Dear fellows,
This is a very unpleasant situation. I have flashed the Marshmallow ROM of artas182x:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...shmallow-note-3-t3349306/page109#post69202143
Everything is PERFECT, even FDE is working! But when I connect the phone to my laptop,
I can only see the Internal memory, but I can NOT see my SD card, hence I can't copy any
files to it directly. I need to copy to the Internal memory and then move the files on the
phone, which is a quite annoying 2-step process.
I have decided to post a new thread for this, because Artas is not replying to my posts
and not even to a PM which I sent him.
PLEASE help me, as this is the only ROM which has encryption working. I have tried
Slim ROM, Phronesis, DarkLord and also VisionX (Lollipop) and none of them has
encryption working, it always fails with something I'm sooooo frustrated
Many many thanks in advance!
i would install the Samsung USB drivers .
Format the sd card .

Hello and thanks for your reply, but I am not sure, that this will solve my problems, because...
With all the ROMs - Slim, Darklord, Phronesis - when I connect the phone to the laptop,
in Windows Explorer I can see Internal Storage and next to it - SD card.
Just with the ROM of Artas - when I connect it to the laptop, I only see Internal Storage.
Isn't there some setting for this, some file that I can edit or (re)move or I don't know, just
something. How it can be that with EVERY ROM I tried, the SD card is seen on the PC,
just not with the ROM of Artas. Thank you.
P. S.: Or perhaps there is a way to take the drivers/modules responsible for SD card from
another ROM and put it in Artas' ROM ?
Your using Marshmallow, are you using your SDcard as portable or integrated storage? if you have formatted the SD as internal storage it will now be an encrypted partition only accessible by the phone itself. Connecting to desktop will only show the internal data storage. If you want direct access to SD card, format it as portable... if still not working reboot to TWRP Recovery, enable MTP and mount SD storage along with system partition, sd storage should be executable on the desktop. You can also decrypt the Marshmallow SD internal storage but its another story.
Hello jordanpa and many thanks for replying to my problem!
I should have written about this as well - I did NOT format the card as internal storage.
I am using it as emergency rescue - keeping a copy of the Slim ROM and TWRP there,
because several times it happened that the Internal storage got completely wiped and
I needed to have something to flash in order to get the phone running.
So, this is not the cause of the problem, unfortunately... Please suggest something else.
P. S.: Could that be caused by a virus/malware ??? What can I do, in order to rule out this possibility ?

Darklord and phronesis 5.1.1?.
You need to format it first time to be used on 6.0.1.

If you are regularly flashing custom ROM's and wiping system partition etc you can pretty much rule out malware or virus, especially when diagnosing function issues like reading partitions. The most vulnerable devices are those running on the same stock firmware with no anti-virus and outdated security patches.
Check the permissions for each partition, It will need to be readable for not just the phone.

Nope, I was trying Darklord and Phronesis based on Marshmallow. I have read somewhere, that encryption has been implemented much better and more secure on Marshmallow. On Lollipop I only tried VisionX which was working very well, but again it failed to encrypt my device.
About the malware/virus - this is another problem that I have on another phone. Maybe I wrote this by mistake in this thread...
In Device manager I see 2 unknown devices:
CDC Serial
SAMSUNG_Android
I tried the buttons update driver - Windows didn't find nothing.
Then I tried to uninstall the driver and replug the phone - after a while it gave me:
The driver software was not successfully installed
What can be done, please advise on how this can be solved ? Thanks!

Yep, manual, click on the button Have disk, etc. But it's necessary to have (as far as I remember correctly) an .inf file and 1 or more .dll files. Where do I get those ones from ?
Thank you!

???? it wasn't me that answered your problem! check the thread properley!
nono i ment if u entered that cmd itd mount ur sdcard
Re
Write which os do you use than we can continue....
I experimented this when i has a 190mb partition system, now that my partition system is 200mb i've installed again and it recognized my sd card without 'cmd mounting', can be that 200 or 210mb partition system or more is best for a fully working. Can you try it..
Re Nope
Well maybe, but i don't think that's problem....????maybe something with mountpoint.....
ok i don't know if it's a mount problem i've got here as i'm a noob i don't know where to start with that! let me tell you my problem in more detail....
i'm running win7 ultimate sp1 os on my laptop, i have the gt540 installed with ics beta 4 with wifi fix and app fix too, wifi works after wifi fix is installed by recovery, market works too, now when i plug the usb cable into my phone i get the sounds that it is recognized by my laptop and i get usb mass storage disabled so click on the android and it says now enabled but no sound happens from my laptop to say it's recognized it and in "My Computer" there is no storage appearing that's problem 1! problem 2 is that my sd card (which worked perfectly well in Swiftdroid)
is now saying "Blank SD card" also "SD card is blank or has unsupported file system" when i click on the message it then prompts me to "Format SD card" which i don't want to do! are these two problems linked? if so what is the best way to rectify it? please keep it simple and explain fully as much as you can! thank you in advance!
I've just backed up my sd card to my laptop and formatted it using "SD Formatter" as the inbuilt formatter on ICS doesn't work for me, i also did a native swap using bs828 tutorial using his recommended settings for it in hope that this would work! but i'm still getting no recognition in "My Computer" and it's saying "blank sd card" still!!!! i'm at a loss i know the card is ok because i've gone back to swiftdroid thru a nandroid back up in recovery several times and that works!
First I want to thank dzo for his amazing work. Thanks to him, we now have an almost fully functional ICS port!
Now, to get to the point... I upgraded from dzo's v.1.1 to v1.2 ICS yesterday. The ROM is very nice and smooth, and it seems like everything is functioning like it should. BUT, after my first reboot after flashing v1.2, I got the message about corrupt sdcard. So I rebooted into recovery, then rebooted to recovery through recovery again P), and then rebooted normal. The message was still there, so I unplugged the sdcard from my phone and plugged it into my computer through a cardreader. The PC said I had to format it before use, so that's what I tried.. the format-window hung up, and stood still on 0% for about an hour. I got kinda bored of waiting and unplugged the sdcard, then put it back into my phone. Now my phone says something like: "blank sdcard or has an unsupported filesystem etc.). I've tried several sdcard formatting programs, but nothing seems to work :S Now my PC doesn't even recognize my sdcard as an sdcard anymore, but as an empty disk or something.
The worst part is that I actually bought my sdcard yesterday, the same day as got corrupted/blank..
any tips would be appreciated!
edit: My sdcard is a SanDisk Class 4 16GB
Hi,
I have the same sdcard and in most cases my U8800 Pro does not mount correctly this microsd. I don't know if this is a kernel problem or a rom problem.
Anyway I advice you to format your sdcard with a specific format-tool, please download it here:
https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_3/sdfmt3_1.zip
This is a free software developed by Panasonic (if I'm not wrong).
This tool helped me with my sdcard BUT I have to say that Huawei U8800 is a little buggy for the sdcard mount.

Thanks for your reply! Actually I have allready tried ths program. I installed, and opened it. Then I connected the sdcard to the PC, but the program said it couldn't recognize it... So just to be sure it wasn't the program, I tried to connect another sdcard, and that one was recognized. Weird stuff...
Maybe the card is just broken?
This happened to me too. There is nothing you can do, the sd card is broken. Reformatting is impossible, since no reader will recognize the card. You'll just have to buy a new card or get it replaced via warranty.
I have the exact same problem olfyboy, I think the card is ruined
That sucks! :/
well.. time to use my good old 2gb then..
hello guys
plug you sd card in your mobile go in recovery and check did it show your sd card there if not go in advance option reboot in recovery again...
i hope this time you see your sd card
if it this method not work then put ur sd card in some Symbian phone (Nokia, sony ericsson) in symbian phone you are able to format
i hope this method work for you best of luck
maybe a software named Usboot can help you.
Pls try aurora 1.4. Dzo solved sdcard problem
Thanks for your replies guys!
Sadly I think my sdcard is completely broken. No device is able to recognize it, and those who can, says that it's completely blank or does not have a supported file-system.

I'm still in the same position too, I've tried all the suggestions here.
I can read files but can't write or format.
Read speed is VERY slow (a few bytes per second)
I can't even read my files. I tried my sdcard with 2 different pcs. And none of them recognize it. I think its ruined.
Any news? Is there anyone with solution? :/

No.. our sdcards are probably completely broken. Nothing to do with it :/ The only thing you can do about it, is really just to buy a new one.
I, myself, have ended up using an old 2gb sdcard..
I don't get why is happens or why it only happens to us. Any ideas what caused it? I don't care sd-card but I really want my images back in that card. =)

what is the OS on your PC?
maybe I can help you. first of all you have to install a recovery software on your PC ( I prefer "Recover My Files") and extract your photos from SD to your PC.
then if you ask me I will tell you how to format your SD and use it again.
Idk is it a same situation but 2 weeks ago my sd went broke. Ics was showing its empty which i was sure it wasnt. First i tried it with my old phone but no luck. I can connect it to my comp (both win and ubuntu) via sd card reader and no luck. Then i tried fix permissions in cwm and then it recognized, all my old files were there.
I know it doesnt make any sense but if you guys didnt try this just give it a luck.
G luck.

Hello guys,
I have a Galaxy S5 G900T running the AllianceRom 3.1 made for G900F. I use an external SD Card SanDisk 16GB and since yesterday I never had a problem.
So, now I'm experiencing this error: "SD Card blank or has unsupported filesystem" on Notification Panel. When I click on it, android asks me if I want to format the card, I click OK, and at the end the same problem occurs.
Things I already tried to do:
1) I tested the SD Card into another Galaxy S5 and it's running OK without the problem;
2) I formatted the SD card (full format) on a windows computer. Windows recognizes it, and it's running OK;
3) I checked the file vold.fstab on /etc folder and it has the same content as another Galaxy S5 that is running OK the SD card;
4) I re-flashed the AllianceRom 3.1;
[EDIT 1]
5) Tried to wipe the SD Card using TWRP Recovery (as image 1 attached)
6) Tried to partitioning using TWRP Recovery (as image 2 attached)
[EDIT 2]
7) I bought another SD Card, a Samsung 64GB and when I insert it on device I don't get this error, but also not able to mount, it doesn't even recognizes the SD card.
p.s. I searched a lot on XDA, even on Google, and those was the possible solutions I've found, but didn't work for me.
Does someone experienced this problem and was able to fix?
Does anyone knows another alternative that could work?
Thanks in advance

Have you tried another SD card in your phone? EDIT: Nevermind this bit
When you plug the SD card into your handset (do it while it's off) Does the SD Storage show anything?
You could try formatting it in another handset if you have the chance then try plugging it in.
Are you using stock Sammy firmware? Or have you installed a custom kernel? Could be one of those playing havoc with your device if so, back up and revert to stock if you can, retest the SD in there.
Test to see if you can retrieve data from the SD card, i've found that although SD cards show up in windows, when I attempt to copy data to the PC it fails, when I say fail I mean it stops progressing and doesn't copy, particular files appear corrupt.
You could also do a chkdsk /f /r via windows on the SD card, or even a general error check.
chances are one of these things will be the culprit, if none and it's still working in another phone and other cards are working in your device then i'm stumped.
Good luck
I would try philz recovery, i had all kinds of problems with twrp on my note 3 and s5 until switching. Not knocking twrp this is just my experience

I formatted my device right now and installed Samsung stock firmware with stock kernel. I also tried to get back to stock recovery, then installed CWM and TWRP, but the same problem
I'm starting to think this is a hardware problem, because I tried everything and nothing happened.

Quite an odd one that, i'm a little stumped.
did you try error checking on windows? OR even a format in a different handset? OR a different card in your phone to see if to see if it reads?
On the other hand if the phone isn't that old, return it, 28 day swap should be good if you're in time, otherwise it's back to sammy.

Same here. My phone already went in for repair for this and the front camera ring falling issue. Mine was preordered and shipped at launch. It worked a few weeks and now has stopped again. Simply won't recognize any SD cards. I tried an old 2GB, a Kingston 16GB, a Lexar 32GB from my GoPro, and a Sandisk 64GB. All cards work elsewhere, but my S5 never indicates anything is inserted. This is my first Samsung, and it might be my last. I never experienced issues like this on an HTC.
Any progress here? I just got a sweet 64g card Samsung because my others have worked well BUT...
S5 Blank SD card of death. ....

You can try this.
Please ensure to make a backup of your boot and system partition with twrp before installing.
Install the zip below with twrp then reboot.
Go to settings>storage then tap the sdcard.
You should see the adoptable storage options.

So there is no information why on the stock version the mentioned commands do not work accordingly?
My phone actually needs to stay stock hence no option for the zip this time.

It was removed from the framework, so unless it's replaced it's not going to work.

You can try this.
Please ensure to make a backup of your boot and system partition with twrp before installing.
Install the zip below with twrp then reboot.
Go to settings>storage then tap the sdcard.
You should see the adoptable storage options.

Of course it wipes your sd card, that's what it's meant to do.
I don't understand the issue? [emoji53]
It doesn't give option for adoptable storage.... Only options are unmount or format.. Sorry for any confusion

Did you tap the micro sdcard after installing the patch?
Can you backup your patched boot.img with TWRP then post it up so I can check it?

Yes i did..... I will try to get you that... Honestly haven't never done that but will surely try
i got it to work...yes the zip is awesome and works great...but after install i hit storage/sd/format, after format was finished in notification it said new sd card detected, set up...i hit setup and there was the option for portable or internal storage so again thank you for the great work.......now i just need to figure out why it says device storage is 69 GB used out of 128 when my card is 64 and my phone is 16 and try to also figure out how to make sd the default for download......so again THANK YOU for this zip

Don't worry about the combined incorrect storage capacity. It seems to common on all Samsung devices. Just pay attention to the individual storage capacity of internal and external which will be correct.
To make sure you are using the external Sdcard as default location tap the sd card and choose migrate data.
Hi ashyx,
I think I went through all the required steps:
- installed TWRP on my SM-A510F
- backed up system+boot partitions
- and finally installed the "adoptable_storage_enabler_ashyx_13916.zip" ZIP through TWRP.
However, once I rebooted, contrary to popeye331, I did NOT have any more options after I went to "Settings > Storage > SDCard" . Only "Format" and "Unmount" were shown, and after I chose "Format" it only offered me to format it as portable storage. After that was completed, I did NOT have a "New SD Card detected" notification as reported by popeye331.
Have I missed sopmething? Was I supposed to root my device by installing SuperSU via TWRP with your custom "UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.65-20151226141550.zip" file??
I hope you can help me as this is driving me nuts ... I wish I bought the HTC One A9 instead of the Galaxy A5 2016 now, I didn't know Samsung was the "Apple" equivalent in the Android ecosystem...
Thanks in advance,
Laurent
PROBLEM SOLVED !! Needed to disable Zip signature verification in TWRP !!
Ok, my bad, problem identified and solved !!!
I did not actually pay enough attention to the log messages during installation of the "adoptable_storage_enabler_ashyx_13916.zip" file through TWRP...
It did display an error message in red stating "Zip signature verification failed", and aborted installation tight after that, but somehow I missed it, rebooted thinking installation had succeeded, and didn't understand why it didn't work...
I only realised my mistake while going through the install procedure a second time. When I noticed the error message I thought at first the Zip might be corrupted, then I Googled the error message and I got the explanation:
Before installing this Zip file, you MUST TURN OFF the "Zip verification" option in TWRP !!!
Once I did that and attempted the installation again, the process went smoothly and succeeded, and after reboot I proceeded exactly as popeye331 explained, the process being actually a bit strange:
You must first format the SD card, but when you first format it you are only presented with the option to format it as portable storage.
HOWEVER, ONCE the formatting has gone through, you do indeed see a notification about a new SD Card being detected, and if you open this notification you are prompted to format the SD card either as portable storage or as internal storage... SO you just have to opt for the latter, and after the card is configured as internal storage it will move some application data onto it for you.... Once this is done it is strongly advisable to reboot, because you might still see the external SD card if your phone is plugged in throuh USB... After you reboot, you will only see one unified storage labelled "Phone" (although you still see the SD card and internal storage as separated entities in Settings > Storage on the device).
Anyway, THANK YOU SO MUCH ashyx for your excellent work, I'm going to make a little donation to you right away to express my gratitude and thank you for all your efforts !!! :good:
Cheers,
Laurent

Anyone having issue with internal storage? It is unable to detect internal storage . I'm getting this error in file manager
" File and folder was not found"
I would be great if anyone knows the solution.

No. First I inserted sd card but unfortunately it was corrupted so I had to remove it. Since phone wasn't accepting the SD card it never gave me option to set it as internal or portable storage. Internal was unavailable from the beginning itself however internal storage is accessible in Stock, beta 5 firmware . I also tried to re flash but no success.

Format SD Card from PC. then use it again.
I recommended use a faster (XC or HC) SD Card.(Class 10) for better performance.
While flashing it takes long time why so?

Bcoz.... Flashing a ROM means install a new OS on the system(device). It format partitions and install whole OS on it.
Also boot time takes longer than usually for first time.
I am in this same screen for more then 10min right now I m n blissrom 6.0

Hi,
I faced the same problem as you.
The solution that worked for me is...
You can set up the device's internal in settings-->Storage and USB
For the Card do this...
Go to the developers options and enable root access and local terminal.
Open the terminal app and type
su
Click to collapse
and hit enter. Allow root access.
Type
sm list-disks
Click to collapse
You should see the disk's name i.e. SD card. If you don't see it. Format your card as FAT32 from PC first and then try.
Now type
sm set-force-adoptable true
Click to collapse
Wait for it... Now there should be a card ready to be set up in the notification bar.
