Hello, I'm new here.
I have a problem.
I forgot the PIN lock of my SM-G360F LTE (with Android 4.4.4), and I would like to keep all my files & documents inside it.
I don't have USB Debug enabled and I don't have a Samsung Account, so there's no easy way I can connect the phone to a computer.
What can I do to save my datas?
I've already tried flashing a Custom Recovery with Odin, but I haven't found a compatible one.
Please, give me an advice on what I should do.
Not sure if this will work for your version but it can't hurt to try. It worked for my stock unrooted SM-G360T1

It doesn't work (or I'm missing something) just because I can't unlock my screen lock to install the APK.
If I'm missing something, please tell me.
What I'm looking for is a way to enable USB Debug mode without unlocking the screen (something like a Custom Recovery mode).
Read the entire post including he comments cuz that link I posted is a step by step guide to unlocking the phone. If the phone has not been factory reset yet then do that first so it causes the phone to go to the Google email verification page then follow the in the link step by step and you will have the phone unlocked. What you are doing with this guide is making a custom path to the settings menu for the phone enabling you to do a factory reset from the backup/reset setting. By doing so you will remove the link to any and all accounts that have been uses on the phone this making the device start just as it would had you bought it from the store and was doing the initial setup. Let me know if you get stick anywhere or need help

But if I factory reset my phone, I will lose all my data, which I don't want to. Or via this "Backup/Reset" setting am I keeping my data?
Sorry for all this questions, but I'm pretty confused...
You will lose your data as this is the master factory reset but you can back up everything while in this menu to your Google account. After you factory reset go through the initial setup and come back to this menu and restore from your Google account
Can I backup my photos, music, documents etc. on my Google account? And how do I do it before resetting the phone?

Check out this guide here on lifehacker...
https://lifehacker.com/5976036/simp...droid-phone-from-the-desktop-no-root-required
Works great and doesn't require root to get it done. I know it is a lil different from what I mentioned earlier but I totally spaced this method until earlier today. Hope this helps you.
Man, my main problem is I can't enable USB debugging, having the screen locked! So I can't use any ADB method.
As far as I know there is no other way to backup your data without using adb methods without a custom recovery. Have you tried flashing twrp for your device and doing a full nandroid that way? I know that twrp has a compatible version for your device. Just search the forums here for you specific device model and flash using Odin 3.10
Here is the link to the twrp website go here to make sure you model is supported then download the tar.md5 file for tour device and flash using odin. Make sure to Uninstaller lies from your pc to avoid any issues with odin
http://twrp.me/
I had already tried flashing twrp, but when I tried to boot in recovery I did get a Bootloop and the "Recovery is not seandroid enforced" error.

Are you using the hardware keys to boot to recovery (volume up+home+Power buttons)? If you try to boot to recovery from any other method it will cause a recovery loop. It's a known issue with all variants of this divice. It's gonna show the "Recovery is not seandroid enforcing" but it will go into recovery.
Of course, I'm using Home+VolUp+Power.
Im out of ideas outside of trying to flash twrp again through Odin

You can just try reflashing the stock firmware for your region in the AP slot of Odin from here.
http://sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-G360F/
It should keep all your data while it resets everything else like new.

Yes. In fact, if you've tripped factory reset protection (FRP), it is the only way to fix it. Here's an example of where this worked for someone else. Read my comment here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=65016084
Then also read the response that follows. Use the correct firmware for your device though at the link i gave above.

I understand that that guide has helped people and that's a good thing for sure. It's just that it's really the absolute most difficult way to fix a device that's under an FRP lock, as it's many steps rather than just the one step of flashing the stock firmware.

Then after when I got a rom to sort of work with twrp recovery I switched thinking that was the problem. After resetting instead that one some how broke adaway and adfree there stuck in a loop and I can't call out that is what happens when I use twrp and I can't flash roms I even checked if the files were broken and they weren't. what recovery works or what is my phone doing with this rom or recovery ?

You didn't give us nearly enough details to know why you are having problems. Lots of people use TWRP without problems and TWRP can certainly install custom ROMs. To have any idea why you are having difficulties, you'd have to give us a detailed, step by step description of what you did with your phone and the error messages that you received.
.
Ok I'm not sure what details to give you I got my phone on I used a rooting process off the unlocker.com for my phone and it worked but my recover doesn't work no mater witch one I use i have s5 g900f for t mobile I'm not sure if I should just try re-rooting my phone maybe? Also the error I'm getting for installing anything is just abort and it can't install because it can't open? and I know the files are not broken tried downloading from computer and phone and saving to my card and the phone. What else do you need me to provide? I'm using the alliance rom that isn't working right because of what is going on with my phone. I can't go back cuz my backups don't work because my recovery isn't working no matter what I use because it will always not complete the restore in either.
I went to get a error message now and now I just get a blank screen in recovery so it's frozen and I can't bring up anything just the name of any rom I try to flash.

Well we can't see your phone. And obviously there is no way to know what is going on if we can see it and you don't describe what you see in detail. For instance you say that you had an error message. But you don't paste the verbatim message here. Don't you think that message might be useful, if not critical.
For effective troubleshooting, you should post a detailed description of what you did, step by step and what was on screen. But I already said that in my last post and you disregarded the suggestion. I'm sure that others will guess at solutions for you. But efficient troubleshooting isn't possible without information.
.
1 If I told you I couldn't post the error message which I did because the recovery screen is blank what do you want me to post? I mean there is nothing on the screen to post there is nothing there because it froze it does not say open or anything there is nothing there unless you want to see a blank background. 2 If you mean what I used to root it would be CF root. Other then that I tried philz and twrp both have the same blank screen when you try to open a zip to install. would you like a black screen for twrp or a or blank purple and pink screen for philz with no text ? I posted that I went for an error message but the screen is blank and I can't make anything happen now. I can't give something when nothing is currently there. I'm just going to flash stock and unroot then root and see if that fixes my problem.
My dad gave me his Nexus 4 to look at the other day because his phone is running slow and using up power very quick . I saw it has been installed couple of suspicious apps like gaining root permission, mobile assistant etc, can't remember the names cause I did a factory reset immediately (already backup the data). Ok it should be clean but then I saw a update notification (it's still on 4.4.3) so go upgrade. The phone reboot into upgrading interface, but after a while it showed 'Error' with a dead robot. I can restart the phone and it's sill in 4.4.3 and ok to use but just can't upgrade. I am thinking those apps must have done something otherwise the phone should be good to upgrade after a factory reset. I am thinking some app may have started a upgrade but somehow never finished (not sure, just my feeling). BTW, my dad knows nothing regarding these apps, they were probably installed by my nephew when he was visiting my parents. Any idea?
If you've done a factory reset you might as well go one step further and unlock the bootloader and flash the 5.0.1 factory image and be done with it

I know I can go down that route (boot loader, root, customer image etc), but I am couple of years from doing that last time. So just want some really simple approach if possible. Something like boot into upgrade menu, then clear some cache etc or check some settings etc (I am just thinking based on my faint memory of previous experience). Of course if there is no such thing, then I will do as recommended. Thanks.
BTW, I did the factory reset from settings when the phone is operating not some recovery tool.
Flashing a factory image is the easiest thing to do...
1. Unlock the bootloader - http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/general/nexus-4-guide-unlock-bootloader-root-t2266654

In the first step, in the Prerequisites -> 7. Fastboot binary (Put the file in <sdk_directory>/platform-tools)
The file appears to contain virus/trojan?

flashed new rom
Followed the link and finally flashed latest rom, fantastic! Thanks. I found the mskip’s toolkit alone is good enough for all the stuff (unlock bootloader, customer recovery, root, install and flash rom). It's much easier than I expected.
The reason I didn't link to toolkits is you're not learning anything by using them. If it goes went wrong, how would you have fixed it?
Better to learn it all now and then you have the knowledge
I need help!
I tried to put TWRP on my Galaxy S4 using Flashify. I just followed the instructions and it downloaded the .img file. I then pressed flash and it flashed fine. Then it said reboot so i rebooted it. It came up with the "Samsung Custom" with the unlocked padlock like it normally does, but then it changed to a screen that said there was an error with the kernel and that i needed to connect the phone to my computer and run some Android recovery. I took the battery out and then rebooted into the page where you go to flash a custom OS. (Tried to go to recovery mode, wrong button combo). I then hit cancel and suprisingly, it booted up just fine. Kinda. After i unlocked the lock screen, I noticed that most of the apps are gone, system and downloaded. I also was bombarded with "Unfortunately, ________ has stopped." Messages. Most of the apps that are left work, except for messaging for some reason. I am writing this thread from the phone, actually. The Internet works fine, except that some apps i reinstalled via APK don't want to connect to the internet. Phone, contacts, internet, and camera still work. I know i am a noob and i shouldnt have tried to do this without help or more research. I will encolse screen shots of my phones specs if needed. If anyone reading this could just point me in the right direction, i would be extremely grateful. I can post any extra information and answer any questions you may have. Sorry for being a noob but i dont know where else to ask and i cant find any similar threads. Thank you in advance!

At this point you can only flash a stock rom.
Or somehow get recovery to work and then flash a custom rom. Safetrap recovery might work.

Ok thank you for your help. I am due for an upgrade anyway so i will just go to the S7.
HI all!! Glad to be here! Thank you in advance for the opportunity to receive much needed help.
ADMIN : Please put this in the proper topic forum if needed. Thank you!
Samsung Galaxy S7 SW-G935W8
I've never rooted an android and want to to customize the gui (to something really hi res and sharp looking and cool like 3D lazer razors!:cyclops: ) and remove bloatware.
I've done a bit of research prior too, just to familiarize myself with rooting and what's involved. Today, I found myself with an extra hour worth of time and figured, "meh, cant take that long!" Wow was I wrong! I have been working at this for 4 hours already.
I started by watching a tutorial AND reading thru the tutorial and DLing all necessary files to my computer that the tutorial said to. It was twrp ver 3.0.2-4 and ODIN, SU, and the samsung drivers. I quickly read through some troubleshooting posts here in case I got into some trouble I'd know what I'm dealing with.
step one(I'm doing this from memory)
copy SU onto phone (i put in in root directory and onto the sim *just in case)(had to look up where the "root" folder was located:silly: )
Step 2: turn off phone.
Step 3: turn phone on into Download mode
Step 4: press volume up to enter download mode
Step 5: open odin on pc
Step 6: put twrp*.*.*.*.img in the space for AP
Step 7: UNCHECK auto reboot
Step 8: hit start in ODIN
Step 9: PASS!!! right?!?!? WRONG!!!
SO THIS IS WHERE I MANUALLY REBOOT (oops caps) (vol dn+home button + power button) as soon as screen turns off (from DL screen) press and hold vol up whilst holding home + power.
Sometimes it just boots normally, sometimes it boots to a red screen, I have tried several different versions of the twrp and ODIN without success.
At this point I give up unless you can help me. I'm just glad I haven't bricked my phone *|YET|*
I have also tried leaving autoreboot enabled in ODIN. and then quickly holding vol dn+vol up+ home + power(also just vol dn+home+power and then switching to vol up+home+power) without success.
Any suggestions? Again thank you in advance!!
So I ended up using chain fire to auto root it. I must've been using the wrong img file. So anyway I've rooted my phone now. I checked with a root checker.
This is the weird thing. I haven't lost any of my data on my phone. All my contacts, texts, and even chrome bookmarks are still there. Is this normal?
Also I was wondering if CM Launcher was any good? It has ads which I don't like and a bunch of crap ended up on my home screen and all the folders are now mixed up! I installed the "Next tech" theme which seems pretty good except for all the apps are disorganized.
I installed G DATA Internet Security as well. Again I've read a few reviews and it's saying it's not all that great. Anyone have any experience with G DATA?
I humbly ask for your insight and although you people are probably a lot younger than me, your expertise will go a long way to help me. If you have any tips to make my phone more enjoyable please pass them along!
Thank you!
Ok so now I have a new problem! I disabled developer options. Then restarted my phone. Don't ask me why! Now the OEM unlock is off too. So when I restarted I guess it says custom binary blocked by FAP lock"
What do i do now? please I have been messing around with this all day and am tired! I didn't get anything else done i was supposed to get done! I'm so fkn fat and lazy!

Samsung devices when you root it you don't actually have to unlock the bootloader (Uh, maybe turning on OEM unlocking in Dev options...) So it doesn't wipe.

ok so i guess they uploaded another Stock firmware lastnightn before getting an answer here so i Downloaded the newest on. I used ODIN (Thanks SAMMOBILE for making it easy to figure out which file goes where!)
I reset phone with ODIN and everyhting seems to work EXCEPT it won't let me sign in using my Gmail account. it keeps saying "please sign in using one of the owners accounts for this device'"
so now I stuck again!
It's stupid because it sends this phone prompts to verify thru SMS, It even let me reset my Gmail password through a sms verification through my phone. After a bit of reading though, I found out that you shouldn't reset your password for 72 hours or something! I dunno! I'm just skimming articles to try and fix this phone!
I tried signing into Google from my tablet. I verified that the s7 trying to access my account was in fact me. I then tried signing into the s7 to no avail. I'll keep posting my updated. Oh and administrator....I'm not just trying to get my 10 posts!

Ok guys, new here and I've done a bit of reading on this already. From what I gather, the S7 Edge is difficult if not impossible to unlock without a factory reset. Here's the issue.
This phone belongs to my friend's husband who was severely injured in an accident at work. He's in a coma and probably won't survive. He was severely burned over 90% of his body with chemicals and he has no fingerprints to unlock the fingerprint scanner. In addition, his wife doesn't know his password, so I figured I'd see if I could do anything for her. I tried the Dr. Fone program, but it's apparently incompatible with the S7 Edge. He keeps getting texts and messages and we can't check them. The phone is also set for a daily alarm at 1:30 AM, and apparently you can't power it down without the lock code either. Ideally, I'd like to either gain access for her or at least extract what data we can from the thing before factory resetting it. It would also be nice to power it down so that it doesn't keep putting out an alarm every night in the middle of the night. All his contacts with his family are inconveniently stored in the phone as well. It's kind of a worst case scenario.
Any assistance or recommendations for a course of action for this situation would be fantastic. I don't have any other information on the device itself other than that it's running on Freedom Mobile's network in Ontario, Canada. They've said they can factory reset it for her, but we were trying to avoid that and get any contacts or messages from his phone if possible.
Thanks in advance for any help! I know it's a long shot!
Edit: I managed to power down the phone with the Power Button/Volume Down trick after about 9 tries, so at least the alarm won't go off. Other than that, no luck.
Unique situation? More like fked up situation.
Anyways I am assuming its a completely stock phone with USB debugging turned off. Hope its not carrier locked, if yes then here are the steps:
1. Flash Custom Recovery on the Phone using Odin
2. Use aroma file manager from the Recovery, you need to download it separately, put it on its SD card.
3. Now using aroma file manager navigate to Data Folder and then; System Folder and find “gesture.key” or “password.key” for pattern lock or password lock respectively.
4. Delete those any password related file and reboot. It should be unlocked now.
Thanks VERY much, UnNaMeD__!!!
I'm looking at Odin and the Recovery firmware right now. Is there a recommended version? I see TWRP and CWM, but primarily TWRP mentioned, and it looks like the .tar files are easy to find. I'm pretty new to this type of mod and I don't want to brick the phone, I know it's a risk. I'm looking at faqs on theandroidsoul and the cyanogenmods forum which seem quite thorough. Apparently I can't post the links as I'm a new user here....seems fair I suppose, especially considering the forum content.
My friend's husband didn't have a microSD card in (just checked), but I can toss a spare one of mine in for Aroma, which I found. I probably need for format it for FAT32, not NTFS though? Is there any way to tell if it's carrier locked? It's from a small phone company, not one of the bigger guys. I'm going to wait until I hear back to get started on this, as I'm decent with Windows based systems, but unfamiliar with the nuances of modding Android. I use a stock Sony XZ Premium myself.
Again, thanks very much! I've got some hope we can get in touch with his family now!

Use odin 3.13 the latest
Then download twrp recovery 3.2.2.0 tar file for hero2lte the latest.
Boot your phone into odin mode by restarting your phone while holding power home button and vol down. When your reach the confirmation screen press OK.
Open odin and put the tar file in the ap slot and click the ap box and hit start to begin flashing.
Now restart ur phone by holding power home and vol down then immediately hold power home vol up to reach custom recovery.
Edit I just tested this myself
Flash the zip file from this thread no need to go looking for files in system.

Should remove password pin or pattern.
To check if it's network locked just look at the back of your phone if it says 935u or Verizon wireless or 935W8 then the phone is unlocked for different networks.

Just look at back of your phone and tell me its model, Like G935F. I will give you the correct recovery file. And recoveries have option to enable storage too so you can access data from computer. But to be honest it never worked for me. You could also give it a try before doing other steps.
You could contact on PM, or even better I could also help you over whatsapp if you wish.
And I never heard that you could brick phone by flashing recovery, maybe only if you flash incorrectly. A bad recovery will make recovery useless, but phone would still boot. Thats my experience.
I have broken password before of a Mediatek device. If you want I could try it on my own S7 Edge too to be 100% sure.
I'll send you a PM as well, but I just checked and it's a G935W8. Sorry for the delay, I work shift work and I'm pretty busy. I'm going to work on the phone on the weekend. I don't have Whatsapp currently, but I can get it. Thanks again for your kindly assistance!

Hey alright no problem.
Download TWRP for G935W8 from official TWRP website:
https://teamw.in/samsung/samsunggalaxys7edge.html
You can follow some instructions from this thread regarding flashing:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/s7...overy-official-twrp-hero2lte-3-0-0-0-t3334084
Flashing TWRP might cause your phone to not boot. You will need to download dm-verity disabler from the thread above.
So download TWRP, Aroma file manager, dm-verity bypass, and zip file to disable pass that the other user posted: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2780696
Download all these files and put aroma file manager, dm-verity bypass and that password zip file bypass on your SD.
Make sure auto reboot is disabled in odin, follow instruction in thread about how to install twrp. If the auto reboot is disabled, phone will just remain at the same screen, so after the flashing is done from odin. You need to force reboot on your phone (volume down + power button for few seconds), just when the screen goes off, you need to immediately press recovery button combination (vol up + home + power). Here once you enter TWRP recovery see if you can enable MTP and trasnfer data to PC, if not, goto install zip and try password bypass zip file. If it works file then ok and proceed to install dm-verity bypass file and reboot your phone. If that zip doesn't works. You need to go to same install zip file option and now install aroma file manager. From there delete the password files that I told you about earlier, flash dm-verity and reboot again.
Thats it, if get confused about a step, tell me.
Well, I attempted to install TWRP through the latest version of Odin, but it didn't work. The error message I got in Recovery/Download mode was:
"Custom Binary (RECOVERY) Blocked By FRP Lock."
I looked that up online and apparently to install TWRP, I need to remove the FRP lock. I found a program called RealTerm which can supposedly bypass the FRP lock, but it doesn't seem to be connecting to the locked phone and it's not exactly user friendly.
Am I missing something here? Or is there no way to bypass the FRP lock on the unit?
