Can someone help explain why I'm seeing so much battery use by Wi-Fi?
I've had it off all day. Even the Wi-Fi location settings are turned off.
Just seems really odd to me.

There's a bug (please report to Moto) with WiFi. If you turn on WiFi, phone did not connect to any AP and then you turn off WiFi. WiFi will remain on, keeps draining battery and as you can see, show up in battery stats.

So here are my stats for first day of use. It's not very impressive to me. Tomorrow I will turn off radios and use them as needed plus limit sync.
1. Drained battery last night
2. Let it charge with phone off
3. This morning turned on: wifi, Bluetooth, gps, sync, and auto bright

I'm starting to second guess my self here and thinking I've been reading the battery stats all wrong this whole time. The WiFi bar is consistently full and blue when my WiFi is off. Does this mean my WiFi is always on?

There's a setting for that.
Yes it is. Go to the wifi settings and change "Scanning always available"
I have noticed the GSAM reports wifi and phone radio very strangely. It seems to report very high phone radio use and then immediately after turning on wifi, the percentages drop significantly and then will revert back when wifi is turned off. See the screenshots below taken seconds apart:

Is this just being reported wrong and if so, how do I fix it?

Same problem here.

I've noticed that in battery graph wifi appears as on mostly all the time. But actually it was disabled. I had also location turned off with its imprinted accuracy also off. Is this normal?

Have same problem and i think that is not normal.
My wifi keeps automatically turning even with all the wifi settings turned off. This started after I upgrade to 9.0.7.
Fwiw I am using an unlocked 1+6t on Verizon not rooted.
Anyone else experiencing this? Is there a fix?
