Does anyone know how to turn ALL notifications off? I know you can go into the app settings and turn notifications off per app but is there a master toggle? It's annoying when watching a movie or something and you hear the notification sound go off. I've been going into each apps settings and turning them off but sometimes I forget one. Or even if I could mute the notification volume that would be awesome. I just see no option to turn off all notifications or mute them all

Upvote. These notification sounds are really annoying. Especially since they stop music playback in spotify (without restarting it).

Does anyone know how to disable the sound notification when plugging into USB? I've seen a few posts here and on other sites, but they don't seem to be relevant to the X (I guess some other phones have a "None" or "Silent" option for the notification sound, while the X doesn't).
I also have SD card notification turned off, and USB debugging off, and still no go. I keep my volume turned up so I can hear it ring when I'm in the car or anywhere there's background noise, but when I plug it into USB it plays the "Droid" sound kind of loud. It's bugging me and probably other people near me at work...
Any help?
No ideas? Anyone?
Install Audio Manager and use the widget to reduce the "Alerts" volume. That will leave your "Ringer" volume up to the higher level. Of course, this will lower all of your alerts (incoming text messages, etc), but it leaves your ringer alone.
Thanks, but that's not any better than having it say Droid...then I'll never know it when I get emails/texts, unless I happen to see the blinking light.
I think I'll just deal with it though, it's not a huge issue, and I don't normally plug it in and unplug it that often that it's really a problem...just on occasional annoyance.
It's really annoying that argubly the best Android phone out there lacks features everyother Android phone has.
In your main settings change notification to silent. In gmail settings change the tone to what you want and in your sms change your notification to what you want.

I am unable to get this to work. There is no "silent" notification ringtone. Putting the phone on "silent mode" does exactly what you would expect. I can change individual sounds per application (calendar, text, email, etc) but whatever I have set in the main settings of the phone will be the ringtone for the USB connect. I'd rather not have to create a blank MP3 because that's just dumb that I would have to go that length to do something so simple.
OK, what I did is just change the Notification ringtone to "Look at Me". It's not a perfect solution, but it's much quieter, so I can deal with it.
I know this is an older post but there is a check box for SD card notifications under settings, sound. Just un-check it.

Is there a way to turn off that annoying sound when you rotate the phone? I don't remember if I have always had it or if it was something I might have messed with by accident. Also is there a reason why notifications don't ring on the headphones when they are plugged in? I though that was just weird. Thanks and I apologize if this question is a bit random haha.

Set the notification sound to silent. To keep getting notification sounds for texts/emails/etc., go into the program and set individual notification options for each one.
Anyone else have a problem where notifications keep reverting to using sounds ? I like to keep mine on vibrate so i go into Sound and turn notification volume all the way down (why they have no "silent" option for notifications, i dont know !!!). It will work for a little while and then i start hearing my notification sounds again so i look in settings, and notification sound is set back to 20% or so. Only way to fix it is to use silent mode, but that would affect phone calls as well which i dont want.
LG need to address the problem with quiet mode.
It seems it would be easy to have a sub menu in each mode, sound, vibrant and quiet
So you can decide what led notifications, vibration and sound you receive.
I have to turn sound off, turn vibrate off and turn off Led notifications and make sure it is set to priority, so the alarms works.
It should be easier than that!!
I agree with this. I use my phone as my alarm but I don't like to get woken up by text messages or phone calls when I'm trying to sleep so normally I put my phone on silent. But with this do not disturb setting it's a pain in the backside having to manually set priority alerts on. Surely they could just add another toggle setting to the button on the notification bar so it goes 'Sound/Vibrate/Priority/Do Not Disturb'.

I don't really know what you problem is... if you're in priority mode every single thing of your list get turned off automatically! Except for media volume. Just make sure you don't use "Do not disturb"-Mode if you still want to hear your alarm.
cheers
Yup. Set mine to priority every night and no led notifications, no vibrate, no nothing other than alarm in the morning.
Is anybody else having a problem where Whatsapp messages still vibrate even though I've switched it off in the apps settings?
Also is there a way to switch all of vibration for notifications off on the phone? On the M9 I could put the phone on silent and choose whether or not I want it to vibrate with notifications or not but on the 6P it seems if I have the volume silent it still vibrates.
Yeah I have this problem but I think it has to do with the favorite contacts, only those ring in priority mode.
