very bad... But with S6 i don't feel i need to get a custom, i enjoy a lot the Samsung work on the stock, but after looking the Miui 7, i really thought in flashing the custom rom.
So the question is... I saw that Knox and Samsung Pay will not work after the process, is there a way, later, that I can get back to original and get the Knox and Pay working again? My concern is about the security on Knox and the Pay when i sell the phone in the future, because I don't use this feature...

Im no expert on android devices but from what I am heard you have to do a full factory reset to a stock rom and samsung pay will be enable but knox counter will still show that it has been tripped.

Can samsung pay work if i root my device and flash supermanrom.
Can i return knox if i lose it during flashin? Maby returning to stock?
Will my samsung gear s3 work if i root my edge7? and can i use samsung pay on it, if is not work on my phone?

I flashed Android Pie to my S8+, but now I have to send it back to Samsung as part of the trade in deal for the S10. I've been trying for hours trying all of the trouble shooting. Pretty sure the issue is just that The bootloader veresion number im using is too low. Current on phone is G955USQU5DRL7.
Ive tried to BL Odin files for 7.0, G955USQS3CRE2. I can not find any other ones. This one fails, and AT&T firmware seems to be impossible to find.
I'm still new to this, as flashing Pie was my first time bootloading.
Am I just screwed.?
Hate to hijack your thread, but willing to share where/how you got Pie on it? Is it an AT&T locked S8+ or unlocked?

Correct me if I’m wrong, but you just installed their beta without being in the beta just factory reset and send back the phone. You never tripped Knox they will just think you were in the beta.
