You need to wipe the data partition in TWRP in order to decrypt it.
wipe/format data/type YES
TWRP doesn't yet support samsungs encryption.
wiping data will obviously remove everything, so backup first.
immediately after wiping data, flash an updated supersu, or dm-verity disable
Flashing a rom over an encrypted data partition will do nothing to solve it unfortunately.

Hi,
I have G935F, installed TWRP 3.0.0.0 and rooted, WITHOUT wiping. System boots correctly, but I cannot do factory reset or wipe with TWRP, because I got some messages like "Cannot mount Data" and "Failed crypto loader". I understand that it has to do with encryption. Can someone please enlight me, and give me tips about the issue?
Thank you

You have to download dm-verity and force encryption disabler from here , put it to SD card, reboot into TWRP, FORMAT DATA (not wipe) and flash that file (dm-verity and force encryption disabler). All your data will be erased.
No way to unencrypt without loosing you data for the moment(
"All your data will be erased" means that after boot I'll find a clean system installation (as factory reset)?
I hope not to be posing stupid questions, I'm completely new to this world
Thank you very much
Yes just as a factory reset

No, you cannot perform a backup, because your data is encrypted by default and the only way to disable it is to format your data.
I have a unique problem. I have a HTC Desire 612 from Verizon and I decided to revive it to playe PoGo. But it was stuck in a boot loop and I couldn't get any custom ROM.
Finally a gentle soul here gave me the stock rom and I flashed it vide TWRP and played PoGo for weeks. Then yesterday the phone bro led and when it came up it was stuck in a boot loop.
So I decided to flash the stock ROM again. But before that I tried to factory reset. I could go to TWRP, select wipe data, enter yes and the wiping was successful, then clear dalvic and cache and system beforehand finally I flashed the stock ROM.
Surprise surprise is NOTHING happens. The phone boots without the apps telling me they are installing. Then I get back the exact same data in my phone including my selected wallpaper and apps. Before I can do anything the phone restarts.
Point is wiping and restoring the stock ROM does NOTHING to the phone yet the processes are successful. Can somebody help?

It really is about TWRP failing to wipe
Phone is working, I suppose doing his job in the process. The problem is that I am waiting already 20 minutes. I am afraid of getting CPU burnt (it is at 51 grades of Celsius).
I have read about the issue and about also the solution [enabling rm -rf in the twrp settings]... But now I am in the process, so not sure if I should shut the phone down or not..
Did you do a factory reset or advanced wipe?
I used advanced wipe, I got really angry with formatting so I removed the battery ... but now I have a problem: failed to mount system... I installed the twrp through odin... And before that I did not do anything, do I have to unlock bootloader or something like that?

No. Your bootloader is already unlocked, otherwise it wouldn't have let you flash TWRP.
Have you tried factory reset? Or mounting system manually?
You can also try to mount system by using TWRP's built-in terminal emulator.
Now I flashed 4.4.2 with and Odin, phone was ok. Then I flashed latest twrp and now the system was mounted. I did a backup and wiped all again with advanced wipe. Then I tried to install ROM but it fell again to a error 7 - system not mounted. How can I mount it manually? what command is that?

Error 7 means the ROM is not compatible with your model.
Have you tried different version of twrp?
That was a really terrible testing day... I tried every twrp till version 2.8.6 that worked after odin flashing. I managed to mount system and do all wipes. I flashed ROM and gapps, everything went smoothly... But the thing was that the phone started to shut down by itself. Without a message, simply black screen and restart and bootloop after samsung logo. I decided to load 4.4.2 stock with repartitioning (pit file)... 10 hours ok and then again shutting down by itself.
Have you experienced this kind of behaviour?
first of all I'm sorry to create a new thread and it is different from other's problem.
first I'll tell what I have done.
flashed f2fs recovery by bugerXXX
formatted data, cache partitions to f2fs
flashed lineage os by harsh
rebooted to system & it was booted.
(no problem till here)
then I again rebooted to recovery
backup system& it just rebooted in the middle of the process
and that's it it never rebooting to system.
it always rebooting to splash screen infinite times when I try to power it on.
recovery works
fastboot works
download mode works
tried flashing different ROMs
reformatted data cache partitions to ext4
it always rebooting to splash screen infinite times.
even I flashed ROM (kk&lp) with QFIL and results are same.
but after flashed kk it completed boot animation and entered setup wizard, then again it started to rebooting
I think it has some problem with partitions or emmc
is there any thing that I can do to revive my phone?

Revert back your partitions to ext4
Wipe them
Fix them using fix option
Flash lollipop stock ROM
And see if it boots up
And next time be sure to ask for help before doing anything so that you don't end up like this
And contact me if it does not help
Don't forget to fix partitions
still same problem

you mean " repair file system " in twrp??
I have formatted system, data, cache to ext4
and repaired them using "repair file system" in twrp
flashed s061 stock ROM
but the problem still present.
and I wanna know what is " validated_emmc_firehouse_8916.mbn". can I use it instead of "prog_emmc_firehouse_8916.mbn" in QFIL ??

The sequence of flashing files is written in scatter file so even of you change the file and it is not meant to be flashed it won't flash
I don't think there might be a hardware fault
i am also suffering from this same problem
Hey guys, I was trying to flash a ROM. TWRP was unable to wipe data. It showed error "unable to mount data". So I reformatted the data partition to exFat from ext4. After that, I was able to wipe data.
Then I flashed Carbon ROM. Everything went fine but when I booted I got Encryption unsuccessful message with an option to reset the phone. I clicked reset phone, then I was booted to recovery. I tried wiping data but it doesn't work. It gives errors which you can see in the images attached.
So, can the problem be fixed using the MiFlash tool and flashing stock rom? Or do I need to manually format data partition first?
Thanks!
Nevermind, I was able to boot into twrp and then I reformatted the data partition to ext4. Then I reflashed this rom and it seems to boot fine now.

Sure, in TWRP go to Wipe > advanced wipe > select data > change or repair file system > change file system > select your preferred format.

Thank you so much. Was really frustrated with this encryption deal. Worked like a charm. Cheers :good:
my galaxy s8 was rooted , and after a while i did factory reset through twrp -
format data
then advanced wipe - and wipe everything except system.
then i flashed again the latest version of twrp , magisk , rmm bypass, and no-verify-opt-encrypt 6.0
when i tried to flash no-verify-opt-encrypt 6.0 i got the error "failed to mount preload invaild argument"
however, my phone is rooted, and it is working.
is it should be an issue ?
how can i fix it?
i am using the stock firmware

Won't cause any real issues.
If worried about it in twrp select
Wipe menu - advanced wipe - select preload - swipe to wipe

hey ! thanks for the reply .
i did wiped the preload, and flashed everything over again, but got "error installing zip file /external_sd/no-verify: error 1"
but again, everything working smoothly.
would i try flash stock firmware using odin and start over again?

The issue is with twrp not the system..
I don't know how you have set up twrp
If everyrhing else can be flashed in twrp except no verity zip maybe a possible corruption in zip file.
Note: lasted no verity zip is 6.1
