Has anybody else cured the vibrating camera issue? - ZTE Axon 7 Questions & Answers

Seems like something is off in there, weird vibration thing, camera is completely hazy, you have to shake the hell out of it to return to a clear screen, which is only temporary. I've heard that its because you dropped the phone too many times.

You might have to restart the phone or something. Never had this happen to me.

Happens to me very frequently

problem while talking on the phone

Does anyone have an issue with your cheek pushing buttons while you are on the phone? I am running liberated_aria and whenever i am on the phone, my screen does not shut off like other phones and I end up either hanging up on people or moving widgets and even adding widgets..
has anyone else noticed this? is there a fix for it?
Its happened to me once on an Aosp rom. Haven't had any problems after that though.

I haven't had any problems. The proximity sensor is on the top right of the phone, where the AT&T logo is. Try making a call, to voicemail or something, and then waving your finger over the sensor. Does it ever turn the display off? Could be a software bug I suppose, or just a faulty sensor.
if you use your left hand/ear its pretty easy to dodge the sensor, unfortunately.
I tried a call using my right hand and I dont have that problem. Only the left.. I guess Ill have to start making all my calls right handed.
It figures...
Us southpaws always get the short end of the stick. FWIW, I almost always hold my phone(s) left handed, and only rarely seem to have this problem. ( It might just be that I have a huge head, and big ears. )
Im a righty and sometimes when making calls i get a haptic vibration from my face touching the nav buttons i think, nothing happens though.
My girlfreind is having the same issues with her handset.
We found her an Aria about 2 weeks ago at Best Buy Mobile for $1. They are running some great special for non-iphone handsets. The Aria was giving her problems and we ended up exchanging it. The 2nd Aria also has the same issue. While on the phone, her cheek will press random buttons and even hang up. Sometimes she just feels vibration, sometimes its a number pad press, and sometimes she just hangs up all of a sudden.
It seems to be some sort of sensor issue. Does anyone have some insight as to how to fix it? It's kinda of a big deal if the phone function is impaired by having to hold it away from your face.
Thanks!

Other then making sure her head is covering the sensor, she canlock the phone in mid call and it should stop her phone from registering her cheek while on a call

Huh. I'm a righty, but I talk left hand / left ear, and I never have any problems. Do you tilt the phone in some strange way?

Thats a good idea. Thanks.
This issue is really pissing me off. I love this phone a lot but the proximity sensor is not working as it should, atleast with my head shape.
Seems almost in every other call I make/receive my cheek contacts the screen and pushes something because the proximity sensor is not detecting me head.
I've tried locking the phone with the button on top of the phone but that does not work, it's only temporary until the proximity kicks back in.
And, the funny thing is, when I try to "test" it out or replicate the situation I can never seem to do it again! It always happens unexpectedly.
I'm in the same boat with this too, but it's a hit or miss thing and really could be much worse.

i can't say i've ever run into this specific problem. i've actually been impressed with how well the sensor has been working.
i would agree with the previous poster who suggested to lock the screen once the call is active. make your call then tap the power button to lock the screen and that should help you avoid the issue.

Water Indicator Location?

Not sure if this is posted in the right place, but has anyone found the water indicator on the S4?
My phone no longer vibrates, no matter what sound mode its in or what type of message or call is sent to my phone. I have checked all my settings and everything is set to vibrate. I've rebooted my phone, and left the battery out for sometime and still not vibrating.
I was working out and am afraid moisture may have gotten in the phone, which is causing this problem. I can get it replaced through warranty, but want to make sure I didn't trip the moisture indicator.
Thanks in advance.

Yeah no rattle with mine. I believe I found the obvious moisture indicators on the battery, and under it, but I don't know if there are any other indicators I should check.

Proximity sensor kind of wonky/bad?

Anyone else have proximity sensor issues on the G2? Ever since I got it, it's been very wonky, even when it was purely stock. The worst problem is often when I take the phone away from my ear it doesn't turn back on, and then it seems that the knock on sensor stops working, and I have to hit the power button. Sometimes when I put the phone to my ear when getting a call the phone goes to sleep and the call gets cut off.
I do have it set to automatically answer the phone when I raise it to my face, so maybe that's an issue. I'll disable that and see if it helps.
Anyone else? I'm kind of bummed as I use my phone as a phone first and having something like the proximity sensor work is absolutely crucial in my phone use.

I've noticed that everything works well with this. Surprisingly so. On the s3 i would always get the black screen issue when pulling away from my ear. Ringtone even lowers as i pick it up. I could never get that to work on my s3. Not that, that matters.

Yes, but not all the time. When it does happen, i can't get the screen to come back on at all until after the call ends. It doesn't do it on every call but when it does it's really bad.
I'm running tge Verzion Clean Rom right now but it did it on the unrooted stock too.

[Q] G2 "ghost clicks" screen sensitivity

Has anyone noticed that their screen is picking up "clicks" without actually touching the screen?
on occassion my screen will detect a button click even if i haven't actually touched the screen. It's starting to get annoying, but I don't know if that's just the way the phone is, or if i'm too used to a capacitive screen rather than a heat sensitive one.
i had this happen a few times. not enough to bother me that much. it happens sometimes when my finger is hovering really close to the screen, like i'm getting ready to press on it but not yet because i'm still reading whatever it is on the screen, and then it ends up clicking it anyway. i think its happened a total of 3 times for me. 2 other times though, i've had the screen do double taps when i was just swiping around. trying to scroll up and down on a webpage and it registered as zooming in. i did do some zooming in and out a few seconds prior so i think for some reason it was "stuck" on double tap mode or something. had to switch the screen off and on to fix it.

yea it does the same thing for me as well. I sometimes go to press a letter and the letter gets pressed twice. it's really annoying. i'm hoping that if i buy a screen protector it will get better but i'm betting that I'm gonna have to battle with LG's terrible customer service.
Never happened to me. The screen (as with every other smartphone I have had) doesn't react unless I'm actually clicking. Even if I touch the screen with the SLIGHTEST touch I can do, it doesn't react. Which is good, no problem reacting when I actually click.
I guess it might have something to do with my fingers being hard as metal due to guitar playing or something.
On mine it seems to get worse as the screen gets oily. If it starts to wig out, I wipe down the screen and that usually solves the problem for a couple days.
When my screen gets overly sensitive i turn the screen on and off again. Usually fixes it.

Maybe i'm just crazy, but when i spend this much on a phone I shouldn't have to turn the screen on and off constantly to get it to work.
Hopefully LG realizes this is a problem and rushes out an update...

it happened to me... not only that the screen freezzes from the ghost clicks... the clicks are on middle of the screen staying... for example by playing Plants vs Zombies 2... the screen doesn't react at all.
I think that has something to do with the "smart-stay" or with the screen time-limit.
... plus of that... the phone gets really hot at that time.
any solutions?... or back to guarantee?
Greets.
Never happened to me, however I know exactly what you're talking about from using cheap Chinese tablets. Therefore I suggest getting it fixed or exchanged.

Unintended taps during call: how to prevent them?

Hi!
I"m not the only having the problem: during a call unintended taps takes place while screen waking up is not registered during the call. So, you see, I'm not sure a proximity sensor is the reason of the problem as far as screen is kept turned off.
I have tried to reproduce the issue by fingers, but wasn't lucky.
Have you any ideas how to eliminate the problem?
I mean not-rooted official up-to-date stock firmware use case.
And, by the way, I haven't found proximity sensor calibration in service menu for A1. Is it placed somewhere into another place?
That happens to me all the time too.
Yup, me too. While in call I sometimes unknowingly turn on the flashlight and probably look like an idiot. ?
With the rn3p I would constantly end up muted. With mi a1 the problem is much less although I've noticed that numbers are still pressed. I've learned over time to switch to keypad so when something gets touched it's not the mute and at worst the other person receives some key tones.
I also have this problem a lot. I mute myself 9/10. To bypass to problem, I just lock the screen before placing it against my ear.
Yes, a simple soutions is just when you call someone, imidiately press power button to lock the screen (no password or fingerprint requred to unlock)

That's what I've been doing. That and pushing the top part of the mobile on my face just to make sure. lol
Oh and use the Feedback app and send it to xiaomi and hope they fix it on the next update.
i had this problem too, has it been fixed in the latest of updates? its a really annoying bug.
You must be doing something wrong. This issue "must" have been in all smartphone operating systems in the world, if what you are saying is the truth.
There's no way to drop the call, or press anything while you are calling someone. The proximity sensor doesn't allow turning on the screen when it's close to an object. The gyroscope also turns off the screen when you rotate the phone vertically during a call.
But all I can say is that it's not a bug, this is how is your phone knows when you are in a call, and you put your phone to your ear, or when you use your "speaker", and so the phone knows it's supposed to used it's speaker to transfer voice through the call.
Beside my poor English, try to move your phone a bit vertically before putting it close to your ear.
same problem here, also disabling ambient display... i also tested proximity sensor with some apps and it seems ok
I have that problem too from the beginning. None of the updates came up with a solution
Same here: I mute, turn on the flashlight or even open apps sometimes with my face. And thanks for the input @SmallTarzan but i know how to operate a smartphone and did not have any similar problems for the last five years. Apart from that annoying bug it's a great phone.
Wow, i dont know of this bug since i'm using custom rom from very beginning.
Try to make a call then use your hand to cover top part of the phone, screen doesn't lock??
I am having this issue too and it is really annoying
And still nobody came up with a solution???
It's easy to understand why it happens.
Proximity activates while you're in a call, but apparently the touchscreen digitizer remains working (even though the screen is off). Touching the digitizer with your ears or cheeks activates different actions while you think your screen is locked.
I can't believe how this issue is not fixed yet! That's a shame!
Same applies for the network fluctuation issues. You need to either choose 3G or 4G to avoid loosing your data connection.
Xiaomi that's more than LAME! You need to be ashamed of yourselves.
It happens to me quite often, although not always.
It's more frequent during long calls. If the call lasts for less than a minute or so, it doesn't happen.
Proximity sensor works, and screen turns off as soon as I put it at my ear.
Keyboard is off and not responding for a while. Then, all of a sudden the phone comes alive.
In my case it's not the torch. What I activate unknowingly is the handsfree loudspeaker, which can be even more embarrassing, sometimes.
Maybe it's because I am left-handed.
In an attempt to have the proximity sensor fully covered by my face, I tried to make calls by holding the phone with my right hand, but to no avail, after some time the screen wakes up regardless of everything.
Happens to me too. Although I did notice some differences regarding the position of the phone on my ear or which side of my head I put the phone on, I started pressing the power button long ago to turn the screen off. It may not be ideal, but it takes care of it.
