Hey guys,
I tried a lockscreen password and now I can't delete it. I want no secure method, I only want to delock the phone with swipe. However it is not possible to deactivate the actual password like you can see here...
Does anyone know a solution?
Ok I have found a solution. You have to enter the whole time a wrong password. Then the phone asks you for the security pin. After entering the security pin you can delete the lockscreen method.
Or go to Settings - Developer Options - Screenlock - enter your pin. That will delete the pin/password lock.

Then re-apply to use swipe lockscreen.
YesYes, update your phone and then when you go back to passwords click on none. It will say that you security will not work without a phone lock. Agree to this and the password will be removed

When you are in Settings/WIFI hit the menu button on the bottom left.
Verizon is spelled wrong in the question.
the suggested answer does not work. Help!
You have to enable Service Mode. Go here >http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2530523
As of now, I'm aware that you can enable access to the ServiceMode on a rooted VZW Note 3 by editing the /efs/carrier/HiddenMenu file and changing it from OFF to ON (uppercase is required).
The above is my point exactly. Can someone screenshot the sequence of what it looks like to do this?
My biggest problem is that I cant get my phone to even TURN ON its own wifi in order to scan for nearby connections. I try to turn it on with the toggle, but it just stays "1/2 lit up", then go back to off.

I found "efs" by using my file explorer app, but no "carrier" file exists in it. What's going on? I rooted with Kingo, Safestrapped, Titanium Backupped... ...and now it means I have no WiFi on my phone??? What the heck????!!!
You shouldn't need a file explorer to find efs. It's in the root directory. You're sure there's no carrier file?
this is going to be a long conversation if I have to keep "re-stating" things I've already stated. I found the efs folder. There was NOTHING IN IT.
Does Jellybeans ROM have a hand in this???
CM13 encryption is a nightmare.
I've only used CM11 encryption before (use Cryptfs Password Manager to change encryption password).
I installed CM13 on a LG G2 D800. I believe it has hardware-backed storage.
I encrypted my phone using `vdc cryptfs enablecrypto inplace password` as a test. Curious to see what happened when I changed encryption methods, I switched to password encryption with password `password`.
After running `vdc cryptfs changepw password password password password2`. I was able to successfully decrypt with "password2" and unlock with "password". So I assumed the command would work... this assumption would prove my downfall.
I then reenabled pattern unlock. Interestingly, I was able to reboot without so much as a password prompt, despite being "encrypted". So I reentered the pattern, making sure to first enable boot-time pattern prompt. (Really! What's the point of encryption if it doesn't depend on user input?)
Still in pattern mode, I attempted to secure decryption while maintaining convenient unlock pattern. `vdc cryptfs changepw pattern password password password` or `pattern password password` or `password password password password` or `password password password` I actually ran a long command a few times, then a short one repeatedly, then possibly the long one some more. Each time I ran it, I got `200 0 0`, which is supposed to indicate "no error".
Nonetheless, when I reboot, the phone still asks for the pattern (I had tried to add a decryption password), but rejects the unlock pattern I was using previously. It seems like the `changepw` commands did not enable the password, but merely corrupted the pattern.
How do I unlock encryption?

Figured this out - downloaded the cryptfs app from the playstore and then was able to use Termux to run the command.
PIN doesn't work, although Fingerprint is OK, so either I input it wrong or one of us forgot. Is there anyway to rest the PIN w/o a Factory Reset? Thanks
Hmmmmm, the plot thickens . .. . .. . I attempted to use Android Device Manager to have Google lock the phone and provide a new passcode (PIN). ADM located the phone OK and tbe phone reflected that it had locked the phone with a new passcode. However the new passcode PIN did not function, the old PIN still did not work, but fortunately Fingerprint is still OK.
It appears that PIN may not function & I need to enter PIN to attempt to change it!

Yes. TWRP, rooted & ROM is ZAD Mix7 rev .2 with some minor mods. I recall the PIN working yesterday (I think). I certainly needed (& used it ) it to set the Fingerprint
Using TWRP or Any file explorer with root access and do the following:
- Go to file explorer then go to :
- data > system > locksettings.db (Delete that file)
- reboot and setup your pin or whatever you want.

Haha, I want to thank you for this. I've had this issue since upgrading from B20 to B29, but I just lived with it since I could unlock using my fingerprints.
Title says it all, I'm unable to hide the password, the option is not available when I press a number it has a input feedback
I have kept my phone from locking for a day because I Forgot the lockscreeen passsword while changing it on LGK20+, I'm roooted is there any way to disable/delete the lockscreeen pin using twrp? I read an article online that says I can delete a few files ending in .key and i willl be able to set a new passsword can any1 confirm that or have an easier way to disable my lockscreeen pin ( i've prevented it from locking so far),,,...
Pitchblack Recovery, which you can download from a thread on our K20plus forum, has an option within advanced tools with several useful scripts one of which is removing Fingerprint/PIN passwords. It deletes some specific files but I'm not sure of the full extent of these scripts.
