Hi everyone,
I rooted my nexus 6p using Nexus Root Toolkit, the root was succesfull , then I went to recovery mode to flash the images for the new google assistant (im not sure if this is what cause it) , the device will turn on with this message "Your device software can't be checked for corruption. Please lock the bootloader." , then after 3/5 seconds it goes to a Google Logo wth a small opened padlock where th home button is. but it never fully boots, i can access the bootloader and get into the recovery mode, but thats all, how do i fix this?
Many thanks
Jacob

I'd suggest flashing the factory image via fastboot and doing a complete factory reset as per Heisenberg's guide.

Yep, it bootlooped for me too. I restored from a backup but without a backup, clean wipe will square you away.
i know this is silly but I'm sorta new to all this, how would i do that haha

Look for a flashing guide in Nexus 6p General forum. A complete guide to updating your phone to stock or flashing roms for all scenarios.

I was playing a game on my nexus 7, it froze then when rebooted it it just got stuck on google screen. Read a bunch of stuff, went into recovery and tried to recover, it would say erasing but never go any further, just sits there. got toolkit tried to restore factory with that, now when it boots I still just get google screen but I get the menu in corner for start/boot/recover/power off. still never boots, when I try to run recovery now it doesnt even go to erasing. Ive read everything I can find to restore it, got 2 toolkits, unfortunatly everything tells me to put it in debug mode, which is funny cause if I could boot up and go into settings to turn on bebug mode then I wouldnt be having these problems... Can someone please help, Im good with computers but dont know much of tablets. I did no messing with tablet besides downloading updates when they came out.
unlock bootloader

My guess is no, I never messed with any of my system stuff. Everything was factory except for the updates it had me do as they came out.
How long you let it sit in recovery erasing before you rebooted it? Is there an option in boot loader or recovery for a factory reset? Beings you're not rooted I doubt those one click tool kits will work for you.

It sat in erasing for 1 hour and didnt do anything. I was doing factory reset in recovery.
As long as the boot loader starts you can recover your Nexus. Check this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1907796
If he can't unlock the bootloader then there's not a whole lot he can do. Run "fastboot getvar all" while in bootloader and tell us what it says please. If adb is seeing your phone in recovery, then run an adb shell and do "ls -l /dev/block/platform/sdhci-tegra.3/by-name/" please.
Sorry I can't help further but I just got this and don't know much. I am glad others came in to give you more help.

Damn... I didn't see he can't unlock the bootloader. This is going to be difficult.

Just sayin, I think you guys need to pull the back cover and disconnect the battery for at least one hour.
I am really new at this but it helped me save mine twice. I think?
After you plug the battery back in try fast boot.

But this will void my warranty right ?
They have no way in knowing you pulled your back cover off. Just be careful so not to leave pry marks. Only way they will know is if you tell them you did it.

Heya...
On my 16GB Grouper I had installed the stock rooted 4.3 rom. Yesterday a system OTA update message appeared on my screen - 1.7 MB. I let it download and install over night and just went to bed. Came back in the morning to a boot loop where the device got stuck with the four colorful thingies animation. I can access the bootloader, but the recovery seems to be broken. Can't remember if I had anything other than the stock one... Anyways, now I'm strugling to get this thing going again. I am a zero at ADB but willing to learn whatever is necessary to get me started with a working recovery at least. No tool root box will do anything really for me...
Thanks for your help in advance
Hey!
Had a problem just like yours. If your running windows then install this program its called nexus tool kit. I'm a newbie here but if you Google 'nexus toolkit wug fresh' you can find it
All you need to do is plug your device in and open the program, then select flash OTA with the boot loop option and then follow the on screen instructions
That should put you back to normal with a fresh start meaning all you data will be lost. You can also root from there to.

Yeah. It would be dumb to actually learn what you are doing to your device. You should totally use a toolkit.

Honestly, I'm just showing the user one way, I anticipated him of being a newbie. For the record, it shows you all the process's happening.

Thank you guys. You might not believe it, but I'm not a newb to Android or flashing. It's just that I've always been playing around with Samsung devices and there you'd normaly turn to Odin in case something went wrong. Here it's different.
Anyways, with this comprehensive guide I've been able to reflash a recovery image and my old rom. Unfortunately losing all of my data in the process, but there was no way to save it.

Hi guys, got a huge problem with my nexus..so here it is, i play around with my nexus 4 twrp recovery mode and came to this option of format/sytem, cache and everything in to that option becoz someones suggested to format my fone thru here, what i did is i click all the options that started with 'format' so i think that was all written in there..after doin it.,i go back to twrps first page and choose reboot now and there, option of not beeing rooted appeared and also ask to root or not..so i click yes becoz i already had a rooting state.then i was waitin for about 5mins and still im in a google logo screen and expecting nexus circles will came up..but not,i was stuck here..
What causing this..did i wipe all the files including the os installed?
I can go back to fastboot mode/bootloader and twrp recovery but still stuck from google logo
I did factory reset, clear cache and everything in twrp but still no luck..
And even the backups not showing..
So the question is,if i will flash image thru fastboot,do i need specific files of stock rom?baseband?country related roms?
Im sorry for all this noob questions, but if anyone could suggest will be greatly appreciated..

I would suggest rebooting into bootloader and flashing factory images with ADB or a Toolkit
Need to close this thread..got my nexus back to life..all in the process of adb flashing.img files..thanks to all of u guys who help..love ya all.

Hello All,
About 2 days ago i tried to root my google nexus 4, I dont know what i did, but now when i turn it on it shows the google logo then goes to where it shows an android with a red exclamation mark, does anyone know how this can be fixed, any help would be much appreciated!!
Can you be a bit more specific on what you did? Or what guide you followed?
Rooting is quick and easy on a nexus
fastboot oem unlock
fastboot flash recovery nameofrecovery.img
Then flash ROM of choice in recovery
Reboot

Ok, i had successfully rooted my phone, i then went to put on a new rom so i could use OTG storage. That got me completely stuck, i tried toget back to my normal phone but didnt know how. I foolishly went into recovery mode, and wiped everything off it. and just now i cant even do anything it just has a red light flashing at the bottom, i hope this has helpt in some way.
Do you have a custom recovery? Use adb sideload to flash the ROM, or if you have a working otg cable this should be fine too
Sent from my Nexus 7 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
UPDATE: The red light has gone (was just low on power) But the phone is still stuck in recovery mode. i have tried to "apply update from ADB" with my mac but it doesnt work and im not sure if i am doing it propperly.
I am pretty new to this kinda stuff, so i dont know what a custom recovery is, and i honestly have no idea what to do, im not really bothered about the root anymore i would rather just have my phone back to normal.
Please dont take this the wrong way and I mean no disrespect, but maybe we should just get your phone up and running and then maybe a few months from now after you've done a whole lot of reading you can consider rooting again. The n4 isn't the most expensive phone in the world but it would still be a shame to brick it, as much as I believe all androids are best to be rooted the user really needs to understand fully what s/he is doing, 95% of "help my device is bricked" threads come from lack of homework, which is easily 100s of threads a day across xda alone
OK, sorry for the lecture I've just ran into this a lot lately, and I'd be glad to help
I try not to use apple products as a whole so I can't say for sure why its not connecting with adb, is this for sure set up properly? As in has adb or fastboot worked fine in the past? Also is device currently unlocked? By a custom recovery I mean nonstock, not an oem, like twrp or clockwork.
If you want root let's download the latest twrp image for the n4, if you want factory than download latest from here
https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images?hl=de
Let me know how you want to proceed

Good morning all,
I am throwing this out here hoping someone can please help.
Woke up yesterday to the Essential phone logo screen powered by Android... Unresponsive. Restarted with no luck. Went into recovery mode and factory reset. Went to start up animation for an hour but nothing. Device is locked (bootloader locked) and running on the latest build from Essential (7.1.1/NMJ88C/464). I have never unlocked nor flashed anything on the phone, only OTA updates directly from Essential. Just started it up again today and says your device is corrupt. Factory reset again and now cycling between logo screen and erasing circle.
Any ideas to fix the phone? Reached out to Essential but haven't heard back yet.
Thanks all!

You don't need to be unlocked to adb sideload the Oreo beta builds from essentials website.
Just follow their instructions

I'm searching for answers too! My essential is doing the dotted box to the dotted circle spin back & forth over & over ! I saw the dead robot with exclamation mark . The only thing on the essential website is to wipe phone ! Help. If the person that made this phone do this to people dies please let me know, so I can smile during this stressful time . If they r still alive I hope they are in agony over something thx!
