Sorry if I post in wrong place.
Today, my wife broke my beloved 1+1. I needed an emergency phone and bought g4.
I've flashed twrp, rooted the phone... Only to find out that there not seem to be any custom roms for the g4.
Is there any reason why? Are there any roms on the way?
Or maybe some already exist?

There are some in the G4 Plus Roms, Kernels & Recoveries Forum.

I apologize if this is somewhere where I haven't been able to find it. Every answered question seems to be about root only and with the fiasco going on in the Verizon Galaxy S4 threads where root is possible, but still no recovery and custom ROMS, I want to make sure of this.
If I buy a brand new Verizon LG G2 right now and it is delivered to my hands with the newest OTA already on it, will I still be able to not just root, but also install a recovery and custom ROM like Cyanogenmod?
If it is questionable, I'm giving up on Verizon and going to AT&T where I can get a Nexus 5. I'm coming from a Nexus 4 running CM and tried a VZ Galaxy S4 but it came with the MJ7 ROM already on it and there is nothing that can be done about it at the moment so I sent it back and am thinking about the LG G2 and will decide based on the answers I get in this thread.
Yes, even with the newest OTA.

I have not been able to root. just bought the phone yesterday. been flashing for years so don't think im doing anything wrong. but every phone is different sometimes.
I got mine about a week ago, and was able to root no problem. If you do have issues, you can always download the original KDZ or TOT file and flash it onto your G2, then root on that since it's an older version.
Sent from CAMACHO, my Verizon G2 (VS980) running PAC ROM.

you can use the ioroot 12 software in the link posted above me. I think the main OP says ioroot 10, but version 12 can be found closer to the end of the thread.
Hello,
Just so you know my "knowledge" Level on rooting, flashing etc.
Started with htc evo, Then a GS3, and suscessfully rooted and flashed multiple roms and packages to both those phones.
This lg g2 is somewhat confusing me. Heres what ive done so far, Just trying to make sure i wont brick my device when i go to flash a custom rom.
So far i have, Ran the ioroot .bat and rooted the phone, Used FreeGee to Put TWRP on it and have suscessfully backed up my Current Stock OS.
Ive read a bit about Loki? Do i need to do anything else to be ready to flash a custom rom. "Noob" question i know, but this is my only phone. Cant afford to have a nice 1080P paperweight lol

If you have twrp up and running, you're good to flash.

Ah just figured it out. Trial and error, forgot to flash an aosp kernel, used furnace and got it working Just wanted some reassurance haha :good:
I recently bought a LG G4c. Well, after testing it for about a week, i decided to root it.
I succeeded; KingRoot did its job. But now i'm looking for Custom ROMs and stuff, Kernels... but i can not find anything. Are there any Custom ROMs and Custom Kernels or am i blind? Well, i already found "Flash Stock ROM" and "root LG G4c", but honestly, that's all.
Please help
Man I am also searching better software for this awful phone, it is not working properly, my S3 was times better with cynogenmod than this piece of ****!!! Never buy lite version of phones done by LG - completely bull****. I dont even understand why they brought this cake on the market as is is really really lagging and bad. I have a 64 gb sd card in it, 30 are free, 350 are free on the system flash and this piece of **** tells me i have not enough space for an sms? ARE U KIDDING ME?!!!

Well, if it's rooted I recommend you to get Link2SD (Plus), so you can move Apps fully to your SD Card! (; But i wonder...honestly...why there are not any Custom ROMs.

I finished compiling LineageOS 14.1 for LG-G4c:

Hello. I am new to the V20 but not to Android nor XDA. I live in Australia and I'm looking at using custom roms. I wanted to know the limitations to this model. Can I flash other variant roms (T-Mobile/Verizon/Sprint/etc/etc) on the US996 model and then just flash the suitable kernel and modem for my device, or is it more complicated than that? - I ask this coming recently from Samsung Note series where doing what I said is generally possible.
I am also looking at potentially bringing a new ROM to this device as I have previously compiled AOSP roms for Samsung devices and looking to try something new.
Thanks guys

pretty sure you can only flash us996 roms and theres like one out there, Weta. I flashed it and it was nice but I ended up just going back to the stock LG rooted rom. there's really nothing out there for the 996 which sucks bc i bought it since its unlocked and figured it would have most development... clearly I was wrong! lol

Maybe just not enough people have the phone or want to do anything with it.
I think most stylo 2 plus owners moved to the 3 so there well be no point in spending months working on a rom that no one will use...
