The radio's vary so u will have to flash them n see which one works best for you.
The Bootloader well I wouldn't worry about that as its not going to make a difference
And here's a thread on flashable .Zip's to flash in TWRP but honestly the Bootloader I recommend flashing via Fastboot not by TWRP..

[Q] are the 4.2 and 4.3 bootloaders the same?

The reason I'm asking is because I want to fastboot the entire 4.3 image to my tablet and start clean but I'm afraid that if the bootloaders are different I won't be able to install the custom recoveries, Philz CWM, or CWM touch for example.
Thanks in advance.

No, old one is LJ12, new one is MD03.
I use TWRP 2.5, and it works fine on the new bootloader.

I'm using phipz cwm and it works fine on new boot loader but every time a reboot room it it says ROM wants to flash stock recovery and you have to press prevent flash or no allow flash.

Thanks for the quick reply, I think I'm gonna stick with TWRP for now until CWM gets updated.

I have some questions.

OK so I think I'm getting this phone soon and I have some questions that are new to me. I have a Samsung (LOL I know) but when flashing ROMs it says flash tom gaaps that's it. But for the N4 it says stuff about boot loaders and radios. Are radios the same as modems? And how do you flash a boot loader?

Flashing a bootloader is the same as flashing a rom or gapps. So for the 4.3 update you would flash the rom, gapps, radio and bootloader in recovery

Radios are the same as modems. Handles cell reception, data, sensors and such. A bootloader is what starts the operating system. When a new bootloader and radio come out people will normally make a flashable zip, or you can use fastboot to install either. Installing ROMs is the same as what you mentioned, Flash ROM then gapps.

Anyone having issues flashing new ROM to this Nexus?

Thinking of upgrading soon to the 2013 model and wondering if anyone is having issues with flashing a custom ROM.
No. Flashing ROMs is just as easy as any other nexus device.
Once you have a custom recovery, just download a rom and flash or use GooManager or whatever method you like.

Question on returning to stock

Hello wonderful XDA Peoples. I am planning on returning my Nexus 4 in the near future as part of T-Mobile Jump. I'm currently on a stock ROM; but unlocked with CWM recovery installed.
To return to stock, would I need to fastboot the entire stalk image (via flash all.bat) or would I just need to flash the stock recovery image, then relock the boot loader? Thanks guys! Keep up the absolutely spectacular work.

You could just flash the recovery.img and then re-lock it

on the nexus 4 rom, kernel .... index there is a stock recovery flasher, if you dont wanna use the pc
if you have root you can lock bootloader via an app
or else just via pc.

So, just flash the stock recovery image and then lock it? In that order? Thanks for the reply

New lollipop bootloader twrp flashable?

I'm currently running a rooted kitkat based custom rom (purity). I'll eventually want to run a custom lollipop based rom once the dust settles a bit, but don't want to revert back to stock for the ota, and don't want to manually flash a stock 5.0 rom either.
Since I'll need the new bootloader eventually, is there a twrp flashable file for the new bootloader available which I can flash now in preparation for future 5.0 based roms?
Don't have a decent usable pc handy, so if I could do everything straight from the manta itself that would be great.
(crap, wrong forum, sorry)
I haven't seen one, but if you download the image you should be able to use flashify. I have not tested though, so be careful.

Do you have to update the bootloader from kitkat

I'm looking for a flashable zip too! I had problems using flashify and my Mac doesn't detect my N10 in fastboot mode
