So I turned my phone on yesterday and noticed that my quick settings changed color from grey to maroon. I didn't do anything to cause this and I don't think there's an app that controls quick settings color, I also did change the color mode or simulate colorblindness. I obviously don't want it to be maroon, anyone know what I can do to fix it or why this happened?
Maybe you activated the Power Saving Mode?

Are you running xposed and gravity box? Did you change your wallpaper?
The color changes by automatically picking up a color from your wallpaper. That's the most likely cause.

But my wallpaper changes daily and it remains maroon. Right now my wall paper is like an ocean theme and its still maroon.
I assume your wallpaper changes automatically. The color of the quick settings and launcher only changes when you manually change the wallpaper via the Mifavour launcher. I think using any other launcher or the wallpaper changing automatically does not change the color. Try changing the wallpaper through the MiFavor launcher settings and you'll be able to change the color of the quick settings. I've attached some samples too.

Is it possible to get it black? Would save some battery
Sent from my ZTE A2017G using XDA Labs
No it doesn't, just gives you a gray theme if the wallpaper you select is fully black. Interesting thing I realized was that somehow the launcher measures the colors in the wallpaper and picks the one with the highest proportion, so if your wallpaper is multicolored, which will most likely be the case, the color most common will be picked and not a random one.
I use this app to get true black notification shade:

It also allows you to add and remove tiles.

How do I set the lockscreen wallpaper on OOS Beta? I use Muzei and it changes the desktop wallpaper, but not the lockscreen wallpaper. There used to be an option to set the lockscreen wallpaper to the desktop wallpaper.
Much thanks!
Try this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.alicantedevelopers.lockscreenchangercm13 maybe this works.
But your phone has to be rooted.
On the stock oos beta, just go on the [wallpaper / widget / settings] (by touching the drawer on a blank 2 sec), and you'll have the option to change the wallpaper, just swipe to the right, and you will have an option for the lockscreen. (don't forget to click on save)
I would love to know this as well

Well, that's actually not the problem. The actual problem is, that there is no option for the lockscreen to use the same wallpaper that is used on the homescreen. It's also not possible to choose Muzei as wallpaper source for the lockscreen, which really bothers me, and as I guess, the op too.

I'm also using Muzei and facing the same problem...
I tried creating a symlink for /data/system/users/0/keyguard_wallpaper pointing to /data/system/users/0/wallpaper, didn't solve the problem. I also tried deleting the file, didn't help.

First off I'm using Apex launcher( not sure if it matters). I Press on a any blank part of the screen in the menu prompt choose Wallpaper, then on pick image scroll over to wallpapers. there you can set your Home screen and your Lock screen saving each one individually.

Yes, but here we are talking about having both the lock screen wallpaper and home wallpaper in sync. So for example using Muzei, which automatically switches periodically the Home screen wallpaper, it also changes the lock screen wallpaper so you have the same in both places.

Hey folks,
looking for a method to modify my settings to have a dark background (HEX; FF212121) with a white font.
Using Nova launcher and xposed I've been able to change most other things, but going from dark into a blinding white is such a pain.
Can anyone confirm if this is even possible? Maybe even steps on how to do so?
Many thanks chicos

Install Xposed nd use the module Holo Themer. It'll change for every app not just settings.
Hello everyone. I seem to have a bit of a problem regarding live wallpapers with the new 7.0 Nougat update. I am currently using the Galaxy Pack app from Play Store as my live wallpaper and I was using it on both my home screen and lock screen. Now here's the problem, after the update I tested out some stuff (including changing the wallpapers) and now I cannot put the live wallpaper back on the lock screen. On the home screen it works fine. When I try to select a static picture as my wallpaper, after I select it, it asks me (Do you want this on your home screen, lock screen, or both?), but when I select the Galaxy Pack wallpaper it just sends me on the app's menu where I click set wallpaper and only the home screen one applies. I have tried different launchers including Nova launcher (The one I currently use) and Google Now Launcher, but nothing lets me put the Galaxy Pack LW as a lock screen wallpaper. Please help.
Also on a side note, does anyone know how to set the settings, quick settings tab, etc. on dark(black) theme? I hate all the white of it. Is it possible to do this at all? (without rooting)
Just downloaded planety of live wallpapers. None of them is working on the lockscreen, nothing really can be done here. But changing theme to any other colour is simple, just open the Samsung themes app and set the dark one.

All right. Thank you for responding. I hope they fix the live wallpaper problem soon. And many thanks for the dark theme. Cheers.
Anyone able to get substratium to work on sd note 9?
I am just trying to theme the stock messaging app so that the text box will be black. Is there a stand alone overlay apk that can do the same?
Textra is not an option since I loose some functionality of my gear s2.
Edit: I forgot to run the andromedia pc plugin to get it going. Everything is working now.
I have Subs working on my Vzw n9.
I have changed my Nav bars, fonts and a few apps so far.

interesting. I keep getting verification errors on substratium.
Systemui tuner + good lock 2018 has taken care of everything except the messages app.
Does your phone have to be unlocked to use it? I got mine from sprint I want to change the navi bar color so bad

Systemui tuner in playstore has that built in. No root required but you do need to run a couple of adb commands.
Is not working for me either. Note 9 on VZW. how did you get it to work?

I did and didn't work the first time. However I figured it out. I used smart switch to restore from my note 8 and Andromeda was working funny. Uninstall and reinstall fixed the problem.
Thank you
Only some things are working for me. The settings and phone apps aren't. It colours them if i select android 8.1 pixel or nexus but not the samsung option. Using swift black btw
And go To développer settings To enable USB debug mode.
Pitchblack Samsung is running on my note 9 using subsrtatum alone. A bit of a pain because Android permissions ask permission to install per overlay, but working 100% here without Andromeda. I have the US Xfinity Mobile Note 9.

So settings overlays using Samsung swift doesn't work. Doesn't it crash if you use another phone type?

Settings overlay just wouldn't work no matter what settings or device type I tried. I did however get the UI and some apps themed.
I didn't really see a big difference compared to the samsung theme i'm using right now + ADB navbar colour change so i stuck with that. Haven't decided on an icon pack yet.
Attached some screenshots.

Looks alright actually. So, you're using a standard Samsung theme with adb navbar mod or are you using parts of swift substratum and adb navbar mod?
I'm currently using swift dark, the bits that work on the note 9, with wings substratum to shade out slightly my black navbar icons and slightly reduce the ( grey color ) of my status bar icons. Oh, and also system ui tuner was used for my black navbar. So all in all , system ui tuner, swift and wings substratum used here.

I dropped substratum all together. I'm now using:
- Good Lock 2018 for notification drop down and notification shade
- MINU Black_Edition V2 Samsung theme for the overall black skin
- ADB Navbar Colour Change
- System UI tuner for immersive mode toggle
Still deciding on icons though..

Unfortunately not. I mostly use it to ensure it's black with my Gboard when typing since I use immersive mode. Apps like Chrome that apply a colour overlay will override ADB.
I assume substratum is the only way from small testing.. Even overlay apps like "Navbar Apps" don't keep everything black unfortuntely.

Try first setting to dark theme and then set a dark wallpaper. Once it works set any wallpaper you like.

It's not working for quick settings
Do you have a live wallpaper enabled? If so, you need to disable it in order to use dark theme on stock android Pie. It's a known issue and there seems to be no fix for that, at least for now :/

I tried dark mode on a different device and it changed also the newsfeed and the settings. Isn't it how it is supposed to work?
