I am in the Android beta program and flashed the 7.1.1 update. My stock camera up is VERY dark in all apps. Is anyone else experiencing this? Or have a fix?
Nexus 6P Android 7.1.1 SuperSU 2.78 and ElementalX kernal 3.06 installed.
Thanks
its the kernel, they aren't updated for 7.1 yet
Just revert back to stock kernel(or decrypted stock) till 3rd party 7.1 kernel is released.
Not to beat a dead horse, but everyone here is correct. There's no kernel source posted yet. That will happen no matter what kernel you use until source drops and developers update.
Someone said that they flash a 7.0 vendor image on 7.1.1 and it fixed the camera issue..
You could try that but make a backup first.

Thanks for the comments guys,
I figured if the kernel was the issue it would have affected more than just the camera.

As far as I know, I have not come across any AOSP roms as of yet on the 24 baseband, that would be the issue. You should flash back to a 12b baseband to use an AOSP rom at this time.
Edit:
I stand corrected I have come across it seems one AOSP rom based off of the 24a baseband, but it seems the developer has left this project.

it's been a while since we've got lollipop. The kernel sources of the same are already out but no real developments for the device is taking place , sadly.
Requesting Devs to build a good custom kernel to solve all the lollipop related issues and increase performance and battery life!

No kernel released yet for lollipop? Sorry if not.
I thought Shaky had talked about a released one in his thread for custom kernel for KitKat(see the comments on the last page)
BTW, can you help me to safely downgrade to KitKat? Running xolo version of note 7. It was fine except a little battery drain but yesterday, on rebooting started "optimising apps". How's the screen on time with heavy gaming in KitKat? Mine came with lollipop.

Sry but i don't remember about how good/bad the screen on time was on kitkat. I am still on lollipop since it came out.

History: Let me explain how this port came about,
I am known for my Kernel development on the G3, I build a highly advanced custom kernel thats capable of reaching clock speeds of 3.03ghrz and gpu clocked up to 700mhz..
We are talking about a g3 here.. stock speed is 2.47 and gpu stock at 530mhz.. anyhow I build for 9 variants of the LG G3..
Which is d850/d851/d852/d855-32/d855-16/d856/f400/ls990/vs985 . Being a kernel dev, you learn what hardware goes with what..
For example: the D851/D856/F400/LS990 are all BCMD Devices. while the D850/D852/D855/VS985 are all WCNSS Devices.......
I know from experience that the f400 (Korean) is 100% same as the D851(T-Mobile).......
Same holds true on the V10 with the H901 and the F600, When I first tested it, I flashed the untouched boot.img and system.img,
and it booted fully with no issues.
I extracted the system and boot from the KDZ my self........
When I first booted, the only issue we had was keystore.. Keystore is tied into hardware..
So this is when @aclegg2011 stepped in.. He took the Stock LP H901 RoM's keystore and replaced the Stock F600 MM keystore......
He did some other changes too dealing with files.. and of course build.prop changes............
So here we bring you, The First UnOfficial Stock MM on your H901 T-Mobile V10 Device..........
Enjoy Peepz..................................

@Eliminater74 : For the Main Port and Idea, and Risking it all to make sure it worked.
@aclegg2011: For the file changes to make sure no FC happen and a few other things.

Thanks a lot for sharing your work. Will flash and provide feedback

Awesome I'll be flashing this as soon as I get off work today. Thanks for the hard work and sacrifices you've taken!
Been testing for half a day and can say its working pretty good. All essentials such as camera, phone calls data have been working just fine.can't think of any problems besides the listed finger print issue. Great work on this guys, it is pretty amazing the amount of work that has been put in and accomplished.
Oh sweet, thank you so much guys for the hard work so far. So just boot to recovery, nandroid, full wipe, and flash the zip?
update 1:
I atempted to flash but got an error 7 something about this is not a 6P
TIA
Does xposed work for this? If so, will test this when I get home

It should. Maybe someone will test that soon.
Lol I'm willing to try it. Need xposed for my game, hardly any keyboard have the autocorrect for Underworld Empire, the module Always Correct solves that.

@kdoweb: Make sure you are on twrp 3.0 or above, it will not install if you are on anything lower.
@amoot329: xposed works, but it breaks the second screens incoming calls and contact widgets like it did when we first got xposed to work on our device.
@EJerVJerO: Unfortunately wifi calling, and VoLte is not present in this rom since it is from korean variant.
Ahh thx that was it I'm still on ver 2.85 I will update when I get home thx
I think it's funny, after 20 mins of this thread being made, T-Mobile tweeted about v10 mm official *finally* being released.

Hi,
Was using cyanogenOS but after the termination, went to android 7.x.x roms for security reasons. Sadly, all 7.x.x roms (omni, aosp and lineage) have terrible issues with Apple AirPods.
TLDR: Wanting to go back to a 6.x.x rom, but is there one that is up to date security-wise?
Thanks!
I would recommend you getting CM13 unofficial by sultanxda. You'll not regret it.

Thinking of installing this. Want to stay away from nougat until xposed comes. Can I dirty flash this over a cm13 build?

No, perform a clean flash otherwise you might experience weird behavior. Always perform a clean flash unless updating to a newer build of the same type/ just like for nightlies.
Would it be too hard to update jgcaap's cm13 ROM with color os blobs to the latest security patches? I've seen it done before... I can't go to another ROM after using the color os blobs, and unfortunately jgcaap isn't updating the ROM anymore. His android 7.1.1 ROM is still using cm blobs. I'm one of the few who need xposed because I use micro g instead of google apps.
Hi,
My Nexus 6P is on android 6.0.1 and after reading all the problems with Nougat, I would better stay on marshmallow.
However, my security patch is from April 2016.
I am rooted with stock 6.0.1 MHC19Q.
Would like to know if I can update only the security update and if so, how to do this ?

I respect your decision to stay with MM, but I think it is misguided. There are many improvements that come with installing N, including the security updates. Security updates are part of the OS update and are not available separately. If you want the benefits of the latest security updates, you have to install 7.1.2.
Right now I'm on latest stock rooted with franco kernel and there are no issues. Except there's no xposed support.
But updating to nougat comes with no issues, so u should try, make a backup and flash.
I'm afraid to update because of brick possibility. From what I read, many users that updated, had a brick.

Nah, don't be afraid, I'm flashing everything with twrp, factory images too. No issues.
If by brick issue you are talking about the boot loop of death that's a hardware issue and it happens while you are on Marshmallow, Nougat or a custom Rom. If you are talking about something else as long as your bootloader is unlocked and OEM Unlock is enabled in developer options you should be able to recover in the unlikely event of a flash going bad. Whether to flash or not is a tradeoff. You get the latest features and security updates on Nougat but you can't use Xposed (if that's actually important to you) and you will almost certainly get worse battery life on the latest versions of Nougat than you are getting on Marshmallow. Google has goosed the stock kernel settings lately resulting in worse battery life and the operating system and screen using more battery than previously. The only way to avoid that and stay up to date is to flash a custom kernel or flash a custom Rom.
I have bootloader unlocked from the first day of the phone. I really like this model (except for the camera that responds slower than the nexus 5 one) and would like to use it at least one more year. Really worry about the hard brick and because of its, staying till now on stock 6.0.1.
With N5, I flashed many roms, but in this one, I stayed one year on a single rom that came on it.

The bootloop issue has nothing to do with the os update. It is because of dodgy hardware. It can happen from a damaged and degraded battery. Updating to nougat doesn't cause the issue.
