Stock firmware for Moto g4+ XT1643 - Moto G4 Plus Questions & Answers

Hello all,
I am having the phone XT1643 with Build MPJ24.139-23.1 . I want to install stock recovery and firmware. I have gone through the links in other thread for downloads but all those are providing for other builds. I have seen for builds MPJ24.139-13.1, MPJ24.139-13.3 and MPJ24.139-63.
So, should I proceed with other builds or should I search for build with MPJ24.139-23.1?? Also, which one should I use and will I be able to update further using OTA updates??
Note: I am having TWRP at present, also my phone is showing OTA update with build MPJ24.139-63
Thanks in advance.

You have already provided the answer with your question. Your phone shows you an ota. You are already running the 23.1 build most probably. Check from Settings->About phone-> Build number.
Note that you have to be non rooted and have stock recovery to flash the ota successfully.

Sorry to say, but please read my query once again. I know my build number. Also, I am having TWRP but not rooted and it is showing OTA update. That's why I want to install stock recovery.

Look at your thead title "stock-firmware-moto-g4-xt1643".
Well, if you only wanted the stock recovery, what was this info about? Additional info is not useful info if it's irrelevant.
I was under the impression that you were looking for the ota zip file.
Wouldn't a simple " can someone provide me the stock recovery from the 23.1 build of xt1643" been enough?
Anyways, you can download it from the link below.

Thanks Silesh,
I have downloaded it. But while I was flashing it using fastboot, it showed "Image is not signed or Corrupt".
However, TWRP is also gone.
Is it normal?

That's OK. Its just a warning. If it says OKAY, you are good to go.
Obviously you won't have twrp. You just replaced twrp with the stock recovery.

I would be very careful with this. Please do some research before flashing.. there has been some reports of soft-bricking. The file will not flash with TWRP or CMW and needs the stock recovery. Also, you will need to do some extra work to get a custom recovery working and root.

Ohai, thanks for linking to my article. I've written a follow-up, complete with today's OTA, as well as how to apply it via stock, unrooted, and official firmware running stock recovery.
Nice so can we get a bootloader unlock please

I am pretty certain that ship has sailed. Moto caught on to the exploit before and fixed it with an update, and KK is much more secure than any prior software. I highly doubt another exploit is going to be found.
For all my 9.30.1 people, I love you guys too.http://pan.baidu.com/s/1eQimdea
Enjoy that official KK ota for 9.30.1 over that slow ass chinese server and stop trying to get the 9.18.94 to work.

Has anybody with stock, unrooted 9.30.1 actually used the file in this link? I'm getting a bit impatient waiting for the OTA. LOL
EDIT:LOL I had to remove the link from my quote because I have less than 10 posts.

[XT1092][OTA][OFFICIAL][RETEU] 23.16.3 OTA Rolling out and ZIP captured

Hi guys,
It seems like 23.16.3 is rolling out for XT1092. I restored my Moto X 2014 to factory and upon first boot, it had an update available. Update doesn't contain anything new, but Stagefright fixes and a couple of bug fixes. File size is around 18.52 MB.
Unfortunately, I wasn't rooted when I was downloading the OTA, so, if anyone who is rooted and receives the OTA, kindly grab the zip from /cache folder and help the fellow XDA people
Screenshot after update below.
Download the OTA zip file here: https://docs.google.com/uc?authuser=0&id=0BwpO3632-7ANQzVTOVphdHFXcmM&export=download
(Thanks to renzs!)
or at the end of the post as attachment.
Place the zip in Internal Storage of the phone, and then check for update in Settings, and then press 'Install Now' :good:
OR
Install through ADB Sideload in Recovery
Go to Settings > About Phone and check for the following:
System version: 23.16.3.victara_reteu.reteuall.en.EU
Build number: LPE23.32-25.3
Congratulations! You have upgraded your phone to the latest OTA as of October 01, 2015.
Here you go guys. Untouched file captured from my cache folder.
I'm rooted and unlocked so have not flashed.

It would be nice to have it repacked for twrp
Did anyone capture the ota link? ?

Is there any way to apply this to a GB unit? I.e. from
23.16.1.victara_retgb.retgball.en.GB retgb ?

This is for OFFICIAL and unmodified version of system firmware. For TWRP, checkout the posts in this thread :highfive:

Unfortunately, no. You'll have to wait until someone with RETGB variant captures the OTA.

No, it's for stock recovery only. We need to wait for someone to repack update for TWRP.

I doubt this is the full zip, it is the same OTA zip we already have.
Also the guide is all wrong, the OTA does not install with TWRP, even if you have stock YOG7DAS2K1 build installed.
Please check again before posting
It Works only on stock recovery
i was using the CM 12.1 with the stock recovery and i could flash the file with stock CM recovery

I read the whole thing, the part for updating from stock is ok, but the second part is not complete, it says "Download CM13.0 ZNH0EAS26M complete update for OnePlus One devices with custom recovery installed. Click here", and there is no link to click on (except all those clickable ad keywords). it is a placeholder for when the complete update is available.

If you're trying to install OTA stock or just motorola stock firmware
https://github.com/motoxplay/stock
If you're on a custom rom e.g CyanogenMOD.
Usually if you're on a weekly build such as cm-13.0-20160625-NIGHTLY-lux.zip It should prompt you with an update, if not then go to settings ---> about phone ---> System updates
Other custom roms usually have an update software that can be found somewhere in your apps list.
Also you can't get OTA updates if you're on stock motorola firmware that has been rooted.
Hope this helps you!
If you're on stock rom and rooted just wait for a full stock rom flash file to be available. Then you just need to flash your phone using rsdlite with service.xml selected to keep all your data

There's only one correct way to unlock the bootloader, with the unlock code sent by Motorola.
Here's a tutorial:

This is about flashing stock, below you'll find flashing TWRP and Magisk i.e rooting. Links for TWRP, ADB and Fastboot and Magisk are included.
I'm about to make an own thread for this and expand it with things like unlocking, decrypting etc .

You don't have to flash stock (that part of the tutorial was written for another user).
After unlocking the bootloader your device will be wiped and if your build number is OPSS28.85-17-6 you should actually receive one more OTA up to OPSS28.85-17-6-2 (Feb 2019 security patch).
After unlocking and maybe getting that update you can flash the latest TWRP as usual and root by flashing magisk.zip from there.
