Temporary Root on HTC m9+ Supreme Camera Edition - One (M9+) General

Hi all,
I installed sunshine app on my HTC m9+ supreme camera edition, but I can't proceed because I need to root my phone. The only things that I want to do is change my cid from Hong Kong to Taiwan to get the Android 6 update. The app is not able to temproot my phone, is there any chance to do it? I don't want the permanent root.
Of there are some custom rom for my device I can think about keep the root, but if not I don't think that make sense.
Please me know.
Thanks om advance.
Gaetano

Be patient!! It will be rolled out to Hong Kong finally.
If you still decided to s-off, you didn't need to get root privilege by yourself.

SunShine runs as the root user, root applications can add or remove permissions on the fly without user permission.

To be Root, or not to be......

As an Android user, and all the world on apk's made for android, i'm just curious on a point.
Why is there too many applications that need a rooted android phone out there, considering that all firmware after 2.3.2 is non rootable with an apk like gingerbreak?. I know that gingerbrak just breaked an exploit in android to do that, but at thas time, it seems that they patched very well that exploit, so, gingerbreak doesn't work anymore.
Assuming that for the masses is not possible to root phones "on the fly", why are all those companies making a lot of applications just for rooted phones?.
On the other hand, all people knows that an integrated Service pack in a windows installation DVD is more powerful (clean), that one upgraded to SP(x). What about Android OS?. Does a latest IMG firmware pre rooted is more "clean" than a updated (OTA) firmware?...
Just my thinking....

You have to keep into account that :
1/ It's a question of choice. As long as you can get root access on a phone, it's only logical to have apps that benefit that, seeing as they give you control over the phone you wouldn't normally have...
Besides, apps that require root access are not developed for a specific phone, i.e. Arc. It's not the developer's problem if a phone can be easily rooted or not, they just want to give you apps that take advantage of this change.
2/ Obtaining root access on the Arc is not impossible by any means. You can unlock your bootloader and easily root it no matter which 2.3.x you are using. Again, it's a question of choice.

FOTAs are more or less branded by your carrier with loads of bloatware, so yes, a generic global ftf or img is cleaner than those.
The cleanest though is CM7, as it's based on vanilla Android.
Hope this makes it clearer.

[attn] root and unlock your 4.4.2 xt926 now!

Hey, go ahead and take the OTA now, and do it NOW because another OTA is on the way that will definitely remove the root exploit which means unlocking your bootloader will be gone.
As SamuriHL and LifeAsDroid have mentioned in other threads, THIS IS A GIFT FROM THE MOTO GODS (an inadvertent gift that wasn't meant to be given to you, but it has been), so PLEASE take it NOW and use it, abuse it, whatever.
BTW, if you're worried about warranty, you already will void it once you root and they have a root checker built in, so they CAN tell if you rooted or not, so if you're going to root, you might as well unlock the bootloader too.
So, go here to root AND unlock your phone. SamuriHL has been keeping new findings up-to-date with this thread, so do it now:
http://www.droidrzr.com/index.php/topic/46155-rootunlock-razr-hdm-build-183-kitkat-towel-root/
Get Towelroot and the latest Motopocalypse files from SamuriHL and unlock your bootloader. Do this NOW because I just received an email today about another upcoming soak test, which means, root WILL be lost (Towelroot only works on kernels dated before June 3rd, 2014) which also means, once you lose root, you cannot use Motopocalypse to unlock your phone AND they'll probably re-patch the unlock exploit again.
So, do it now or forever hold your peace.
There already is a thread for this here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2783912
Thread closed.

no custom Rom for M9+ plus ?

i actually tried to find it under m9 developers section but there is nothing so i guess the only place for M9+ is (m9+ general ) but there is nothing here i could find so if there is really no custom rom for M9+ so why i need to unlock the boot loader (which i did) or root the device ?
no one knows ?!!
I guess it is just bit too early for having a lot of options. There is one custom ROM atm that is in fact just a crutch for those who have imported phone with no support for EU languages.
Unlocking and rooting has nothing to do with it... especialy rooting...
But for example I had to get S-OFF to change the internal CID identification so that the phone things it was made for EU and download EU based OTA updates. And for S-OFF you need to unlock and root the device first anyway.
Maybe it is just because all the people are waiting for Marshmallow update and they are generaly satisfied by HTC software?

We have CleanSlate
Apart from CleanSlate which is an improvement, we don't have anything else like AOSP which would be a good framework for further development. Hopefully some devs will pick up our phone.
CM13 is supported on the M8 and M9 so it may be possible to port it to ours in the future

Should I root my phone or not?

So, my A1 should come later this day and I want to know if I should root it or not. I want to install Google camera but I need to root my phone to enable the Camera2 API, or is a way to do it without rooting?
Can someone give me a link on how to root the octomber update and keep getting OTAs?

Root and software update

Hi guys, my questions would refer to root privileges with regard to OTA software update...
But firstly...
Do you think that KingoRoot apk constitutes a reliable root service? Do you think one can root his/her device just by installing the app via browser in the phone and launching the root process?
And now the initial question:
Do you think that OTA software update can remove root from the device? Or, does the fact that one can perform OTA software update indicate that there is acutally no root on the phone?
(Device: Samsung Galaxy J5 2016)
Thanks!
Help me I have a Sharp aquos shv32 who was sim locked tell me anyone about who I can use the Flashing tool for Sharp models
As like a Umt or cm2 tools etc

Hello, never root your phone using king root and kingo root, it will get damaged
After that, always root your phone with Magisk because you can hide banking apps with it so that it doesn't know that the phone is rooted.
And I think it is possible to update the phone again with OTA by rooting Magisk
And you can always remove the root
