I feel very silly since I know that I know my way around Android, but anyone know where screen pinning is on the Axon 7? Looking at the security tab under settings there is no screen pinning option and searching reveals nothing in the settings app. Stock ZTE ROM B27 A2017U. Thanks!

That's smth else... Screen pinning means that one can't leave the app that has been pinned to the screen...
For me it was actually very useful on my last phone when I passed it to children and wanted them to stick with the open app or game rather then to mess around in my phone.. A pity that it seems to be unsupported..
Ah OK. I don't see it in settings.
I have the screen pinning option in my recents list, but I don't see the option in settings.
I could swear it was there before, so it might be missing in the B27 firmware.
B29 should be available soon - hopefully the option will return.

Just updated to b29, still no screen pinning
Anyone know if there is a nova launcher shortcut or ADB command that can enable it? Or is it completely torn out of the build?

It seems like the official Nougat builds are really horrible when it comes to notifications. I no longer have the option to turn on the display when receiving a notification, which is huge. But on top of that, I don't seem to get any notifications on the lock screen at all, or "heads up" notifications (the notifications that drop down from the top of the screen while it's on temporarily). Am I wrong? Have others gotten this stuff working? I am on AL10.
Well I got lock screen stuff going, it was just defaulting to disabled. But there seems to be no option to wake the display for notifications.

Hi,
I have NXT-AL10. Just got the phone 2 days back and I installed Android Nougat 7.0 directly from Huawei using Huawei ID.
I found a setting that may be the one or at least close to it.I also checked if the notification is displaying on the lock screen and it does. I have attached the screenshots.
When I unlock the phone and check the notifications they are there until I swipe them out. They are displayed beautifully. Unfortunately taking screenshot of that was bit difficult as the knuckle thing didn't work so well. I managed to get these. Hope this is what you are looking for.
Cheers!

I had an issue similar to this on 6.0, it was an issue with themes. Do you have anything under the screen lock style menu, under screen lock and passwords? I have a feeling thats my issue.

Hi,
I checked under screen lock and passwords
options listed are
password, secure lock settings , smart unlock - under the subheading of "passwords"
under "lock screen"
screen lock style, magazine unlock and lock screen signature
under screen lock style
it just displays magazine unlock and when you click that it displays the same wallpaper and asks to apply.
under "magazine unlock settings"
subscriptons, auto-update over WLAN and auto-delete covers
There is a separate application called "Themes" and it shows all the themes. They all look alike but there is no download or edit options available. Even if we want to change or edit those themes, it seems like root is required. Are you rooted?
I have enclosed more screenshots to explain better. Hope you find what you are looking for, if I missed something please let me know if you want screenshot of any other menu or screen.
Cheers!

Here is the ota : https://developers.google.com/android/ota
Es ist da !!!
Just got the OTA on a Verizon Pixel 2 and it's 1139 MB. Yikes, dl now.
Updated just now via OTA. I don't feel it's polished yet, still some things left not taken care of. E.g. Spacing of the icons in the dock is unbelievable and the clock icon is pixelated. Probably more.

I'm not seeing that but I might not know exactly what you're talking about. Can you explain a little further?
Spacing between the icons and the Google search widget in the Pixel launcher dock is too big and illogical. Also, when tapping on the widget and then opening an app from those suggestions, the animation is not the new one, rather the one from Oreo and previous versions. Share animation is still inconsistent and swiping through apps via the nav bar pill is sometimes skipping animation.
I think Google didn't really know what to change so they forced this P update and it's not polished. I know some of this is nitpicking, but they're worlds biggest software company and these things shouldn't happen.

Just one question. With the update did you get the new two-button navigation or the old three button? I ended with same old same old 3-button.

I'm being unusually thick today and I'm just not seeing any of this stuff. Is there an official post of the changes and where the heck they are *exactly*? To say wind in do not disturb doesn't help me today as noted above.
I'm not getting the OTA I opted into the Beta when the DP5 released but I factory reset my device after it installed do i have to manually flash it or opt out of the Beta?

I'm pretty sure I saw an OTA for DP5 - final from someone. I'd wait a little bit until it all shakes out.
edit: yeah it looks like dp5 to final is only like 45 MB or so. Might just want to wait. This is from the 2 XL forum though.
running fine here, except can't use Android pay Fresh factory image and update to Pie. No, this is the final Android 9

That's pretty cool. I'll try it for a while. Does that get rid of the "clear all" apps tab? Still not seeing Wind down mode anywhere. Any help with that one?
edit: Looks like Wind mode and grayscale is not yet available.
two button navigation, it's an option in Settings. Someone beat me to it ?
Trying to flash the factory image, I get an error of it not being able to find system.img for some reason.
Don't know is it a fearure or a bug
But the brightness slider is acting weirdly
From 0 to 80% it is dim and from 80 to 100% it brighten up the screen
Does anyone else facing this issue ?
I searched thoroughly and couldn't find a thread or a fix. Where do we edit the quick settings in the notification pulldown? Mine is blank, and I don't readily see it in Settings, nor is there an edit function in the pulldown. Suggestions?
You don't have the editing pencil icon on there?

Nah, it's straight blank...
Someone else here solved that by rebooting the phone. Afterward the pencil icon appeared and they were able to set it up. Can't remember which thread at this point.
I've rebooted twice. No success...
Pull down the notifications and then pull down again on the (blank for you currently) quicksettings section and you'll see pencil that lets you edit

Thanks for this. JUST picked up mine and was going crazy since I wasn't seeing the toggles. Very odd that it comes up blank like that out of the box.
Hey I found out the issue here. I had the same thing happen with the T-mobile variant. I did a factory reset and restored my google account and it was still missing. I did a second factory reset and didn't restore and sure enough it showed up. I then did the oneplus restore and nothing changed. I then got the phone unlocked and still no issue. After a restart everything was fine and then I did a google restore. I chose only to restore call logs and messages. The second it was done the quick settings disappeared again. This is clearly an issue with google and this device. Not sure if it's a T-Mobile issue specifically

Ah, thank you, that fixed it for me. Mine was looking just like yours. And when I locked the screen and then pulled down the notifications drawer, a pencil did appear which let me fix it all up.
I think I might know what broke it for me. When I upgraded my OnePlus 5 from OxygenOS 5.1.7 to 9.0.3, I still had jOnePlus Tools [adb/root] by JRoot3D.dev installed, and it was changing how many quick settings tiles are shown after one swipe down (in the single row). I think it was essentially doing this:
Code:
adb shell settings put secure sysui_qqs_count 8
When I used the app to change that number, all my quick settings tiles disappeared. The app has not been updated in a while, so I'm going to keep it off my phone until it's updated for Android Pie
Just as a quick update on this. This is still a problem on the T-Mobile device on 9.0.13 fully stock.
I guess this must then mean that the quick setting cannot be hidden on the lockscreen...

Actually, I think I found a better solution here.
The trick seems to be that on the unlocked version of the shade, the pencil and user switcher icons only show up when you expand the QS panel. However, if you don't have enough icons in the panel to force the need for the additional row (there is a little hint that shows up when you drag an icon that indicates that you need at least 6 icons), then you can't swipe it down, and there no icons or any warning of any sort are shown.
The shade on the lockscreen doesn't appear to enforce that icon minimum, so the pencil and user switcher show up fine (perhaps this is due to the fact that on the lockscreen, the notifications themselves don't live in the shade as they do when the device is unlocked).
It also seems like older OOS versions didn't enforce that icon minimum, so if you only had, say 4 icons (not sure who would do that), then did an upgrade, you would have this strange behavior.
Is there a way to view the notifications on the lock screen without actually having to unlock the phone?
I have the settings enabled in "Show all content" in lock screen.
When an email through Gmail comes in, it shows on lock screen, but when I go back to the lock screen, all I see is a Gmail icon and not the actual message itself.
Edit: I guess I mean to show notification on the "ambient display".....
same here, i tried many things no luck.
same here
any further update on this? im hoping someone could fix/change it some day
same here
Mine shows content but I also do NOT have a lock on my device, I just swipe. This probably doesn't help but just thought I'd throw it out there
Mine shows and I do have a lock set.

But you have to enable the screen taking the phone, isn't right?
I'm interested on the possibility to get notifications on the screen not having to wake up the display. I understand that the notification of missed call i.e. after awhile disappear and the only method to check for it is by taking the phone. I don't have the OP6T yet but I'm considering to buy it but I have some concern about this item.
In the past I had experience with NoLED. It does the job but I recall on Samsung Galaxy S2 time, it was causing some battery draining. I wonder if anyone has tested it on the OP6T.
This app may be pretty close or exactly what your looking for. read through the thread for some root tweaks toy can do to make it even more useful.

I´ve probably found out the solution. Go to Screen -> Ambient display - > new notifications -> enable it. Now you should see notifications when the screen is locked.
Is there a way to unlock the screen with swipe on the ambient display?
Some apps such as Magisk when you click on a module for the description, and contacts when you search for a name show on the lockscreen. This allows anyone picking up your phone to see what you're doing.
I'm curious to know of any other apps do this or if there is a way to prevent it.
Here is one example
It's a bug with the AOD module you're using and is mentioned in that thread.

Would you care to link it? I'm not using an Always On module. Have double tap to wake enabled only.
Happens to me as well, but it shows my home screen under the lockscreen. Happens maybe 25% of the time

That was my mistake. The layout in your screenshot is the typical AOD format. I use single tap, which just wakes up to the One Plus AOD display, the double tap wakes up just like pressing the power button.
The AOD mod uses the traditional AOSP AOD, which looks like what your screenshot is. But that mod has a bug where info is displayed. I've confirmed this while I was running the mod.
For you and others having this bug. Can you give a little info? What rom version are you running, and what launcher are you running?
Running 9.0.6 on T-Mobile, using lawnchair launcher. I can not recreate this. I can only recreate it while running the AOD mod.

I apologize for very little info in the OP, I was driving and didn't want to text too much lol.
Version 9.0.6 global.
Lawnchair launcher.
Only double tap to wake enabled.
Magisk modules: BusyBox, Greenify, iOS emojis, Universal GSM Doze, and YouTube Vanced black.
Those 2 situations are the only time I've been able to duplicate the issue. Never had it show my desktop like another person stated.

My assumption is it might be a bug in OOS then. Cause I've seen this with the AOD mod. The way the mod works is just enabling AOD that OnePlus disabled. The code is there, they just disable it and then add in their own. (The clock view when you pick up the phone or whatever).
The fact it happens with that mod, and it happens with users who are using double tap to wake (which wakes the device to the lock screen). It seems to be a bug with the lock screen.
I would try searching on the OnePlus forums for this bug. If you see a bunch of comments about it, it will at least be known it's an OOS bug and it'll be fixed at some point. Since most of those people will be running stock.
If you care about security, I would try single tap, and see if that resolves it until it's fixed.
To be clear, I'm not using double tap to wake. It happens when I press the power button.
Oops sorry
I can recreate this behavior everytime..
This happens with all apps that use the system share screen, example gallery app...open any picture ...press share icon on the bottom...share menu comes up...lock the device(power button)...press power to come to lockscreen and viola transparent lockscreen...
I am not rooted or unlocked, talking about stock device here 9.0.6...
Guys I think I figured this on out and would love you all to test it and confirm.
I'd been using a wallpaper set through the Google Wallpapers app and have been noticing the issue regularly with Magisk manager, Boost, and Google Home to name a few. After setting a wallpaper directly using an image through my Launcher (op Launcher) I was able to see that the issue was resolved.
Any time I set a wallpaper through backdrops, Google Wallpapers, Resplash, the issue returns.
Let me know what you guys find.

My wallpaper is simple black image through Nova Launcher and I was having this issue occur. It's very sporadic, I haven't found any clear pattern
Cube, see if you can set it through the stock Launcher or even use the Set As function in your gallery and see if you have the same result. I haven't had the problem since changing the way I set Wallpapers. Only crap thing about it is I can't use the pixel live Wallpapers I was using before.
Fix
Go to settings, look up app locker and select the hide all information tab.
