Unable to use SIM2 when using 4G in SIM1 - Zuk Z1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have purchased this phone on June 2016. Initially, I can say, this is the phone model created with bugs everywhere. First device received from Amazon.in stopped to show network and I took replacement of that phone and its only due to its long lasting battery life. Again with the use of 2 months, this phone started problem in Battery and I gave it to Service Center and they replaced battery to make it working back.
I have purchased Reliance Jio SIM some days ago and tried it. But problem is, Jio has very poor calling capacity as of now and I have to use another SIM which is of Idea. Now, it is wired but I am facing problem as below.
If I change network mode to 2G/3G for Jio SIM, it doesn't work because it has only 4G network.
If I set Jio to 4G, I am not getting network in SIM2 which is automatically set to 2G.
I have tried to check the problem with Airtel and Idea combination as well as Airtel and Jio combination which makes it clear that this is not network related problem. Is there anyone in community who is facing same problem with this device or I am the only one and I have to visit service center again.

Are you on stock cos12.1 rom?

Yes, I did not flashed rom manualy. Its Stock.

You can set only 1 SIM to 4G. Which automatically sets the other to 2G/3G. You can use 4G network either in Jio or the other.

facing network issues On my One Plus Two

Hey guys i have one plus two and its running on oxygen os 3.1.0 i am facing problems on my one plus two i.e first of all i have 2 sim cards one jio 4g n other is vodafone india both sims were running perfectly on my moto g4plus previously now when i have one plus two i got it from my brother so i put jio sim on sim1 it was showing no network and then i put vodafone on sim2 then i didnt got any network unless in disabled my jio card i am getting network on my vodafone but the problem is that after making call network get lost and come back again after 2 seconds and then i can call once and i need to manully search for network on my vodafone sim if it cand find network both sims still work great on moto g4 is it problem with my device only ?
and now i have network on my sim2 vodafone and set to 2g only and wen i enable sim 1 both network get lost and its unable to register on any netwokr on siim 1 and on sim 2 it wont search!
please help me out

Jio is not fully supported on this phone, partly due to missing VoLTE support in firmware and partly because of how Jio doesn't support GSM/2G which is the standby mode for the secondary SIM as the phone doesn't support dual 4G mode. In other words, if first SIM is in 4G mode, second is forced to 2G, and this of course causes problems for Jio SIM.

Help - Note 4 - SM-910G INU working only on 2g GSM.

UPDATE - 25/10/16 - Gave phone to Samsung Service center and they have updated me today that they found the radio is corrupted possibly so they have asked Samsung to give them a confirmation to proceed with Radio firmware reloading which includes IMEI re-coding. There's a chance of even them getting the device bricked of course but lets see what happens.

I have SM-N910G with latest stock rom (N910GDTS1DPI1).
Was using this phone on Reliance Jio VOLTE since end July and had set network more to LTE only (sicne RJio only has 4g LTE coverage).
Last thursday morning I noticed the phone is not registered on network and on trying to troubleshoot further by switching to a different (Vodafone) SIM, realized that the phone is only able to register on GSM (2G) networks and Edge data works too.
Have tried factory reset (and reloading of stock ROM thru ODIN including NAND erase using PIT files too) to check if I can get the phone to work on 3g/4g but no use. Seems like this is hardware issue (radio gone faulty?).
The phone is 18 months old so out of standard warranty hence I'm not much hopeful that Samsung Service center will be of any help. Before I take this there, just wanted to check if anyone else faced such issue before and have managed to sort the same out.

Check your apn settings go to settings/mobile notworks and manually edit apn for you specific carrier.

Thanks but it's not an apn issue. The phone doesn't simply register on any 3g or 4g networks. Hence the thought that it's hardware issue.

Changing hard reset also tried reinstalling firmware
But no luck

What do you mean by not getting Volte on any SIM? It's only for Reliance Jio. For other service providers, you need to get a 4G SIM before you can use 4G.
My phone is now dead bricked and beyond repairs as confirmed by Samsung service center. I'm not spending 15k for motherboard change.

Emergency calls only signal when I tried bsnl 3g
& Tata Docomo 3g sims both sims getting network
Signal & I can call also but when I tried to connect to internet by using these 3g sims my mobile connects and switchs off suddenly I have to pull out battery or connect to charger to start the mobile

That's weird indeed. Have you ever tried any custom Roms or rooting because of which your Knox status would have tripped? In any case it's worth taking the phone to nearest samsung service center. They charge just 200 bucks to inspect the issue and another 200 to reload the software if needed. But in my case it was hardware fault so they couldn't do anything.

I haven't tried rooting yet and by the help of
A local mechanic who is a good friend of mine
And has a free entrance in local care center
We both went there and the care center gay
Tried to flash the mobile but no success now he says
That we should officially send the mobile to
The care center in a bigger city or like Mumbai
Where there are experts to tackle such weird problem

All the best mate. Just remember that they will ask you to sign up for Dead Brick risk which means you're OK if device goes dead during software flashing. The only way to get device working again is to replace motherboard which costs around 15k.

Hey i have the same Problem. i tried, reseting, other custom roms and much more but i dont solved the Problem.

Network issue

I have put Jio 4G sim in slot 1 and Airtel 4G sim in slot 2. Things are working fine and I am getting LTE and VOLTE signals as shown in the screenshots ! But randomly my LTE signal is getting lost ! All I need to do is to go to sim settings and disable sim 1 and again enabling it will bring signals back. This is happening randomly during a day and happening 4-5 times in a day. I have even tried to put second Jio 4G sim to check but same is happening with second sim also. Tried even putting both Jio 4G sim in sim slot 2 but same problem is happening. But my another sim of Airtel 4G is not having any such issue.

This would be due to issue on jio's side.Many people are using jio and they often lose the signal.If there is no signal drop in airtel them it says all.Phone is ok.
But it's not happening with on my other device ! After that 508 mb update it started happening ! & Signal goes hourly ..like 9.43pm & then 10.43pm ! ?

hmmm,well i also have g4 plus with the latest firmware installed.I am not facing that issue.Would req you to post in the official g4 forum of motorola.

Sim card detection issue on some Mobile network operators (Indian version)

I am facing an uncommon issue from past few days on my nexus 6p.
One day all of a sudden phone stopped recognizing my Vodafone sim card, when I tried searching for network manually it gave me only 3 options Reliance, Jio 4G, Airtel.
I tried multiple Vodafone sims, none works. (All of them works in other mobile phones!!)
Strangely Jio sim actually gets detected and lte data works!! (can't confirm calling as nexus 6p does not support VoLte)
Airtel sim also gets detected but can't place calls.
Gave it for repair but after 10 days they suggested there is no issue in sim tray, we have to change mother board!!
Which is very costly. They were not able to detect actual problem.
Can anyone help me if having any idea on what could be issue.
PS: Device Running latest 7.1.2, tried factory reset, flashing couple of ROM (lineage and Pure nexus) without any success in sim detection.

In my case the signal comes and goes in every 10-15 minutes or so automatically. But after the signal loss it sometimes shows "No Service|Jio4G" and sometimes "emergency calls only" in the Network Tile in Quick settings.. But reboot/ toggling airplane mode temporarily fixes it. Did you also had the same problem or was it a permanent signal loss in your case ( I mean even no reboot/airplane mode fixed it) ??? And also while there is signal I'm not able to make/get any calls or messages from my telenor and jio sim but in airtel I get signal for more long time than the others(max 1hr) and also I can make/get calls most of the times.
God knows what's happening. ..I'm really frustrated. ... Did you find any fix yet? Ive heard some got fixed by repairing their ic by technician in local mobile repair shop.

Almost same thing,For me in case of Vodafone signal comes every 15-20 min and goes, can't make any calls even when it comes. For me jio is working perfectly from last one month. no signal loss.
I am not able to find any fix for it. given to a local shop as well no luck. Will update if I find something.

Hmm.. ... In my case I've tried Airtel jio telenor and none of them are stable... Sad to hear you didn't get it fix even in the repair shop... Maybe that technician was not professional/experienced.

No Network on Essential phone in India

I am currently in India, and trying to use my Essential PH1 with a Vodafone India 4G sim card. The SIM is not registering with the phone, and I am unable to get any network. I keep getting the message "your SIM is not allowed to use this network". I have tried contacting the local service center, but they tell me that the handset settings need to be changed. The same SIM works well with other phones in India.
I am using a Vodafone India 4G sim.. its a 'postpaid' connection (if that matters). When I manually select the network, all the available networks are listed, when I select "choose automatically", a message pops up "already registered on the network", but i dont get any signal.
When I manually try to select Vodafone IN from the list, pop up message says "your SIM is not allowed to use this network"
I have checked with Vodafone customer care, and they are sure its a phone config issue.
The same SIM works perfectly fine in any other handset. (Currently running the same SIM in Nexus 5)
Since this phone has not been launched in India yet, there is no technical knowledge or troubleshooting database available locally. Would you be able to help me with the correct settings so that the I can continue using the phone in India?

I'm having a similar problem in Japan with Softbank, which ironically bought Sprint - the sole carrier of the phone in the USA.
There is no signal at all, and when selecting Softbank manually from the list of carriers, an error message stating it can't authenticate on the network popped up.
I faced the same issue a week ago, with both Airtel and Jio not registering the device on their networks. Yesterday, I booted up the phone again, installed the OTA, and was on my way to the Airtel store to talk about it. When I put in my SIM and turned it on, it got a signal and LTE data. I didn't try the same with Jio.
The most likely reason for the phone not being detected initially is that Essential has just one SKU, as far as I know, with all IMEIs of the 99x series. That's the typical IMEI series for Verizon and Sprint in the US, which are CDMA networks. Most other GSM IMEIs are of the 35x series.
I had planned to contact Essential support about this, but I didn't get down to it. I'm not sure what exactly made it work the second time. Maybe the OTA update changed something, or maybe Airtel took a while to auto-register (whitelist) the IMEI of this phone after it first detected it being used with a legitimate Airtel SIM. Regardless, it works just fine now.
NOTE: After I was able to get a signal, I could see the LTE symbol with no internet connectivity. I changed the preferred network type to "Global" in Settings and then it worked just fine. The default setting of LTE/TDSCDMA/CDMA/EVDO/GSM/WCDMA didn't allow data, only calls and SMS.

When using outside of the U.S.A change network type to Global. Secondly insert the Sim (with the phone turned off). You should receive service when you turn the device on. In case you don't, give it a moment.
I had to replace my Sim as a last resort and then it worked without a problem.
